I’ve been born and raised in NY but I still can’t get the country out of my heart and I love it.  As a young man I was raised to rock and roll and disdain  country which was  easy until Garth Brooks taught me to twang and you’all with a bit of guitar riff.  Don’t get me wrong I still luv Rock and Roll and a full range of various other genre’s of music but country touches my heart in a way other forms of music haven’t been able.  Here are just a few reasons this boy from NY is a still a country fan.

(1) Great Lyrics- The poetic nature of the music tells stories that other forms of music are in most cases lacking these days.

(2) Real Instruments- Much of today’s music is too electronic and therefore looses it’s authenticity but country still has real guitars, drums and of course the fiddle.

(3) Loyalty- Individual artist and groups have loyal fans that enable these artists to continue performing much longer then artists in other genre’s. This enables an artist to experiment with various songs without worrying that one miss will destroy their career.

(4) Clean Fun- Country artist generally don’t try to push the envelope into the garbage to sell a record but instead rely on the raw talent of the artist to succeed.  Most of this music can be heard by the entire family without having to switch stations in between a song.

Traffic 2

We can an agree traffic sucks. It adds to air pollution, ruins relationships, waste time, hurts business productivity, and causes unnecessary suffering for millions. We also can agree that most of the traffic is caused by accidents. Here are a few solutions that might help alleviate this problem.

(1) A manufacturer that develops a technology that has been proven to prevent accidents (some already exist) and enable that technology to be installed on older as well as new cars at a reasonable price will not pay taxes on the profits received from such a technology.

(2) A company will pay no taxes on a device(s) that has been proven to enables traffic to move more effectively after an accident or allows a way for accidents to be cleaned up quicker. The company must insure that these devices are available to all safety officials at a price they can afford to receive such benefit noted above.

Feeling Stuck

Stuck in a box

At times in a our life we feel stuck. It could be a deadend job that you have to hold to pay the bill, a relationship that is losing all chemistry, or going through the same routine day after day. The truth is you feel like your stuck in a box and don’t have a way to get out of it. Here’s a few ways that box can open.

(1) Take an extra minute to smell the coffee. In other words look how much you’ve achieved from walking in diapers to the life you have.

(2) Buy yourself that extra fancy cup of coffee or save a few pennies (now probably quarters) to buy yourselve that little item you’ve denied yourselve because of financial constraints. Make this a regular part of your week plans.

(3) Take a break- Give yourselve a few extra minutes to read a book, write a blog (not as good as this one), or cook that special meal.

(4) Make a long term plan and save a few dollars each week to achieve that plan.

(5) Get involved in charity work that you actually enjoy in your community whether thru a Church, Shul, or community center

(6) Turn off the news for a few minutes and turn on some good music instead.

(7) Realize that G-D gave you another day and therefore the Lord has a special plan for you and loves you.
