Christians attack

Across various sections of this globe Christians are being attacked and killed for their faith … this must stop!  We can not close our eyes to the brutality that is occurring in countries such as Syria, Iraq, Nigeria and Egypt. Yesterday Christians in Bagdad were slaughtered as they tried to practice their faith in peace. I ask when will this senseless violence end?

As a person of the Jewish faith I implore those of all faiths to come together and defend every human souls right to pray in peace . The world must stop giving economic aid to countries that don’t properly defend all their citizens.  When one attacks an individual of faith no matter what the faith they attack all of us of faith. It’s time we stand together and say enough is enough.

Stop giving leaders more to fail on.

Obama confused

If a leader is unable to administer the work they’ve already been assigned there is no point in giving them more work. Let them first show that they are successful in achieving their initial goal before they have more work to do.  This appears to be a common sense approach to any governance.   Yet I see a push to ignore this basic philosophy from those who have a different political position then I do.

From all objective viewpoints “The Affordable Care Act/Obamacare” is failing and more problems appear to be heading our way starting January 1st. Therefore it’s essential that we don’t add to this growing Cancer by diverting resources for it’s treatment otherwise it could be a fatal blow to our country. For example if we try to enact other broad legislation like “Immigration Reform” with this administration they’ll just have another bill that they don’t understand how to enact and try to make legislative changes from the Executive branch.    This in turn will only  cause another area of infection for our country when we were trying to treat one area.  We should instead focus all governmental efforts to treat it and hopefully remove the most damaging parts of the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare or it will continue to haunt us for generations to come.

Senator Schumer is not king Schumer

Schumer

No you’re not #1 the people of NY deserve better.

We are told that Senator Schumer is a shoe in and that nobody can truly challenge him for his Senate seat. This disgusts me because the Senator works for the people of NY and yet the policies he votes for are against most of those NY’s.  I’m also disgusted because no representative should feel like there seat is guaranteed just because they have the resources of the political elite! We the people should insure that we put up a candidate who will fight to earn that seat. I would be honored to fight for that seat if there was a path and support for me to do so.  Here are just a few examples of why Senator Schumer should be seeking a different career path.

(1) Senator Schumer has continually voted for increasing taxes on all New Yorkers. Rich, Middle and even poor.

(2) The Senator has voted to over-regulate and in-turn destroy business opportunities in the state.

(3) Schumer has voted for restrictions on bank and financial institutions that only help the big institutions and hurt community and local banks. These are the banks that support small businesses and start-ups.

(4) Senator Schumer voted in favor of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel who has made anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks throughout his career.

(5) The Senator has shown disrespect and contempt for his employer the people of NY, especially those who see things differently. We expect our Senator to take a strong stand on issues that other NY’s might disagree with but we also expect him/her to respectful and listen to those from the state with differing points of view.

I can go on and on and on but I’ve got to go to work to pay for the Obamacare mess he voted for.

It’s not President Obama’s fault…

President Obama Confused

Those that blame President Obama for his poor performance don’t realize that this President has based his Presidency on the Israel form of government and for that reason he is a success. There is no argument that President Obama has done a great job as “Head of State”.  He looks great in a suit, gives a great speech, has awesome parties,  smiles well in front of camera (especially when he takes the picture) and shakes hands very well (some hands he probably shouldn’t have shaken) yet it’s his policies that have not worked out as well (I’m being Presidential).  I believe the President just run for office in the wrong country.

There is a solution that could work starting tomorrow. Let the President keep his title and have an individual like Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz etc run the boring details like let’s say a Prime Minister would do. This way we could continue to look good and actually do good as a country.

Obamacare Opportunity

medical technology

A new business opportunity opens up due to the fears that Obamacare/Affordable Care Act brings to those in the medical health community as well as people who are serviced by this community. Private hospitals and drug companies worry that they will be on the cutting board as an unelected board decides what benefits they will cover and to whom.  Individuals fear that they will be losing the benefits that they have always counted on due to the implementation of this law.

Therefore there is a need for an insurance company that provides “extra coverage” (Obamcare Care cuts)  for those with means so that they can get the proper care they expect. As well as an insurance plan that provides  financial stability to those who provide such needs.  Monies generated from such an insurance company would be split between those that provide such benefits and the insurance company so that they can have the resources to pay out benefits in the future.

I believe age is not what is in your body but your mind and soul.  Please note that this column is for those of all ages who feel like life is moving way to fast and there worried it’s just passing them by If you keep on a steady regiment age will only be something on the back burner that you have to maintain but not something that holds you back. I believe there is no reason to terminate a healthy dog. Yet shelters all across America do so on a daily basis. This occurs because these shelter “don’t have room”. This shouldn’t occur!  America is a big country and their are plenty of hearts that are empty, surely we can find the space and stop this awful practice.  Here are just a few places (below) that dogs could make a difference but I’m sure you have many more suggestions. Let’s just decide to stop destroying a beautiful creature that brings so much love and joy to so many.

