No to new!

newscared of change

Why when new ideas or suggestions brought up that there is always someone who says “No!” We can’t deny that some new ideas might not be so good or might not truly be new at all but usually there is more to that no. Here are a few reasons that No is usually heard with new.

(1) FEAR- People are used to a certain way of life and fear change. Some people could be eating rice and beans all their life and fear adding fish because they worry what will happen to their rice and beans.

(2) CONTROL- When a new idea is brought up they fear that they will lose control. This individual who brings up the new idea will receive all the credit and they will be forgotten about.

(3) CLOSED- Individual may not accept that there could be something new outside the box because that is the box.  They actually search for a moral cause or tradition that makes them have to stay in that box.

Once we understand the quandary some individuals are in we can either try to find a way for them to escape it or understand that we might not be able to change there opinion. Rest assured though once the idea is accepted that it will become old very soon with those same people and then they won’t want to change it again.

2 Hour Power

NOT THIS JUMP BUT IT WAS CLOSE

I did it!  I only slept two hours last night and I’m still rockin. I think the book “Lone Survivor” inspired me as I learned that during ” Hell Week” they can stay awake up to 60 hours.  My day was not as brutal as theirs but I had to survive the Bronx and a work out at my gym.

This all occurred last night when I arrived home from my trip to Las Vegas after 1:30AM.  I promptly tried to got to bed but my puppy had alternate plans which kept me up at least an hour later. I woke up this morning at 4:45 AM (ok it’s over 2 hours but I’m close).  So if tonight if I fall asleep during the President’s State of The Union address I may not be able to blame the President but I probably still will.

State of Confusion

State of the Union

Mr. President I think you might be a bit confused so I hope you have a chance to read this before your big speech tonight. We are all happy that you are unsatisfied with income inequality but maybe you’re confused about your role. Let me explain see the President (you) can enact policies that hurt or help job growth and as such enable those who are suffering to move up in class. Unfortunately your policies on job creators have hurt those people you say you want to help. Here’s a few tips you might want to add to your speech to truly help those less fortunate.

(1) Tax Simplification- If we truly make it easier for the taxpayer to fill out this paper work they can spend more time creating businesses. You might consider flatten the tax base.

(2) Lower Regulations. It’s very hard for those job creators to create those jobs when regulations are always in the way.

(3) Create a two-tier system for the minimum wage so those that are chronically unemployed have a stepping stone to get in the work force and enable those that don’t have experience (like our youth) the opportunity for their first job.

I have a hundred more ideas but I know you have to get ready for your big speech so if you can incorporate the top three that would be wonderful just remember your role.  As President you should find a way to work with all your employees whether they be Republican or Democrat because you are their public servant.  If for some reason you can’t work with them then it’s not time to take their power but to relinquish your own.

Carrot Top in Las Vegas

carot top

Carrot Top showed us the complete package at the Luxor Hotel. This was the type of comedy routine you see once in a lifetime with prop humor that was truly originally, topical and just plain hilarious.   Yet it wasn’t just the prop humor that was incredible but his incredible imitation on the various forms of music including breathing.  Carrot Top not only poked fun at the current list of celebrities but some of his best jokes came at the expense of himself. I knew there was a reason my mother told me to eat my vegetables.

*** 1/2 Carrots – I’d give him 4 but the opening act took a 1/2 away

WARNING this show is not for young children or for those easily offended especially with phallic symbols.

TSA-Special Treatment

tsa

Yesterday I felt like a celebrity at least as it comes to the TSA. For some reason the TSA didn’t require me to get half naked to board a plane. I could actually walk through a standard security system without them seeing me naked and with my shoes and hat on. What was going on did they know I was about to play in the Super Bowl  (in my head) or that they nominated my film “All Screwed Up” for the Oscarrss (It’s a new award) maybe it was just that my socks were dirty.  They told me that this was only a sample test they were running but I think they might know something big is about to happen in my life and the hundred other people that got this special treatment.
