I’ll take it.

than you

I used to search for my compliments directed at me but now I’ll take even those in my vicinity.  They may have said the dog was cute but maybe deep down inside it was directed to me and I say thank you.  That outfit my brother is wearing might get all the attention but maybe it was truly directly the beautiful sweatpants I’m wearing. Sometimes people  might be afraid to tell it to my face so  I say,  thank you.  You might ask I deal with the less friendly comments that are made in my directions?  Of course sometimes others might mean to speak to my brother or the dog.

An unusual perspective

It wasn’t long ago that those who had “homosexual tendencies” were treated for mental health problems. The mental health society believed that this deviant behavior harmed the individual and needed to be treated like any mental health condition. Today that community generally believes that this is a behavior that doesn’t harm the individual or society as a whole. Could this be said for some of those with delusional thoughts?

Are there some individuals who have been through such a traumatic experience like the murder of a loved one, molestation etc that it would be better escaping into a fantasy world then be treated with years and years of painful therapy? Is the truth truly the best way to deal with life or could an alternate reality be more helpful? We all find ways to escape our daily small problems whether it be through movies, music or even fantasy role playing maybe some of us need a bigger escape route.  WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?  I’D LOVE TO KNOW.

Addiction vs Habit

ADDICTIONS ENSLAVE US HABITS LIBERATE US

How do you define if you are truly addicted or it’s just a habit. The definition of addiction is listed below but where does a habit turn into an addiction? If you constantly participate in an activity or eat/drink a certain substance on a daily basis are you addicted? If so call me a chocolate blog writing addict?

I believe addiction occurs when an individual can’t substitute that feeling he receives from that substance or activity with another and feels like he/she needs it to survive. They actually don’t even feel the initially high they had with “it” but would feel sick without it. When such action occurs then truly treatment might be the answer to this problem so you can truly find the joy and happiness in all the wonderful things life has to offer instead of being imprisoned by one.

Addiction is characterized by inability to consistently abstain, impairment in behavioral control, craving, diminished recognition of significant problems with one’s behaviors and interpersonal relationships, and a dysfunctional emotional response

There was a time not so long ago where people were treated for homosexuality at a mental health clinic. At that time society had determined that this was an abhorrent behavior that harmed the individual.  Today  those in the mental health field believe that this behavior is not “harmful” for the individual and their treatment is not necessary.  How about if this analysis’s was extended to a select few that are delusional?

Is it truly better for individuals who suffered from such traumatic experiences in the past such as witnessing a loved ones murder, molestation etc. to go through years of painful treatment or  could an escape in a fantasy world be more helpful ? In other words is the truth truly the best medicine in all cases? Could someone actually be more successful in their life experiences if they never had to relieve the pain even if if it wasn’t real?  These prov-active questions came up as I watched a recent movie that I won’t give up the title of because it would definitely be a spoiler.  What do you think?

A little Rebellious

rebel

I decided to let my rebel spirit influence this blog.  It is not that I recommend that you eat sugar, salt and smoke (I strongly discourage it) but I’m being a bit rebellious because after years of abstinence now they tell me eggs and bacon is good for you, in the morning. It’s also important that people know all the facts not just the facts presented by the media complex.

A true Job

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Health - No Comments

hard work

Everyday you believe that you’re job is the most difficult but nothing compares to Job.  People might wonder how we keep faith but they haven’t really studied Job.  This might appear to be a difficult read but not as difficult as Job.

Job is a man challenged by Satan himself with not only disasters upon his entire family and fortune but himself as well as the evil one tries to have him curse the only one.  It is a difficult to read how such a good person must go through literally hell on earth to prove his loyalty to G-D. Yet his story is bits and pieces of our story as prayers appear to go unanswered and we suffer through many life’s hard moments.

Just like Job if we can hold the faith during these moments we will see a new day arising with joy and happiness along the way. This day may appear beyond our reach but the finger of the almighty will bring us to it. It is truly a job of the hardest work but just like any hard work it’s value will last well past the pain and hardship because in the end G-D loves you and will seek your redemption.

Change Haircut

Nothing showcases a change in a person better then a haircut. You can go from a “Rock Star” to a “Wall Street Executive in less then 15 minutes. It’s amazing how people will not only look at you differently after such a change but speak to you differently as well.  This haircut creates the appearance that this person  has cut or added some brain cells as well (depending on your prospective).   So if you’re really ready for a change I suggest you sit in this seat (below). Maybe a different barber might be safer.

Find the enemy with fleas

CAUTION -This blog piece isn’t for terrorist or terrorist wanna a bees. Please note it’s published by a proud American Zionist so there is nothing gained by reading further.

flea

War is hard and one of the hardest parts is to find your enemy before they find you, that is where fleas come in.  A special group of fleas is dropped in an enemy camp. The fleas then attack the human residence. Soldiers equipped with special glasses can identify those fleas and how they move as a person itches at them or reacts to them. This gives us away the enemy position and enables them to be quickly eliminated on the battlefield.

Not one penny to the Palestinian territories until….

shelter

There are critics that say the United States can’t do anything with the missiles being launched on the the innocent by Hamas but they don’t understand the power of the purse strings. If the United States would cut off all aid to the Palestinian Territories until they seize sending rockets into well populated areas in Israel, then this conflict would probably seize tomorrow.  If I’m wrong with my analysis then at least I’ll be confident that not a penny of American monies are going to terrorists looking to wreck havoc on innocent civilians.   In wartime sometimes the innocent are hurt or die in the conflict but they should never be the target of such a conflict.
