2016 presidential candidates

Many a supporter will become disillusioned when their “Presidential Candidate” pulls out of the race to the point of losing interest in the entire process.  Would you stop looking for an employment position if you didn’t get your first choice? No, you would instead try to find a position that was as good as you can get and that should also occur with supporting candidates for office.  I understand that you need to work to pay the bills but you also need a government to make sure there is a country you’re working in.  With that in mind here is my current top 5 (below) of the candidates that are seeking the highest office in the land. Please note that I also include eligibility and ability to govern as key factors because words need to follow with action.

Marco Rubio-  Has the package including strong policy positions (especially in foreign policy key to this years election), strong character, different youth look for party, can get Reagan Democrats and independent woman to vote for him, knows how to work with other side without changing values, great story and can raise money for competitive race. His biggest negative is that he only served two years in the Senate and his change in immigration policy but these can work to his advantage with the right political messaging.

Scott Walker- Has most of the package and adds executive leadership to the package as well.  His biggest negatives include having unions fired up against his run and he doesn’t have an strong appeal to Hispanics and woman. Which would make it a bit more difficult for him to be elected and lead the Marco Rubio.

Mike Huckabee- Effective governor who mounted a strong campaign in 2008  who has great oratory skills.  His biggest negatives are some of the controversial decisions he made as governor (pardoning prisoners, tax increases etc) and can he get cross over votes as an outspoken social conservative who was an active minister.

Rick Perry-   A governor with a strong track record of success in Texas and appeared to be the darling of the conservatives in 2008 until he opened his mouth in the debates. Can he recover from these blunders, change his image and raise the monies to run an effective campaign will have to be determined.

Ted Cruz- Strong policy positions and a darling of those who want outspoken leadership. Senator Cruz must though get votes from those who don’t share his way of getting things done and even those who might not agree with his positions in simple words is he likable enough to be elected and to govern effectively.

STRONG BACKUP- Ben Carson & Carly Fiorina- Intelligent candidates with great resumes except in the area of political experience.  Will the American people vote for a person who has never been elected for office to hold the highest elected office in the land.

Just like any horse race this race might change depending on who gets ahead of who once the race has truly begun.

Fingerprint Data

fingerprint 2

Imagine a time when you don’t have to carry a wallet, resume or any other pertinent papers with you because it will all be literally at your fingerprint. FINGERPRINT DATA will allow you to store all relevant information about you that can be brought up by a store merchant to pay for goods, TSA agent as you go through the airport, or even that perfectly clean resume when searching for a new position.  As long as you don’t lose your fingerprint the data will always be with and easily accessible to those that carry a “Fingerprint Data” scanner.   FINGERPRINT DATA because the future is cleaner, faster and truly easier then ever before.

Sometimes it takes a Rabbi

confused

There are sections of the Torah/Bible that appear not relevant to today’s times when we read them alone but when advised by clergy their relevance shines through. The clergy have this unique perspective because they truly study the material deeper then we do and continue their studies.  For example when reading about a Metzora, a person who becomes unclean with appearance on their body and/or possessions the layman might conclude this is some type of infection that today we could treat with antivirus drug but they miss the entire point. The Metzora is infected because of speaking ill about another person that leads to gossip.  Just like the effects gossip can have on a community we shouldn’t allow it to continue to spread.  We should isolate these contentious words as we would isolate a person who suffered the conditions of Metzora.  Without the discussion with a clergy member we might miss this whole point and as such miss the most relevant part of this reading.

Silent Heroes

helping hand

Everyday heroes walk our streets without anyone recognizing them.  These are individuals who don’t have a badge or uniform but perform acts that make a significant difference in the community but few even notice. Here are a just two of these heroes please add to the list.

(1) Loved ones who try to help those who are suffering from mental illness.  These individuals truly put their own mental and sometimes physical safety at risk to try to see that their loved ones get the proper treatment they need so that they don’t hurt themselves or others in the community

(2)Those who give a 2nd/3rd chance to an Ex-Con. Here are individuals who are willing to give an individual a 2nd chance even while many others fear doing so. There act of bravery may help insure that those with criminal records don’t add to that record.

