My Personal Diary-6-05-15

diary

Sorry diary but it’s been quite hectic lately and yet I couldn’t find anything key to write about until now.

PURPOSE Throughout one’s life we search for our purpose and at different periods the meaning for our existence might change. When I was younger it was just get through school and to work on my own. Later after years of working I wanted to be educated again. Today I believe that of course it is to make sure I provide a decent life for my loved ones, see some of my thoughts be discussed in the public sphere, and also to make sure that I open doors to discussion and debates from prominent clergy.

INTERFAITH DISCUSSION-  Although I lost all my notes at the last minute some how it all came together just right for our Interfaith Dialogue between a Rabbi, Imam and Minister on “Why Faith Is Important”.  The clergy provided such deep insight and I actually believe I did a decent job as a moderator.  I really want to see how far I can take this because I believe these voices need to be heard more then ever.

APPLEBEE’S – Today my daughter starts her first day as a hostess at Applebee’s and although it’s only a temporary job much of what occurs falls on my shoulders, since I pushed her to take this position.

50th Birthday!

50th Birthday!

I haven’t made it yet but let’s just say I’m no spring chicken (maybe an old rooster). Too be honest the big 50 is less then a year away and when I turn (G-D willing) it’s going to be cold for many of my friends and family to celebrate, so I’m going to extend the party to the summer with a weekend at a local resort. I won’t be paying the full bill but will add some extra’s to those that decide to join me and also hope that a portion of those funds will go to a charity as a well.  So if your ready to party like you’ve turned 21 (forget 50) make sure you leave the month of August 2016 open with details coming shortly…..

G-D spelled?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Faith, Uncategorized - No Comments

If you’ve read my blogs in the past you’ll notice I don’t write the full name of the supreme being/creator out. This is because G-D is one name above all else and therefore I want to make sure I don’t take thy name in vain and always think about G-D in a special way every time I incorporate it into my writings.  It also insures that if  my writing is thrown out or deleted at some point that the full name of the creator isn’t destroyed as well.  In a world where many things and even people are taken for granted spelling the creator as G-D makes sure that I come back to the truth.

A Rabbi, Minister & Imam walk …..

faith together

A Rabbi, Minister & Imam walk into a Synagogue (sorry there’s no punch line) and leave the audience spellbound!  The discussion on “Is Faith Important Today” was so compelling that we will be providing a full length version to the general public and shopping around a reel for a possible radio or even television show. No where else could you get a honest discussion on such an important issue in a concise format.  Yet why stop there too many people are missing out on the spiritual messages from our learned clergy and that is why I will dedicate a great deal of time and resources to see that we expand on this discussion.   G-D willing this will work and the lives of those that listen will be a bit better here and even in the hereafter.

Ostentatious vs Subtle

osten subtle 2

When one brings a new product or service to market you must also decide if you want it to be an Ostentatious or subtle introduction. Do you want to slowly build a loyal following or grab them from the first shot? It might appear that the more direct approach will seem sensible but sometimes boldness can have a higher upfront cost (advertising, marketing etc) and a lower long term outcome.  Here are a few factors (below) one must consider.

(1) Short term profits vs long term profits

(2) How much monies you are willing to put into marketing and advertising?

(3) Can you create a loyal niche following slowly or do you have to grab their attention right away?

(4) How crowded is the marketplace and what makes your product/service stand out?

(5) Does your product/service have a long term future or is just a “Pet Rock” fad?

day off

Here is your challenge if you dare!   Go to Starbucks order a drink, food and dessert and spend less then $10.00 (not including tax) without any coupons. To make it even harder it has to taste delicious. I’ve done it!  Can you?

clock

If you had an extra minute added to your day what would you do with it? Here are a few you could spend your time.

1. Give your loved one a hug

2.Finish that article you barely read.

3. Write that thought on your blog.

4. Catch the last minute of your favorite show.

5. Listen to part of your favorite song.

6. Pray for an extra minute.

Day Off!

day off

Trust me I’m no Ferris Bueller but tomorrow there’s a good chance that my blog will be empty.  No, I’m not going to party at a baseball game or join in some parade (although that wouldn’t be such a bad idea) I’m just tied up with work and too many responsibilities for the day. Unlike my friend Ferris I’m actually going to miss being here (not literally but mindly-new word)with you and who knows maybe I’ll sneak in a word or two but for now count me as Mr. Ferris… at least for the day.

Political Convictions

blind justice looking

As I started reading Bernard Kerik’s book from “Jailer to Jailed” it dawned on me how blind justice has kept looking in my lifetime.  There have been so many people sent up the river not for what they did but who they were.  What I’m saying is if you had taken the same criminal activity with a different individual they would have received a tap on the wrist or even walked away but because this individual was “political incorrect” their punishment didn’t meet the crime.  I’m concerned that the DA’s office might be more concerned with getting a celebrity behind bars then to see that justice is truly served.  Whether it be Bernard Kerik, Leona Helmsley, Martha Stewart or even Ray Donovan (what department do I go to get my name back) it’s time that lady justice becomes blind again.  It’s time that justice not try to set an example for the rest of us but be just to all of us.
