Philosophy

Let’s face it some people have it and some people don’t. Those that feel their obligation to others or causes will due the heavy lifting while those that don’t will relax in the sun.  The ones with obligations will miss many a fun event or activity in order to assure their work is done even while the other person will make it harder by not showing up.  These individuals might even fall down that ladder of success in order to make sure others can get a step forward. They are the first ones in and the last ones to leave yet many are not even recognized till it’s to late.  So today I want to recognize all those who have taken on their call to others and other causes by giving them a minute break and an extra tap on the back unfortunately I’ll be too busy helping others to give them this moment..

YES WE PICK UP THE CRAP OTHERS LEAVE BEHIND

This could be one of the biggest discoveries of your life or it might not matter at all.  It depends how you feel about this discovery.

As a businessman I always believed that people judge you by what you accomplish but instead it’s what they feel you’ve accomplished and how that makes them feel that truly hits home.  You might believe that you are listening to someone but unless they feel that you are then you might as well be talking.  You might believe that your actions show that you care but unless you make others believe you feel their pain then nothing else may matter. It’s why an actor or musician will receive greater acclaim then those who discover a cure for treating Cancer (how many people know who created Chemotherapy).  It is why we relate to our pets (especially dogs) then even some of our family members. This is also why a community organizer was elected President instead of an accomplished business person.

The key then today and tomorrow is to make sure that whatever you say or do makes others feel the way you want those words or actions to be perceived by others.  It might mean sharing credit for an accomplishment or listening with “greater intent” but then you might not need to accomplish as much.  We must realize feelings can have a greater impact then the facts we know to exist.

We all realize that it’s important to help others but the point is how far to help? If we donate too little will it just be a band aid that will easily fall off with the damage reoccurring or even increasing.  If we donate too much will it create a dependency that enslaves the person to our generosity and not permit them to showcase and develop their individual talents?  Where we draw the line is the key to whether we are truly successful in helping the individual. Here are some ways (below) we can determine where that line can be drawn.

(1) Have clear objectives that you’re initial investment in time, efforts, and monies to achieve.

(2) Insure that those objectives are met. If not decide if there is a better way to utilize these expenditures that will result in the objective. If it meets those objectives then slowly grant more resources to this individual but insure that your future objectives are being met.

(3) Once these objectives have been met then slowly lower your investment in time, efforts and monies and see how this individual is able to grow without your assistance.

(4) In the end you may hope to have a fully independent individual but even if  they still need your help. You can objectively say you’ve been successful as long you’ve continually  lessened their dependence on you.

I know this might not appear to be intellectual but there truly are cases of evil and good in society. Whether it be acts of an adult molesting a child or an individual selling heroin to a first time user evil must be eliminated. There is no need for therapy or counseling after such heinous acts. We don’t have to explore every aspect of these evil people’s life’s but  instead end them as quickly as possible.

Negotiations are useless with those that have blood of the innocent on their hands they can only be dealt with through the sword and justice.  Like an animal that has rabies these beings have lost their right to be treated like humans because they show no humanity to others and need to be eliminated instead.  Here are some of the acts that deserve this ultimate penalty.

(1) Child rapist

(2) Those that equip homicide bombers.

(3) Mass Murderers

(4) Those convicted of 1st degree murder

(5) Individuals who sell Heroin to first time users.

Of course the death penalty should only be applied after these beings have had their day in court with clear assurance that they have the right animal.

It appears now that most believe that President Obama’s policies are failing or have failed but what does the President think and why? PLEASE PICK THE ANSWER THAT BEST ANALYZES WHAT YOU BELIEVE THE PRESIDENT IS THINKING.

(1) His policies aren’t failing it’s just that the critics are out to get him. He therefore listens only to his most ardent supporters.

(2) He believes his policies are failing but doesn’t really care in the short term because he wants to distract the American people from his larger more devious plan for the future.

(3) The policies are working the way he wants it’s just he believes they will take more then one administration to notice there success.

(4) The President believes the Republicans will take over the Senate and House of Representatives and therefore plans to resign from office at that time. This way the Republicans will take the blame for the next two years or so and he can run again since he didn’t complete his term.

(5) The President is just going through the motions and doesn’t want this job anymore but likes the benefits of office.

It’s important to say you’re sorry when you’ve made an error but some people use it as an excuse to attack those who’ve truly asked for forgiveness.  When this occurs it usually makes the person attacking looking petty (unless it’s a major wrong) and makes the individual asking for repentance less likely to do it in the future. It’s also true that some people say they’re sorry as a way to get out of a situation. This can make it difficult to know whether you should accept their forgiveness or not.  Here is the way I usually handle such a situation.

(1) If there is no “track record” I usually will accept their words as if I said them.

(2) I still keep in the back of my mind what they’ve done wrong

(3) Finally I set in motion certain ways to prevent myself from being hurt from this individual in the future or lesson the blow should they act the same or similar way in the future.

LIFE CAN POINT YOU IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS

What happens the day after can be as important as what happens the day before. In life we start projects that take a great deal of time, effort and/or monies to complete yet once they’re completed what do we do next? It can be a time of reflection, relaxation or a combination of both. Yet if we don’t balance this time correctly the lane might come to an end.

I  recently finished revising a script that took me away from society norms and put me into a whole different world.  Yet I know with the ending of one project a new project will await that will challenge my abilities and consume a great  deal of time.  The time in between maybe minutes, hours or days but I plan to make the most of it but catching up with the “norms” I left behind and reflecting on how I could have been more successful with my time and effort. In the end if I utilize that in between time well I will be more successful in the future.
