It’s scary how current events can lead us right down the path of insanity (the script).

Foreign Aid? – With tough conditions- Egypt Bewarned

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Political - No Comments

I’m sick and tired of our hard earned monies going to countries that work against our interest. It is time that we tie that foreign aid to conditions on the ground. Here is how that could work (below).

1.  110% of the aid given to a country that practices the following points

A (25%). is our ally and a friend to our other allies

B (25)  is a democracy or leaning to it

C.  (25%), allow basic human rights to all its citizens

D.  (25%) doesn’t permit the teaching of anti-Semitic, racist or sexist in their public  school curriculum

E.  (10 %) Permits free trade between our countries.

If a country fails to fully meet any of the criteria above fully then their aid will be lessened by at least the noted amount  above ( example not a democracy or leaning -25 %)

Live T.V. -live

Americas Got Talent Live ***

I understand why they don’t charge to see T.V shows like “America’s Got Talent”  it is because unlike going to shows that you pay for you’re main mission is not be entertained but be part of the entertainment.  These shows are geared to make sure everything looks fine not to those that are attending the show but to the viewing audience. Therefore “live” performances can be performed live not once but twice and three times if need be and then edited before the viewing audience at home actually sees it. Those in the audience may be watching the video edit of such performance.  Those who attend these shows are meant to clap, laugh and scream on call as if they were actors at home. Finally while commercial breaks might seem tiresome at home there generally is very little entertainment during those breaks at a “live performance”.  One side note Howard Stern is definitely the most engaging with the live crowd .In the end I did enjoy attending the show and would do it again (with better seats)  if for no other reason then to see the behind the scenes action that occurred and the extraordinary talent that goes into making such a production.

Everyday your 1st day

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Faith, Philosophy - No Comments

Imagine if we treated everyday like your first day how different the world would be. Remember your first day at work how excited you were and how much extra effort you put to insure your c0-workers and employer respected you. The first day at school is that day when you can prove to the world that you had what it takes to succeed. The excitement you felt at your  first ball game when you heard them scream ” beer here” (probably to young to consume) and the roar of the crowd. That first special date when you were at your top of your game to get that first special kiss. The first day a politician is elected to office and feels that they have a mission not for themselves but for a cause above them.

Yet life and its cynicism, monotony, and frustrations can lead us to wanting this day to be our last day at the school, date, and or job. I say let’s bring that first day spirit back by adding something new and old to that experience. Old to remember how good it can be and new to have the excitement that new experience bring. Happy 1st day.

Stop, Question then maybe Frisk

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Political, Solutions - No Comments

I am all for security but there is a difference between security and living in a police state. We need to balance the right to feel secure on our streets with the right to feel secure being ourselves. Therefore before a police officer is allowed to “stop and frisk” these following procedures should be taken.

1) The police must work with community officials and religious leaders on a regular basis to discuss their prospective on this issue and how best to implement the policy without harassment.

2) The police must have a devise to record the incident from the beginning.

3) They must clarify to the individual why they are being stopped (ex investigation in the area)

4) They must tell the individual their rights that they have before being “frisked”

5) The police must ask a question(s) to insure that the frisk is necessary.

6) If the individual is clear of any wrong doing the police must give the individual a report stating that the time and date of the incident that they can give to an employer or friend if late for a meeting.  They must also apologize to the individual for the inconvenience and thank them for the cooperation with the investigation.

The king is back

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, food - No Comments

After a long hiatus in the battle of the fast food king I believe Burger King is back in the race.  This re-entry in the battle has occurred because of their enhanced menu including a delicious fish sandwich and various grilled chicken dishes. I believe that Burger King new  sweet potato fries is an entree that other similar food establishments don’t have. These fries are decent although I believe a dip for them (ex maple syrup) would have enhanced their flavor. They have also kept their prices very competitive with the market. Therefore McDonalds, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and KFC beware for the king has returned.
