Dealing with mental illness.

mental health

For those who have loved one’s with an untreated mental health condition it’s if they have the sickness as well.  For their world can suddenly appear insane when they deal with such individuals.  Where walking on eggshells becomes so scary because you never know what will trigger an episode and how such an episode will end.  What is equally confusing for those who deal with untreated mental health individuals is the ability for those with mental health conditions to act as if they episode never occurred in the first place and if it did it wasn’t that bad.  The more that you become entwined in their life the more the confusion takes hold in your life and without proper outlets the confusion can take over. Yet when those who have mental illness are treated these individuals and there families usually live a productive, healthy and happy life.    That’s why organizations such as NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) are so vital to our own health as a country.  This organization not only advocates for those with mental health to get the resources they need but also provides the tools and techniques to help their loved one understand and deal better with those individuals who are suffering.   In tight economic times and difficult budgets this is one charity that can’t be cut.