(1) Senior Citizen homes, where individuals are left alone for hours and a dog could be bring them comfort.

(2) Prisons, where individuals have lost all sense have humanity and the taking care of  such an animal can help them get in touch with a more compassionate side.

(3) Hospices, where the loyalty of a pet during a time of transition can help someone peace in their last moments.

(4) Grieving Centers, where individuals can find warmth after a loved one has passed on.

(5) Finally a dog sanctuary where neutered dogs can live in an open area and be observed on how they interact with each other in a naturally setting.

To help or not to help that is the question-Please share and comment

bridge between people one

When I was a bit younger I dated  a beautiful young lady who I thought had a great time with me but for some reason wouldn’t return my phone call. So I came up with this secret plan to find out the true reason why. The plan was simple  I would have my friend call to find the reason why I was on the other line listening. What I soon discovered shocked me, she said that I was a great guy (ok good guy) but I was too helpful.  What is too helpful?

I have always believed in “to do unto others as you would want done unto you” and to me that means to be that helping hand when someone is in need. Many have wondered  does that mean you offer a helping hand when a person doesn’t ask for that hand or should you  not “bug into someone else’s business”?  I believe there is a line between that hand and a push. Here is how I draw the line (below). Please note that line isn’t always straight.

(1) If someone asks for help try to help them if you have the ability to do so or get others that might be able to help. This is the case unless that person is actually hurt by the offering.  When a car appears stuck on the road I call the police to get them assistance  (my mechanical skills are less then adequate). If  a beggar ask for change for food I’d buy them the food rather then give them the money to use for other detrimental purposes.

(2) When someone appears to be suffering or “in need of help” then you can say “is there anything I can do to help”.

(3) If the answer is “no” move on except when the continue to suffer because of a poor choice they have made and/or you are close to that individual.  This is where tact comes in. You could say “it appears that you might be having difficulty, I’d love to help you if you’d like but understand if you want to sort it out yourself. Please  just understand I’m there if k you change your mind.”

(4) If the answer is yes but they don’t truly accept your advise they might just want empathy and then it’s your decision how much empathy they deserve.

(4) If the answer is no then let it be and ask G-D to give them the insight to solve the problem that they are having.

PLEASE ADD YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND SHARE WITH OTHERS.

I was just studying the psychological theory of effort justification and it’s mind blowing because it explains so much.  The theory basically states that people will believe something is good even though they know it’s bad because of the negative experiences they go through to get it.  Here are some key ways that it works in today’s society (below).

(1) You wait an hour to see the latest movie or show. Your mind says why would I do something so stupid? Later your mind concludes that the movie was great (even though it wasn’t) to justify waiting in line.

(2) You buy the most expensive chocolate on the rack. Your mind initially makes you feel like you’re a dummy until you taste it and it’s heaven sent or you rationalize that it is

(3) A manufacturer makes sure their product is the most expensive so those that buy it will believe it’s the best even if it isn’t.

(4) A Fraternity will use extreme hazing for their new members so that those who join will feel that they are joining the best club out there.

The perfect gift is them.

Excited

I believe it’s not necessary to buy a gift of extravagance to make someone happy but a gift that truly represents them.  Sometimes that means the most precious gifts come in small packages. How do you go about finding that special gift for your loved one or person that you don’t hate (too much). Here are some helpful hints.

(1) Find out what they truly like (ex sports team, fishing, reading, watching old Seinfeld episodes).  A present that combines their likes is the best like a book on a Seinfeld episode where Seinfeld went fishing in a Met’s outfit.

(2) If you can’t find their particular interest that meets your budget then buy something that you know that person wants but never would buy for themselves. It could be that special cologne, expensive Chocolate (my birthday’s 1/20) or sexy night gown (not for mom) .

(3) If you’re still out of the price range you can afford then buy them a practical gift. This is a gift that you know they need but don’t have. It could be that emergency radio if a storm hits, or even a heavy pair of socks for those that live in cold weather. Practical may not seem exciting but it truly is useful.

(4) Wait there’s still hope if you’re still strapped for cash. Give a card to this special person with a promise for a   service that they would enjoy (hey keep your mind out of the gutter) it could be cooking them dinner, or cleaning their room.

(4) Wrap the present or card in a fun original box.

(5) Feel good that you didn’t just get a gift certificate but gave a present that truly came from the heart.
