I was recently told by a loved one maybe I should STOP pushing for new changes and just RELAX! My initial response “relax and die”! Yet I don’t want you to take this statement literally for there are times I enjoy my moments of relaxation and some my faith or body forces me to take whether I want to or not but even during those moments of slowing down I’m still thinking fast.  For when my mind stops running then I’m afraid my body will as well and I’ll be resting for eternity, although I’m sure I’ll have a job “G-D willing” up there as well which will keep me going even if I’m not.

You can be having a day where the cup is down to it’s last drop and suddenly “that smile” will allow it to fill to the top. It will crack your mood right open and shatter and reminiscence of the difficult time that suddenly appears to be hours or days ago. Add a little laugh and you’ll melt as butter melts on bread.   Not every smile will do it must come from those that you have an animal attraction to and it must be real for this effect to take place. Yet it’s amazing how that smile will last hours or days and turn your frown upside down and leave your heart and body longing for more.

As I walked out of the movie “Hidden Figures” it closed some other doors in my head. This movie made me wonder more about the African American friends/associates I know and their own plights they went through as well as their reaction. This must be similar to the experience a Christian feels when leaving a movie about the Holocaust.  We stop at least for a moment judging people as individuals with their own plights and backgrounds and look at them as a poor suffering/conquering group. Although it’s important to walk in other groups shoe’s but not every shoe fits the members of such groups. We must balance our empathy for the plight of groups of individual without identify the individual member as a necessary victim or conqueror. Only when that fully occurs will we have fulfilled Martin Luther King’s Dream of judging by the content of each others character.

You’re watching a T.V Show/Movie and it’s obvious they like each other but some how they afraid to ask each other out how unrealistic…. really? I used to think that way as well but after having many a business conversation where I’m basically adding 1 +1 they continue to get 3.   I don’t want to spell it out h-e-l-p but want them to grab my hand instead of let me drown.  Sometimes the “No Brainer” is really deeper then we think and a indirect question needs to be as precise as a surgeon with a scalpel.  I still he should have asked her out though.

Who do you call on when you need an extra hand whether it means someone reaching in their pocket or helping pull you ahead? Everyone has their own dreams, goals and problems so you don’t want to burden them or even add to their lot unless somehow you can convince them that your vision has a rainbow for them as well. Of course there are some good friends who will get involve just because they want to help you but if it doesn’t work will that friendship split in 2.   It’s one of the toughest questions to ask and is one that those who have the answer pull ahead of many of us who are still asking?

The NY Times claims that Shermichael Singleton was fired from a position at H.U.D for a hostile editorial he previously wrote about his current boss. Let’s assume for a moment that the NY Times is telling the truth “this time” would such a firing be justified? Would you have an employee working for you who starts his/her job publicly criticizing you before day one? I think not, most of us will appear excited about working for a certain employee if we really want such a position. Of course this was before he was elected and it is a public service position but honestly how well would you perform if you have already expressed reservation about the boss as well as knowing  if something went wrong you know where the fault would hit.  It would have been best if Shermichael Singleton could have resolved these issues with his employee beforehand but if after further discussion a meeting of the minds didn’t prevail then the two words “Your Fired” must appear instead.
