Be Yourself- Be Someone Else-Then Be Yourself

young old

Life is an amazing journey! When we are infants we truly do as we please and say whatever comes to mind. Then as we hit our pre-teens and teens we become extremely self conscious to the point that we can believe someone is recording every minute of our day and then playing it back just to laugh as us. Boy, do our parents add to that embarrassment. We gain confidence as we escape High School only to put in our place by the P.C police who watch over words and how they make others “feel”. As we gain our own financial independence we throw those P.C police under the bus and gain more self confidence to be who we truly are. That becomes apparent as we become Seniors and embarrass a whole new generation of “adults”.

Is this really happening?

This article (below) is too bizarre to be true! Whether you’re on the right, left or middle there are certain guarantees (from our constitution) that we all must stand up and say enough is enough. One of these is to insure that the press is free to write “the truth” as they see it without the fear of intimidation from those in power. Freedoms shall not be decided by the government that we elect but are our G-D given rights. Basic freedoms must be protected for all our citizens!

I didn’t think I would have to add this article (below) to the list of government intrusions on constitutional rights but I’m sorry to say that I do. Freedom to practice your faith as you see fit should not be infringed by this or any other government. It’s not whether you agree or disagree with a stance it’s the right of a person to be able to practice their faith as they deem proper that must be protected.

Looking at Z before you get to A.

Many times we argue about Z (the ending) before A (the first page). It gets to be silly because unless we have a basic starting plan there is no way we can even begin the race. We should instead work on those items that build up toward an initial goal that we all can agree on. Once that objective occurs then we can decide which way was most successful to get there and then shoot for the next goal. It’s important during this process that we have honest, hard working leaders who share the ideals and general view that we are trying to achieve and not worry about the finish line for now. It is important to have an end game but first the game must truly begin.

We need Ronald Marco not Jimmy Obama

Egypt Erupts

#Ukraine, #Freedom, #Ronald Reagan, # Marco Rubio

There was a time when America held the torch for freedom around the world and it’s time a new set of leaders grab onto it again. While Freedom is being crushed from Syria, Iran and now the Ukraine our current President makes our nation look weak as it did in the days of Jimmy Carter. Freedom doesn’t necessarily require blood but the fear of our enemies that we will defend this goal. Ronald Reagan aptly applied this skill on the world stage. Ronald Reagan built our defenses and was willing to work behind the scenes to watch so that leaders like Lech Walesa had the ability to fight for freedom. We need this type of leadership from a new generation of leaders who can speak to the people in a clear and concise voice. A voice that shares their values and goals today I believe that voice is Marco Rubio.

Snow, Snow everywhere but not a drop to drink

water pipe

As we in the Northeast are inundated with snow those in the west are in a drought conditions. Isn’t it time that there was a water pipeline that connected regions so droughts and floods could be avoided? This pipeline could be built without a penny from our budget with the right incentive plan. This pipeline would have already been built if we enabled companies to reap the profits from it without worrying about taxes. We would of course have to insure that these resources would have to be available to all those that this pipeline(s) served. Today our economy would be more stable, more jobs would be created and we would live in a safer place if only the right conditions were made to build such water pipelines.

Hot and Cold Flows

water hose

It appears that life goes in different flows. When things are going right you feel like nothing can stop you until the water turns cold and everything seems frozen in your path. I believe it’s important that when the flow is going in the right direction you stop and think who is creating that flow and thank them including of course the flow maker. It also is important to try to try to bring others into this positive force. Yet when things turn cold it’s important to recognize how things were moving in the right direction and how you might have cut off the hose. Could it be an attitude of arrogance that was ebbing through, did you forget those who helped in your success, or could it be that you didn’t take a moment to get on your knees and thank G-D the creator and true engineer? Life turns hot and cold and sometimes it appears when the cold is occurring that no jacket will keep you warm but with a positive attitude and prayers to above you can start a new flow that could be even brighter then the last one.

