Let’s demand reliability first

reliable

I don’t know about you but I’m getting tired of people that are unreliable.  I’m sick and tired of giving some people opportunities that they just squander. These individuals destroy my productivity, create problems with associates and lower the positive attitude I bring to each day. I’d rather hear the truth about your skills and ability from the start then hear the excuses and complaints later.

We need to work harder to  insure we value those who are reliable even if they lack other characteristics.  They may not be the most friendly but who truly needs a friendly “Dry Cleaner” what we need is our clothes cleaned.  It’s great if we can get both but from now on reliability is going to my key to deciding whether you get my business.  How about you?

I might once in awhile get suckered in by a good smile though.

The truth is the truth.

zero tolerance 2zero tolerance

It’s amazing when people with such diverse opinions on many subjects can come together with common sense.  The Policy of getting rid of “Zero Tolerance” is such a cause. It is a policy that those from the right have been complaining about for years and now the administration has decided to jump in.

This law was put into effect to prevent acts of violence at schools but instead has brought out the P.C Police where even saying the word bang can subject a student to suspension.  When you silence people from speaking they are more likely to act out on the thoughts that are bottled up inside.  Policies like “Zero Tolerance” were adapted with good intentions but like other “extreme measures” went way to far. “Zero Tolerance” have made “criminals of thousands of innocent children who were suspended or put under the microscope for even the smallest infraction.  This has put an unnecessary label on many innocent student and left them stigmatized.   The “truth is the truth” and therefore when bad policies are put into effect from the right or left they need to be thrown out not our students.

Today I took a strong stand!

In my normal course of business I do my best to avoid almost any conflict but today I decided to fight back. It is only the most extreme acts that normally will get me to react.  Yet but  today I decided to take a stronger stance.

Most of the time when you let your emotions dictate your behavior you can end with angry emotions and unproductivity at work. Yet if you don’t tell people what you believe then they can walk all over you. Therefore in the world of business it is a fine balancing act that you must perform everyday.

Today’s experiment left me a bit more agitated then normal but also enabled me to vent out those emotions I have bottled up for too long. There were some individuals that I knew wouldn’t take responsibility so I just said my peace and moved on while others admitted mistakes and found my advise helpful.  Although I didn’t fall off the balance beam today there were too many times I was bit shaky so I will try to perfect this art in order to not only be a better business person but a better person as a whole.

The benefits of being lost

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, funny, Philosophy - No Comments

bright side

I think we lose items for our own benefit. No I’m not a sadist or masochists at least I don’t think so but there are benefits to the craziness that occurs when losing an item.  Here are just a few.

(1) EXERCISE- You run around your whole house looking for the item instead of just watching the boob tube.

(2) ORGANIZATION- We are forced to actual organize our papers.

(3) SPIRITUAL GROWTH- It forces us to pray for example “G-D something”

(4) TEAM WORK- Families can come together to help look for the item especially if it’s keys and you have no other way to get to the airport.

The truth is I would give up all these benefits if I could just find those f****** checks.

Stop hurting the unemployed!

It’s time someone in Congress truly stands up for the long term unemployment.  They are sick of getting hand outs and want a job instead.  These individuals generally realize the longer they’re unemployed the more likely they become dependent on the system and the less desirable they look to a possible employer. What they may not realize is that unemployment lowers their self confidence and ability to get such a job.   How can we create jobs where they don’t appear to exist? We must realize that the world  is not black and white and there are many different solutions. You might be against extend unemployment benefits because you truly want to help those who are disadvantaged.  Here are just a few ways we can help I’m sure you can add some to the list.

(1) Help the chronic unemployed move to areas of job growth for example out of Detroit and into North Dakota. This might occur by helping to offset moving expenses or giving a tax credit to companies to offset their cost of moving such an individual.

(2) Use the FDR method. As many might know I’m not the biggest fan of this President but a good idea is a good idea no matter where it comes. After a certain cut out date require those who chronically unemployed to have to do community work for their benefits. The work could be helping build housing for those serving in the military, being a teachers assistant in an overcrowded school or cleaning the street.

(3) Let the long term unemployed pool their benefits together to create a new small business in their area. In the Bronx we could use a few new Deli’s.

If necessary I  would be happy along with other Americans to pay more taxes in order to insure those least among us truly have the stepping stone to escape government dependency.

PAST: The entrepreneurial spirit is a part of who I am. My first creative venture came when I was in High School as I started selling Ferrara Sunglasses during free periods. I also had a Flea Market stand at Roosevelt Field in which I sold a variety of items including towels and sunglasses. I created a sales representative business when I was in college where I sold custom sweatshirt and items to various teams and clubs. When I left college I started a sales representative company for a building material company. Budrebel Productions LLC. is my latest creative endeavor in the entrepreneurial dream.

PRESENT: I finally got a lock on the location we need to produce our short. I survived the coldest day without freezing maybe because I worked my butt off. I also misplaced some checks sometimes I think too fast.

FUTURE: I’m excited to visit the shoot to produce our short.  I’m also excited to receive my rough letter for PPC & our new logo.

Too much Clothes                                           Now that’s more like it.

I’d like to see them try this today in NY while I’m wearing my nice thermal underwear and top.  Come on there’s plenty of room at the beach and you won’t have to wait for parking. I’ll even throw in a towel.  So let’s start swimming Mr. & Mrs. Polar Bear.

Is this getting confusing or am I getting old?

Technology appears to be changing in leaps and bounds and I’m just jumping. In other words once I think I understand the latest advancement I found out that three more advancements have been made which I have no clue about.  Please see the latest advancement (below) and feel free to explain it to me I’m still trying to get the date right on my VCR while playing my 8 tracks.

How do they do it?

It’s amazing that those in the clergy can go from the joyous occasion of a wedding to the truly sad event like a funeral in a day without going insane.  How do they keep from being cynical after going through so many huge ups and downs in such a short time?  We layman and woman can be tempted to lose faith after one or two major down turns yet they not only have to maintain faith for themselves but for their entire congregations after many such traumatic events.  The next time we go to Church, Shul, or Mosques maybe we should think about this and instead of expecting a hug from our clergy give them one in return.