Dealing with mental illness.

mental health

For those who have loved one’s with an untreated mental health condition it’s if they have the sickness as well.  For their world can suddenly appear insane when they deal with such individuals.  Where walking on eggshells becomes so scary because you never know what will trigger an episode and how such an episode will end.  What is equally confusing for those who deal with untreated mental health individuals is the ability for those with mental health conditions to act as if they episode never occurred in the first place and if it did it wasn’t that bad.  The more that you become entwined in their life the more the confusion takes hold in your life and without proper outlets the confusion can take over. Yet when those who have mental illness are treated these individuals and there families usually live a productive, healthy and happy life.    That’s why organizations such as NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) are so vital to our own health as a country.  This organization not only advocates for those with mental health to get the resources they need but also provides the tools and techniques to help their loved one understand and deal better with those individuals who are suffering.   In tight economic times and difficult budgets this is one charity that can’t be cut.

Fishing is cruel.

fishing 3

I know this blog post annoys some of my friends who love the “sport” and I’m not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I have to state fishing appears cruel. For while many oppose hunting because you kill an animal at least the death of such an animal is quick with one gun shot while the fish struggles for air during it’s time of death.  Can you imagine being taken out of earth and struggling to take your last breath?  I also understand that this “sport” brings fathers & sons together for a day in the nature but isn’t there another activity that could be just as satisfying.  Many will say I’m a hypocrite because I love to eat fish but there is a difference between eating a fish and having their life and death used for my amusement.  There are many that catch and release a fish and that is definitely better then the alternative yet I’m sure the fish don’t find this activity amusing for them.   For my fisherman friends I know this blog post wasn’t your favorite but I thought it was a perspective you should consider and maybe also a different leisurely activity.

Boycott “The New Odd Couple”

the odd couple

Most boycott’s are based on objections to the message a particular show is portraying  my boycott is based on quality.  You would assume a show with the premise of the original concept would have some basics quality/comedy value but you know what they say when you assume you make an ass of you and me.  “The New Odd” couple has clearly proven that proverb and shouldn’t be allowed to degrade the name of the original genius show anymore.   I understand and respect freedom of speech but if this speech destroys the brain cells of our youth then maybe we should reconsider.  You might say with this theory that we shouldn’t allow any reality shows to exist (excluding Shark Tank) and you might be right but let’s start with the worst example first “The New Odd Couple”. If you agree please sign this petition  (below) and share with friends.

We the undersigned will boycott “The New Odd Couple” because it degrades the memory of the classic “The Odd Couple show” furthermore we believe shows such as this can destroy thinking cells.

Rand Paul 2016 great for…

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy, Political, Uncategorized - No Comments

Rand Paul

Rand Paul a deep thinker.

Rand Paul is smart, charismatic, principled leader who would be great in the White House …. as a cabinet member.  His libertarian philosophy has great appeal to many disenchanted voters and his developing conservative philosophy  on many issues including foreign policy is heartening but it’s a little too late for me.  The defense of our nation and it’s allies must be in the forefront of any candidate who seeks the Presidency it can’t be evolving philosophy but one that is truly in the heart and soul of such a candidate. For a President must not only respond to people’s perception of threats but also be able to persuade  the citizen’s of the seriousness of such a threat and the need for a proper response.  Rand Paul needs to continue to play a vital role in the next (G-D willing) Republican administration whether it be as an NSA chairman or other cabinet position but as President other candidates (Marco Rubio, Scott Walker etc) are more qualified for that position.

This App will record the last 2 minutes of your favorite show or sporting event so you can catch the excitement without being late for work and/or classes.  It even will provide a 30 second trailer of what occurred previously so you won’t feel that you’ve missed too much.  The 2 MINUTE APP catches the excitement you want in your fantasy world but not the drama in the real world.
