Chris Christie’s long embrace of President Obama and his dis of Rob Astorino’s effort to upseat Governor Cuomo should be the kiss of death of his 2016 run for the Presidency. We should expect the person who wants to be at the top of the Republican ticket to support strong Republican’s under that ticket especially those that are right over the bridge. I hope I don’t get into any traffic problems this morning. There’s still time (a few hours) Governor for you to change our minds by not shutting up and loudly supporting Rob Astorino for Governor. This way we can see whether you’re worthy of moving to a different house in 2016.
Astorino Upset- Biggest Upset in Political History
Imagine the shock to the political system if Rob Astorino is able to pull off the biggest upset in political history by defeating King Cuomo. While the pollsters have already decided this race not one New Yorker (except absentee voters) have actually gone out and voted. We can make those pollsters have to look for a new course of work and more importantly put NY on a new course of true hope and change if Mr. Astorino becomes our next Governor. A path full of growth in our economic might that has new higher paying jobs for the people instead of the corrupt politician. A path that brings all New Yorkers together not looks to divide and conquer us. So tomorrow I ask that you turn the political establishment upside down and elect Rob Astorino as a Governor for all the people that make up this great state called NY.
Political Truth
Every year those with means utilize political lies to destroy any challenger who might dare to come in their ring. There needs to be a way for the truth to come out in a timely basis so that the voter can receive accurate information and make an informed decision on election day. “The Political Truth” is such a source as those who feel that they have been wronged can bring their complaint to this panel made up individuals from various political beliefs and integrity. If they deem that this add is inaccurate or false they will run a counter ad stating the truth in the same format that the false ad was initially put in. This ad will be paid for by the candidate who ran the false ad in the first place. Insuring that candidates with means be careful about smearing their opponent and allowing the voters to truly hear issue related campaigns instead of political smear attacks.
Rob Astorino-A BUD REFLECTION
MINE WAS A BIT LESS CROWDED
It was my first political fundraiser that I was to have in my house and if it wasn’t for Mr. Astorino (G-D willing Governor to be) it would have been my last. I had sent out beautiful invitations with RSVP to all the members of the Clarkstown Republican Committee Members along with my neighbors and bought a delicious spread for this beautiful reception that would bring in 5o to 100 people that instead worked out to be chromosomes. In truth we had approximately 12 people attend including Rob Astorino his bodyguard and my 2 dogs (for this fundraiser we count dogs). Mr. Astorino walked in as if it was a crowded room and graciously answered all our questions, shook everyone’s hands or paws, and shared the time with us as if we were raising thousands of dollars for him. I’ve learned from my lessons and hopefully in the future will have a more successful political fundraisers but until then I hope NY will elect a Governor with true class, humility and honesty Rob Astorino.
Money Drain
In yesterday’s blog I suggested that the campaigns to support moderate Republicrats (G-D forbid) might be the cause of the Republicans losing the Senate now I follow the money trail. As exorbitant monies are being spent to keep these individuals like Pat Roberts and Mitch McConnell in their seats monies are being drained in races that could not only changed the Senate but created incredible upsets (see below). More significantly monies are also being drained that could have enabled the Conservative message to reach out to build it’s base in minority communities as well as the youth vote which is key for 2016 Presidential Election.
Minnesota Senate Race- Franken vs McFadden- Franken only leads by 9 points.
Virginia Senate Race- Warner Vs Gillespie – Warner only leads by 10 to 12 points
NJ Senate Race- Bell Vs Booker – Booker only leads by 12 points
Michigan Senate Seat- Peters vs Land- Peters only leads by 14 points
Blame the moderates
If the Republicans don’t take control of the Senate (G-D forbid) you can blame the Republicrats or Moderates for the loss. The states that are too close to call are the states where it should be a runaway win for the Republicans but moderates were left to fight those battles like Mitch Mcconnell (the bird man) and Pat Roberts (the boring man). These individuals and others faced Tea Party principled challengers in the Republican Primaries and if those individuals won instead of this bore feast the road to Senate majority would have been a lot smoother. People want to vote between Peanut Butter and Jelly not Peanut Butter and Almond Spread.
