Kind without Truth

beggar

We are told that it is important to be kind but without truth that kindness leads to dependency and true despair. For example if we keep giving a beggar change every time we see them without giving him/her the opportunity that individual never gets the chance to reach their potential.  Not only does that individual suffer but we as a  society suffer because that individual has lost the confidence to demonstrate his/her ability through skilled labor.

Government is a main culprit in this philosophy by giving welfare instead of workfare.  Imagine if instead of giving food stamps out the government gave the individual the ability to grow their own food and/or earn the monies to buy food, then this individual would see a path out of their despair and we would as a society would reap the benefits of their labor. It’s time kindness and truth become one and then we could truly make a difference in each others life.

Money Back Guarantee

Money Back Guarantee

Why is it that we expect a money back guarantee when a manufacture produces a defective product but don’t expect that guarantee when our government fails. For example the Affordable Care Website/Obamacare has cost the American Taxpayer over $650 million dollars without producing any of the results it was supposed to. I say that we get a refund and give those funds to Mental Health Treatment facilities. G-D know this Obamacare is making us all go a bit insane.

Leader and critic

     Leader critic

There are two basic people in life the “leader and the critic”. The leader takes a chance to make things happen while the critic analyzes their every move.  Leaders are essential in seeing that change occurs while critics insure that this change actually works. Yet if the critic becomes filled with envy, hate or fear of the leader, then their opinions can lose their validity. It is therefore essential that we look at the criticisms based on the actual facts behind the criticism not of our opinion of the leader. This will insure that society improves no matter who is truly in charge.

I heard from a reliable source that because of the “Affordable Care Act”/Obamacare that a young individual is being denied Chemotherapy that their health care normally provided. The provider is denying the coverage because  they said that this act only permits for the treatments they had up to now.    If this is correct this act might result in the death of the individual.  If this is actually occurring it is  not a Democratic or Republican issue but an issue of life and death and needs to be stopped immediately.   There are reasons why I believe the story to be true but also reasons I have my doubts.   PLEASE COMMENT EITHER WAY SO WE CAN GET TO THE TRUTH!   SIMILAR STORIES OR DISCLAIMERS ARE NEEDED.

Why PC can be dangerous

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy - No Comments

see no evil

Political Correctness can be dangerous to a society because it stops the free exchange of ideas and thoughts between various people. When an individual from a group feels that they can’t openly engage others from a different group they can become insular. This segregation of thoughts between a group can build prejudice and hate for others from a different group. For example if people who are green (political correct) believe something about people who are purple but are afraid to tell them to their face (tactfully) because of the backlash then the people are green will never know the truth about those that are purple.  They will believe those lies told and may even build on those lies that have been told. I believe the key to actually stopping prejudice is to open the conversation and allow free discourse of ideas.  Here is a way we can truly solve this problem.

(1) Bring leaders from various groups (race, religion, ethnicity) to group discussions on a regular basis.

(2) Set ground rules of words that shouldn’t be used during the discourse and don’t permit heckling of those that are speaking.

(3) Promote a question and answer section from those that attend these discussion.

(4) After the discussion break bread with the various individuals in the groups so greater trust and friendships can be made between individuals.

My personal faith

jewish prayer 2

My faith is based on the Torah (Old Testament for my Christian brothers & Sisters) but because it can be difficult to fully understand those writings then I might look to the Talmud and/or Rabbi for greater knowledge of a concept. The Talmud is interruptions and court rulings made by great wise man who wrote about the meaning behind those words.  For example in the holy book it says you can not work on the Sabbath but what truly is work? Although the writers in the Talmud are incredible learned men they are still men and to me that means they can make an error and/or interrupt a ruling based on a certain time period only. Therefore I follow the rulings that make sense in my life yet understanding and respecting others that might follow a more stricter interpretation.  I also  acknowledge that they may be right and I could be wrong with my interpretation.  I believe that as long as a person tries their best to follow G-D’s laws in their personal life then the merciful one will not only accept those individuals but love and appreciate all their efforts.
