An unusual perspective

It wasn’t long ago that those who had “homosexual tendencies” were treated for mental health problems. The mental health society believed that this deviant behavior harmed the individual and needed to be treated like any mental health condition. Today that community generally believes that this is a behavior that doesn’t harm the individual or society as a whole. Could this be said for some of those with delusional thoughts?

Are there some individuals who have been through such a traumatic experience like the murder of a loved one, molestation etc that it would be better escaping into a fantasy world then be treated with years and years of painful therapy? Is the truth truly the best way to deal with life or could an alternate reality be more helpful? We all find ways to escape our daily small problems whether it be through movies, music or even fantasy role playing maybe some of us need a bigger escape route.  WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?  I’D LOVE TO KNOW.