Uncomprehendable
I’ve been a Met Fan so I understand illogical believing that your team will win even when logic dictates they won’t but when the game is over I accept reality. Therefore I accept and respect that loyalty given to the current occupant in the White House but I believe its’ time to put away the rah, rah flags and deal with reality. We might still personally love our team but realize that their needs to be a change whether in policy, performance or leadership if we are truly to win as a country. I do not seek this blog as a way to argue about past Presidency but move together as one people and say that we demand better from our elected leaders. Here are a few errors that I hope we all can agree on (below) because if the President here’s it from some of his friends maybe change will actually occur for the benefit of our nation.
(1) Inability to tell the truth-Please see link (below) that should bother Democrats & Republican’s alike.
http://www.bizpacreview.com/2013/12/18/pinocchio-obamas-top-20-presidential-lies-89096
(2) Unconstitutional Actions- Please see link below that all Presidents are sworn to uphold
http://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2013/12/23/president-obamas-top-10-constitutional-violations-of-2013/
(3) Poor Goverance- Whether it be the way the IRS targeting fellow citizens, the poor, protection of our own Embassy, Poor dispensing of the “stimulus package” or the vile treatment of our Veterans in the VA Hospital we should demand better.
(4) Foreign Policy missteps- from our poor treatment of our allies like England, Germany and Israel to allowing our red lines to be crossed and crossed again we need a President who leads our country from the front.
(5) Economic Recovery that truly only helps the top 1% while a record amount of individuals are on Disability or welfare while the rest of us suffer with stagnant wages and underemployment. It’s time to put together policies that grow the economy for the benefit of all that want to work.
Ignore – DANGEROUS
Today there is at least 45 % of the adult population that is tuning out the President. They’ll switch to a different radio or television station whenever the hear him speak. The President isn’t alone in being tuned out the news media outlets can be added to that list as well and it’s starting to seep through our entire society. It’s because the issue of trust has been broken. Reporters aren’t truly investigating issues and people that they support and the President appears to blame everyone but himself when errors have occurred. He’s thrown entire villages under the bus. Scandals abound but investigations and honesty appear to be thrown out the window. Whether it be Benghazi, Fast & Furious, IRS intimidation, VA Hospital, You can keep… (you get my point) many people have lost faith and that is truly dangerous. For what happens when G-D forbid a true national emergency occur like a serious terrorist attack, natural disaster or if Ebola truly starts spreading. It’s time the President regain some of the trust of the office he holds here’s how (below).
(1) Admit to the public his shortcomings as a whole and steps he’s taking to improve himself. Everyone should live and learn.
(2) Appear on an opposition radio or television show (on a more regular basis) listen without name calling and hear there concerns.
(3) Appoint someone like Senator Ted Cruz to his Cabinet to work on improving the government is running.
(4) Have dialog with the opposition party on a more regular basis and find some common ground.
Ebola and State’s Rights
If the Federal Government won’t take the necessary precautions to prevent Ebola from infecting it’s citizens then the State Governor’s must act. The passengers that are coming from either Sierra Leona or Liberia must be thoroughly screened and even quarantined (for the 2 week incubation period) if necessary by the Governors before being able to enter that state. I’m sure there are other ways that this virus might spread but at least the most obvious way will be avoided.
A simple social security solution.
Today we should offer those who would delay receiving social security larger monthly payments depending on what age they decide they would need them past 65 years old. We should also allow those with higher incomes to invest a larger portion of their monies tax deductible for retirement in return for receiving a nominal portion of their social security benefits upon retirement. This way we could leave more money in the system for those who have already retired and at the same time allow the system to have additional monies for the future.
