Tesla Autopilot Joshua Brown RIP

Joshua Brown’s death at the hands of the Tesla Autopilot proves one thing we should never take our eye’s off the road no matter who is driving.  Just because we have the luxury of having robotic control of our driving machine doesn’t mean that human awareness needs to turn off.  It takes a combination of human and computer controls to get us to where we are going today and when they work together it can be the perfect mix but if I had to chose I’d still stay with the one made of bones and blood not wiring.  For a machine doesn’t worry/feel about itself and others while the death of Joshua Brown causes pain for many of his loved ones including himself. RIP Joshua Brown.

Photogenic or not

photogenic 1  photogenic 2

Some have a look that leaves the lense wide open while others need to have it covered up. It’s strange because in the natural world this look could be reversed but somehow when the camera points in their direction their frown turns upside down or inside out.  They say a picture tells a thousand words but I believe it depends on whom that camera is focusing on that matters. Just like acting some have and some don’t. There might be lessons to get better in front of the camera but lets face some should be in the photo’s and others should just be taking them.

Anthem of the Seas- Trip Review

Cruise ship 2  Anthem of the Seas 2

Anthem of the Seas was the trip that ended way to soon.  The activities aboard the ship (see below) insured that time moved too quickly even when it rained. Of course if you decide to slow down time by resting the 2 pools (indoor & outdoor) gave you plenty of time to do just that but for extra active people such as I this trip was time well spent even if it passed like a day. The Dynamic dining led to many choices that aren’t available on many other ships and although it’s not 5 star the food satisfies the active stomach. I know part of the journey of such a trip is the destination but I went more for the travel then the arrival and both exceeded their marks.  The only negative comment I find is there wasn’t that personal touch that help lead you and your group to the correct path and the journey to fun was all up to you.  I’m glad that this is path  I could navigate.

ACTIVITIES PARTICIPATED IN AND REVIEW

(1) Air Hockey-Dynamo table need I say more- extra $$

(2) Thriller Dance Class- Difficult but loads of fun.

(3) Shows- The best show was “The Gift” but I had a bit more fuel to enjoy it yet any show featuring Van Halen 5150 is a winner to me.  “We will Rock You” didn’t rock me that much for the story was too silly but I kept tapping my foot. Spectre was meant for those taking the illegal form of fuel although it was quite entertaining.

(4) Bon Jovi tribute band one word… AWESOME

(5) Dodgeball  loads of fun even if I lasted a minute

(6) Art Auction- All I can say is a bought some paintings when my attention was to get a free glass of Champagne.

(7) FlowRider- I became an expert surfer (in my mind) after 2 tries do to a great instructor and “hanging loose”. Bring a towel it gets windy in the back of the ship.

(8) Ripcord- I’m now ready to jump out of plane or at least see it in the movies. Awesome feeling that needs to be experienced at least once.

(9) Gym- It wasn’t NYSC  but it’s good to change up the routine and there assortment of machines helped make sure the lbs of eating went to the right spot. Benching is a bit more challenging.

(10) Karaoke- Who doesn’t enjoy singing among total strangers? Of course I don’t but they might … those tomatoes were delicious.

My Faith Test Tonight

Posted by Bruce - in basic judaism, Blog, Faith - No Comments

faith

Tonight my own personal faith journey might be brought to a whole new level. Will I openly and vocally express that journey or keep it among a few close friends? Tonight that decision will be made and how it’s determined will surprise you!  My faith journey lies somewhere in the middle between those that are more traditional and those that are more personal.  In other words I have a unique way to express this faith at times and at other times will follow the flow.  Here is the sequence (below) that had me chart this path.

(1) Yesterday out of know where a Power Ball Ticket was placed at my workstation which I took as a sign to play.

(2) Returning home a drenching rain suddenly lead to a beautiful rainbow that dissipated before opening the door.

(3) Suddenly I was called to be the 10th man at a Sabbath evening service and accepted this request.

From these signs if I was to win the Powerball drawing tonight I will utilize a great deal of those funds to go public with my personal faith journey and even if I came in a close 2nd that would be the case.  If on the other hand I don’t win then I will accept that my journey is still meant to be personal and kept within the confides of my loved ones.  I willingly accept G-D’s verdict either way.

There for you.

You use me everyday and I bring you great comfort but do you even acknowledge my existence? Where else do you go when you need a moment or hour to relax yet I’m pushed down and left with an imprint of you for hours is that right? I guess you feel close but closeness has it’s limits and I’m getting tired of being sat on like a …. oh yeah I guess you’re right.  Next time it would be nice though if you could acknowledge me or at least use a different part of your body I’m beginning to smell.

WHO AM I?

Leading Fears

Humble leader humble leader 2

You didn’t actually look for this position but some how were pulled or pushed into it.  Maybe there was nobody with the talent or experience that could step ahead so you took the chance to lead and it’s more scary then you thought. For all of a sudden people who a moment ago just thought you were part of the gang now look to you to inspire them with your words and actions yet you haven’t changed from that previous moment or have you?  We could only imagine the emotions Moses would have felt when G-D chose him to lead the Jewish people out of Egypt. It is written that he was truly a humble man so how could he take such a decisive role.  Leadership must therefore come not only through personal strength but strength of character and values with a strong dash of humility. Understanding that this is a role you have been given/selected and yet you are still wearing the same suit as others, only to walk a few feet ahead but still knowing where you came from to get to these steps.
