Faith is defined as complete trust or confidence in someone or something and too many have put it in hate. They hate certain teams, art, food &  political leaders and their faith won’t allow them to consider a different point. Individuals who have this faith miss music, food, and art that they would have enjoyed because the door is slammed shut.  The truth is that this is a faith I held strong for too long as well but now it just lingers with a few teams (Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders, and that evil NJ Hockey Team) and it is mostly in a playful way.  Yet the hate religion appears to be growing as we live in our isolated worlds without listening to each other. G-D willing this religion will lose some of it’s faithful adherents and we can learn to listen and enjoy many of the bounties that we have ignored for too long.

We are raising a new generation of young people that have no phone etiquette. They don’t appear to understand the value of talk to others as you want to be spoken to. Rudeness on the phone is what they expect you should receive but we from the previous generation should remember the hang up button in response. Yes, we understand you’re busy with your ten social networks but now you have texting so when you can’t say it exactly write with the spoken word.  Here are a few phone etiquette rules for the next generation (below).

(1) BUSY– Sorry I’m busy I’ll call you back ASAP- NOT- I’m busy (dial tone)

(2) NOT IN THE MOOD TO TALK- I’m sorry I’m not feeling up to talking now I’ll call you back ASAP-  NOT – What do you want now!

(3) VOICE MAIL IS FULL- Actually go through the Voice Mail and listen maybe you won the Powerball a week ago and can now buy that Starbuck’s Latte.

You have the Powerball Winning numbers in your hand at least until 10 PM tonight. It’s fun to dream so why not allow yourself to live that moment as long as it stays in your wallet.  Maybe even order that extra glass of wine or have that piece of cake you shouldn’t just before the 10PM whistle. It’s true that when the clock strikes 10PM those dancing shoes might turn back into dirty socks but at least you lived the moment.  So tonight when those numbers come out wherever they might land, at least for 60 minutes or so you felt like a billionaire (minus taxes) if only in your head ,and with a few less dollars in your pocket.

FURTHER NOTE – The numbers above are not the winning numbers for tonight’s Powerball but an illustration.

It’s never worked when speaking to another person but might be a mantra for oneself. When someone says “Calm Down” have you ever heard anyone respond “that’s a good idea” or “I never thought about that”?  If there is any response it’s usually the opposite of what we want such as “You want me to calm down!!!” or a not such a nice four lettered response (sometimes one finger will do).  I don’t know who invented these words maybe someone who wanted to prove everyone is crazy. It should actually be used at a ballgame or concert to get everyone riled up. So the next time you’re ready to say those two dreaded words remember you’re messing with fire and you just through in the matches.

I didn’t plan to watch this “State of Union” because I think I heard enough out of this President but out of respect for the office I’ve decided to listen with an ear and 1/2 to the television yet my two hands on the keyboard. Of course the President had to blame Bush in his first five minutes and although he doesn’t claim he’s the Messiah he’s sorta insinuating he is by his words and actions … executive actions. We  just aren’t smart enough to understand his brilliance and the wonderful achievements he has made. He is funny. Here are just a few bits of information (below) that I’m not hearing in his speech.  Yet I’m sure there is going to be enough B/S to keep his supporters going up and down like Yo’s Yo’s.  One more thought Al Gore invented the internet and now Joe Biden is going to cure Cancer.

(1) Highest Debt in our country’s history under the President.

(2)Largest amount of individuals on Food Stamps during his Presidency.

(3) More students have greater student loan debts then ever before.

(4) Lowest labor participation rate in 38 years.

(5) Greatest amount of terror attacks in the United States

(6)Largest amount of regulations put on our businesses

(7) Most importantly our nation and our allies are facing greater threats then they have seen since 911.

I always dreamed they would create a finals for the NCAA top football teams and when they did “Mr. Sandman” got his way.  The first half was loads of fun ending with a 14-14 tie how was I to know it would continue to crush it in the second half.  I can blame work responsibilities the next day, or the need to sleep but those are lame excuses to miss this awesome game in which Alabama beat Clemson 45-40.  If it’s any conciliation I feel guilty and will pay by purchasing an Alabama Jersey. This way next year I’ll learn my lesson and stay up or have a new wardrobe.
