Stay Home- G-D’s plan?

It says in the Bible/Torah that “Let no man leave his place on the seventh day” but what does that actually mean? For in the time this command was given the Jews lived as if they were nomad’s in the desert with no permanent home. Could this be G-D’s great foreshadowing or is there more to this story. I believe the later for one’s place is not just some four walled location but a place where the heart dwells.  That is why on Shabbos I do try to spend most of the time in my house but count time spent with close friends and family as being Shabbos observant.   Yet times when that is not possible I find ways to keep the place part in Shabbos  still, by continuing the traditions that have held for many generations in some way, no matter where my place may be.