Puppy Lessons a lesson for life

teaching a puppy

I DON’T KNOW WHY THEY ONLY WEAR A HAT FOR GRADUATION

We are often overwhelmed with the task ahead because they seem like too high a mountain a climb, yet we can learn how to start the climb by observing puppy lessons. You can’t teach a puppy to stay in one lesson and you can’t climb Mt Everest in one day (unless you have a helicopter). It is a process that must be broken up in basic steps with a small reward as we get closer to the goal. It’s amazing how much can be accomplished if we allow ourselves to clearly put together a plan and follow through step by step. Just like a puppy can be distracted from his/her goal with outside influences like birds chirper we to can get distracted (usually not from birds unless there part of a TV special). Our puppy needs to learn the tasks in a controlled environment and repeat them before they can go out to perform in front of the world and so do we. Another lesson from life brought to you by “Cinnamon” my new puppy. Lesson 2 how to not have accidents.

Confidence without arrogance

HE COULD FALL ANY SECOND

When things start to go your way it becomes easy to slip from confidence to arrogance. Whether it’s due to dating the hottest woman on the block, getting that big promotion, and/or receiving recognition few others receive the push to become arrogant seeps through. It become more difficult to fight as jealous (or perceived jealous) occurs, material gifts are thrown your way, and it only appears stardom is just a few steps away. I’m waiting for all these to occur in my life but I personally have had my moments. How can you keep from becoming arrogant because not only is it wrong but it’s stupid. Your success can turn on a dime and that arrogant behavior can keep you from even climbing the first step, the next time. Here are just a few suggestions (below). I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR COMMMENTS AS WELL

(1) KEEP IT REAL- I know it’s an overused statement but it still holds water (I did it again). Take the garbage out, pick up after the dog, do the dishes.

(2) KEEP IN TOUCH- Call your family and friends on a regular basis and listen to them.

(3) VOLUNTEER- It’s important to help out those less fortunate and realize that we could be on the receiving end someday.

(4) EAT IN- TAKE OUT- It’s important to be able to celebrate our successes but it’s also important to spend time in your own dwelling cooking your own dishes (not literally they don’t taste too good) and eating the leftovers once in awhile.

(5) THANK THOSE AROUND YOU- Realize you couldn’t have accomplished the goals you achieved without the loving support of your fellow workers, friends, family, and associates.

(6) TALK TO A TEENAGER- Unless you’re Justin Beiber (even he’s losing it) they won’t be impressed and they’ll put you in your place.

(7) THANK G-D/HASH-M – Don’t forget to get on your knees (literally or figuratively) to thank G-D for these moments, ask G-D for the ability to continue the success without the arrogance that can lead to it’s downfall. Finally make sure you apologize for any failures along the way.

A Solution to the Gay Marriage Debate

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy, Political - No Comments

marriage

It looks like those that in favor of “Traditional Marriage” appear to be losing the political war to those that are in favor of “Gay Marriage” but there is a way we both can win. Just like there are different forms of Judaism and Christianity that might not be accepted within the faith there can be different forms of marriage that are accepted and non-accepted by various faiths and or their communities. As long as we call it “Gay Marriage” and “Traditional Marriage” the state can decide which form they want to recognize and/or give benefits as such. I believe that “Traditional Marriage” is the backbone to any society and has been proven to be the best way to raise children so society must do it’s best to keep this institution strong. If society feels that other unions help promote a benefit to society then they can recognize those unions and give benefits as such but they shouldn’t equal exceed those given to “Traditional Marriage”. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Worried about who votes

VOTING

The Attorney General worries about convicted felonies voting while I worry about who votes. I think we should worry about insuring that our public is truly educated on the issues and the candidates then worry about increasing the voter population. How many of us know individuals who truly have no clue who the V.P. or even what v.P. stands for and actual cast a ballot in the voting booth? How many of us know individuals who truly base their vote on how the candidate makes them feel and not on what they plan to do? I believe instead of worrying about convicted felonies rights let’s worry about the current voting populations rights. If we have an ignorant voters we will have a government that hurt us all. Here are just a few solutions.

(1) VOTERS GUIDE- (With coupons) That presents the issues and the candidates stands on those issues in a clear just way. It would be given to all citizens a week before the election for free because there would be corporate sponsors (coupons) and would be submitted with equal input from all the candidates and their parties.

(2) LOCAL CANDIDATE DEBATES- Candidates who run for office would have to participate in at least public debates with giveaways to those that attend

(3) STATEWIDE/NATIONAL OFFICE RACES- Candidates would have to participate in at least two televised debated (not just on CSPAN).

MORE TO COME BUT I HAVE TO GO TO WORK TO PAY FOR THE IGNORANT VOTES OF OTHERS
