There was a time not so long ago where people were treated for homosexuality at a mental health clinic. At that time society had determined that this was an abhorrent behavior that harmed the individual. Today those in the mental health field believe that this behavior is not “harmful” for the individual and their treatment is not necessary. How about if this analysis’s was extended to a select few that are delusional?
Is it truly better for individuals who suffered from such traumatic experiences in the past such as witnessing a loved ones murder, molestation etc. to go through years of painful treatment or could an escape in a fantasy world be more helpful ? In other words is the truth truly the best medicine in all cases? Could someone actually be more successful in their life experiences if they never had to relieve the pain even if if it wasn’t real? These prov-active questions came up as I watched a recent movie that I won’t give up the title of because it would definitely be a spoiler. What do you think?
