Philosophy

This is the biggest political upset since a bunch of patriots fought and defeated the greatest military in their times. This upset can be compared to the 1969 World Series or the 1980’s Miracle on Ice. David Brat with almost no name recognition and monies has defeated the 2nd most powerful man in the House of Representatives. It doesn’t matter whether you would have voted for him or not but what matters is David can still beat Goliath today.

Please note I’m so taken by this upset that I’ve neglected other work just to post this blog.  What this means is that your vote still counts no matter what the political consultants and experts might say and that it really takes that fat lady to sing before a defeat can be handed to you. This sends a shiver down ever political incumbent this year that your job is in jeopardy so you better listen to your employees. No politician can now think of their job as a lifetime career but a position they must earn at the ballot box every year.

CUOMO BE WARNED.

Cuomo is vulnerable no matter what the media and political pundits might say. This is a Governor who is wearing nothing but nobody is allowed to see.   We have a strong opponent  named Rob Astorino that is not only done a superb job as Westchester County Executive but is a great communication with wonderful business skills and is a great family man. Will the race be difficult?  Of course but it is winnable. Here are some strategies I hope the Astorino campaign employs to make him our next governor of this great state.

(1) Clear Innovative Solutions for the common problems NY’s face- (Examples include -Traffic, Energy, lack of good paying jobs, higher taxes, poor educational opportunities for our citizens).

(2) Door to Door- The media can ignore you but if you bring the message to the people door to door it will spread like a wildfire.

(3) Radio Shows- Get on as many radio shows as possible with clear solutions to the problems.

(4) Excite your base- Visit as many Church’s, Shul’s, Gun Clubs, Tea Party groups and other conservative places of strength and invite them to get involved.

(5) Don’t be afraid to challenge the norm and offer bold new plans for the future.

(6) Roll up your sleeves, smile but be ready for the mud that will be thrown your way and laugh it all off.

(7) Finally throw out the political consultants and use those monies to spread your message through out the state.

When a long term incumbent that has been bringing home the bacon and eggs for years is forced into a runoff the entire American people win.  Chris McDaniel held a slight lead over long term incumbent Thad Cochran in which it’s too close to call and therefor a  runoff  will presumably  have to occur.  What is incredible is that the people knew when they voted for Mr. McDaniel that they personally would not get all the Federal goodies they would get with Thad Cochran and still voted for Chris. The point is the smart people of Mississippi realized that you can’t keep spending monies that you don’t have even if that results in short term pains for them.  It is more important to experience a little pain now then put our children and grandchildren’s future in jeopardy under a mountain of debt. Congrats to Mr. McDaniel who proved honesty is still the best policy.

The problem with the Federal Government is it tries to do so many things that it neglects those who keep it’s very existence in tact. It’s time that our Veterans get the benefits that they earned and this can’t be just a campaign slogan but a philosophy edged in stone.  Here are ways that this can occur.

(1) Upon leaving the armed forces veterans receive a special medical card which they can use at any medical facility whether it be private or government-ally owned.   Initially though they will have to stop by the VA hospital to see if they can treat their illness in a timely basis.

(2) Veterans are also given a special number manned by individuals in the private and public sector to deal with any complaints in the service they receive. These complaints are sent directly to the person in charge of Veterans Affairs on a regular basis and quarterly to the President.

(3) To insure that this system can run effectively over time. Those future service men an woman will have to pay a nominal fee for this service when in the armed forces and have a small deductible to utilize these benefits upon leaving the service.

(4) Those Veterans who don’t need this medical service (because they have other plans) will receive some tax credit for not participating in this program.
