Mouse in Car

Is this not the scariest picture you can imagine? What would you do if you were  driving down the highway and Mickey suddenly appeared? Could you stay calm enough to avoid hitting another car as you attempted to get this vermin out of your vehicle? What if there were other passengers in the car screaming along the way? Thank G-D this hasn’t happened to me because I don’t know if I’d be alive to tell about it.   Now take it step further and think of this occurring in a plane ….in the cockpit! Just something to think as you hit the sack for some rest…if you can.

It’s True ….

I was raised on Coca Cola and Sugar Puffs and still enjoy the occasional cookie but once you start eating healthy food you not only feel better but taste better as well. For Dark Chocolate, Multi-Grain Bread and fruits/vegetable actually taste great.  Today the taste of unhealthy foods (Turkey Bacon, Steak, Milk Chocolate, White Bread) actually leaves a bad flavor in my mouth and stomach. While the taste of Dark Chocolate, Multi Grain Bread and a glass of Iceland Water leaves me feeling refreshed as it tastes delicious. It might take awhile for such conversion but once you start down this path you may never look back and when you take a break down this path it won’t feel as enticing to go back down the unhealthy side.  Healthy Food taste great and happens to be great for you as well.

South Carolina Primary- Ben Carson

Ben Carson

Ben Carson is the last of the Republican Candidates that I will review for the South Carolina Primary. In some ways he lives up to the saying that “you save the best for last” but in other ways he’s just last. Please see my notes below and add your comments as you see fit.

ADVANTAGES

1. BRILLIANT- He is the smartest person in the field.

2. LOOK- Dr. Carson has a warm friendly look and we can’t ignore he is the only African American running for the Presidency this time from either party. He also has a great smile

3. CONSTITUTIONIST- Ben Carson clearly articulates the values and limits of constitutional power.

4. NEW- Dr. Carson is a refreshing outsider to the political sphere

DISADVANTAGES

1. LOOK- Ben often appears tired and lackluster in his performances on the debate stage

2. NICE- Dr. Carson appears to nice for this political season of Trump.

3. WAITS TURN- He is willing to wait his turn patiently during such a debate and often is heard the least from.

4. EXPERIENCE- Dr. Carson is brilliant but his lack of any real political experience is something difficult for him to overcome especially when there is another outsider who has unlimited funds he’s running against.

R.I.P. Denise “Vanity” Matthews

Sometimes it’s too late for you too change and that is the sad case for Denise “Vanity” Matthews who’s hard partying lifestyle took a toll on her body even decades later.  Denise died of Kidney failure which appears to be brought on by her wild life style which led to a crack cocaine addition. This Crack addition almost caused her death in 1994 from a renal failure but she was able to get sober and religious.  This changed aloud her to live her life in peace and happiness for two decades more but in the end her previous lifestyle choice ended her life to soon. RIP Denise Matthews.

Oscar Nominated Film-Spotlight

Spotlight Movie

“Spotlight” is a difficult movie to review for you wonder if you give the art too much credit because the subject matter is such a serious and important story that you want it told or if you’ll be too critical because you want to feel you’re being objective. “Spotlight” is a well made movie that has a continuous flow from start to finish with fine acting and as noted a story that needs to be told, yet I’m not sure it is deserving of best movie of the year.  The film could be considered an updated version of “All The President’s Men” as it showcases the valuable work an independent newspaper can do when it’s truly independent (too bad in today’s environment the investigations must always benefit the left).  “Spotlight” didn’t break any new ground in artistic expression therefore I believe “Room” still holds my spot for best movie of the year. Yet if there is one story that should be noted from this film we must be objective when evil comes lurking even if it’s from our religious, political or family affiliation, justice should be for all.

*** 1/2 – Spotlight- If you’re Catholic it might have gone too far only highlighting the negative aspect of the Church and you probably could drop a star.

The FACTS can be staring at your eye’s but unless they fit your projection of the truth you can easily look away. If you believe in medicine then no amount of health food will cure your sickness even if your truly feeling better and vice versa.  Republicans are evil even if you and your friends have the best paying jobs you’ve had in your life and the world is at peace and the same can be said for Democratic haters. We live in a world of our choosing but wouldn’t it be great if it was based on the truth instead.  That’s why I say (few in the entertainment industry repeat) “The facts, Ma’am. Just the facts.” or vice versa.

South Carolina Presidential Primary- John Kasich

John Kasich

John Kasich is the next nominee I will discuss in the “Presidential Candidate Contest” and if my feelings are right this will be one of my least read blog pieces (details below).  It also might be the blog piece that will probably become obsolete very shortly.

POSITIVE

1. BEST RESUME- Governor, Senator, Businessman- John Kasich has a strong record of accomplishment.

2. PLAIN SPOKEN- Mr. Kasich has a down to earth feel to his voice and words that he uses when speaking to the public at large.

3. NICE- Senator Kasich appears to be one of the warmest and fuzziest of the political candidates.

4.TRUTHFUL- Governor Kasich tells it like he see’s it without trying to hype things up or build a story that doesn’t exist.

NEGATIVE

1. NICE- In this political environment Mr. Kasich appears too nice to challenge his opponents.

2. LIBERAL- Mr. Kasich appears to be the most liberal of the current bastion of Republican Candidates on key issues such as immigration and foreign policy.

3. VANILLA- Governor Kasich has a plain image that is not as interesting as his opponents.

4. HAND MOVEMENT- Senator Kasich’s fine words can be ignored do to his overemphasize on body language especially with his arms.

Oscar Nomination- Bridge Of Spies

Bridge of Spies

“Bridge Of Spies” is one of those Oscar Nominated Films that receives this accommodations not for it’s artistic achievement but because of it’s political message and the friends it has in Hollywood. Don’t get me wrong “Bridge of Spies” is a fine movie but is it truly exceptionally I beg to differ.  The characters aren’t well drawn out, the action is predictable and the ending is so,so.  The political message of National Security VS constitutional liberty, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg is the real reason it’s up in this category.  It is worthy of Oscar nomination for it’s set designs and cinematography.  “Bridge of Spies” is worthy of 2  hours of your time but only if you’ve seen these  Oscar Nominated Films before “Room”, “Brooklyn”and even “The Martian”.

Are you tired of replacing a toothbrush every few months or are you keeping your toothbrush so it looks good for ST. Patty’s Day, maybe it’s time for a RAZOR TOOTHBRUSH instead.  A Razor Toothbrush would allow you to replace the bristle brush when it’s time or even have a bristle that cleans a different part of your mouth instead.  Razor Toothbrush it’s time to have a clean mouth with the tools right at your disposal.

Anthony Scalia-RIP-A reflection on you

How we feel about the death of Anthony Scalia is a reflection on us not on the man? For here was a man who was known to be a great family man, who dedicated his life to public service, who not only got along with those who didn’t share his views (ex Ruth Bader Ginsburg) but counted them as friends and was a person who held to his convictions no matter what the societal or political pressures might be.  If you have hate for such a man then you hate his philosophy not the human beyond those views.  RIP Anthony Scalia a great man who has given so much during his brief stay with us.
