NBC Democratic Debate – I tried

NBC Democratic Debate

I tried to watch the Democratic Debate with thoughts in my head of  “common ground” but when the questions were meant to indoctrinate the viewers I decided that I could find more common ground on my pillow.  At one point the question could be categorized as a speech on Global Warming rather then any real question.   The truth is there were some points that made sense to me, especially when Bernie Sanders spoke about how big the banks are  and that they should be broken up but they were too few to mention.  Hillary Clinton, Bernie  Sander and Martin oh something …(why was he on the stage at 2 % in the polls) also gave some good examples of how on occasion they worked across the aisle.  Yet the final straw came when Andre Mitchell mentioned in a question how  U.S hostages were realized from Iran but somehow forgot to mention the 7 convicted Iranian’s released from American jail as an obvious bargain chip.  When reporters decide it’s best to tell the news rather then report it, it’s time for me to switch the channel or get some sleep, the later worked this time.

dreaming

Sometimes the dream is better then reality.  For dreams may come true and bits of nightmares may appear instead.  Dreams maybe smooth but reality is more tricky and even dangerous.  Just remember dreams are usually black and white but reality is in cover and sometimes that color can be red …. blood red!

Offended by be offended

offended

I’m tired of people being offended as a whole and this comes from someone who should be offended! I was teased in my youth for everything from my height to my faith and everything in between but now I’m truly offended.  Last night I went to a bar and met an individual who I wasn’t sure whether they may be a man or woman but that wasn’t the offensive remark. When I asked what she was (revealed) did for a living she said she was an engineering and I said she didn’t look like one.  It was as if I threw a brick at her face she was so offended and tried to explain it to me.  I apologized for the offense from the outside but not to deep inside my true feelings were “are you kidding”?  How is not looking like an engineer offensive she actually looked like an artist instead. The point is we all could be offended by anything if we think too deep about a remark. It’s time we learned to let thinks fly and in so doing leave the offense behind.

Same Place Different World

cats

People are a different type of animal for although we may be in the same place we turn out to be in a different world.  Our thoughts before such events and then during can be in totally different places. Past experiences reflect how we see the world so that a brilliant musical piece can be offensive or even boring.  So before you plan to go to the same place make sure you’re in the same world.

Spoken

SpeakingFox News Presidential Debate

Sometimes it’s not what is said which is important but how it is spoken and the Presidential Debates is a perfect example of these factors.  Those candidates who have just the right of the following qualities (below)  appear to be the one’s moving up the ladder while those with great words in the wrong bodies appear to be falling down. We want someone who speaks to us in a way that is pleasant to the eye as well as the ear.

AUTHENTIC- A person who appears to be speaking from their heart instead of prepared notes that have been measured and reviewed is coming through on the television screen. Donald Trump continues to win this battle as does Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side.

HAND & BODY GESTURES- Governor Kasich will show you how you can overdue the gestures while Governor Bush will show you how to appear stiff.

DRAMATIC PAUSE- Nobody is better then Senator Ted Cruz on this stage. It appears if his Presidential plans don’t turn out right he should get a Hollywood Star.

EMOTION- Senator Marco Rubio has the charisma that draws even his most ardent critic in if only for those moments.

SMILE- This is probably the toughest skill to acquire because it must be somewhat authentic but still spontaneous.  My friend Carly Fiorina is still trying to home on this skill as well as Ben Carson.

SCALE- Those with the Y chromosome that appear to have the X chromosome at certain points in their speech will lose the appeal of the audience. In other words it is important to understand how to emphasize  certain words and phrases without breaking a mirror.

Betrayal-Big Focus on T.V.

Shades of Blue   Colony

Two new shows “Shades of Blue” on NBC and “Colony” on the USA Network focus on the issue of betrayal.  Where the main character is betrayed by their loving partner, the one that they trust.  It’s interesting in a time when the public has such distrust in basic institutions government, press etc that these shows would pander to such paranoid fears. Yet the truth is betrayal is intriguing and keeps the viewer glued to the set wondering when the betrayal will be revealed.  The suspense builds to that climatic moment and what will occur next.   Betrayal might appear to be old concept back to the days of Shakespeare but it continued to breathe alive in the arts because it’s impact has such a punch.

I only watched the first episodes

SHADES OF BLUE- Starts out a bit slow but when Ray Liotta gets his character rolling the excitement begins. ***1/2

COLONY- Any T.V show starring Josh Holloway  has got my eyes glued to the set  especially after being a “Lost” fanatic. Then realizing that the Executive Producer of Lost is involved in this production will have me probably on this colony until it’s finally liberated.  Great exciting beginning!

Offer a helping hand

helping hand 2

Often I have offered a helping hand only to see it slapped away. It could be a job offer to someone who is out of their luck, advise to someone who is confused on which path to take or even a place to stay for a person who has been dislocated.   Many times the hand will be taken for a moment but then the person will want a foot or even my entire body. Other times the hand that I offer will appear to be carrying a spear to others as they become offended by such an offer. That is why I offer a hand in the distance through such devices as this blog which  offers a hand of uplifting insight, advise and concepts that can change someone’s life.  Yet the times that my hand is taken to make someone’s life better, make it all worth it and as long as I have an open arm I will try to help someone grab it but if they try to slap it I’ll slap it back faster.

Fox News Presidential Debate

Today I believe there are only 4 Candidates left that are on the “Main Stage”. They are Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina (a bit of an emotional appeal) but let me explain in general terms why the others have fallen. These individuals Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush  John Kasich, Rand Paul & Chris Christie etc. lack the media electricity to keep them in the spotlight and without that spotlight monies and resources dry up more quickly then the desert.   Furthermore in these times the grassroots is moving toward a different field then in the past.  They are fine candidates and great people with strong resumes but the times they are a changing.   Here are the 4 candidates that are on the prime stage and why.

(1) DONALD TRUMP– The spotlight continues to shine on him because he has the best one liners and throws punches as if he was  Mike Tyson in his youth.

(2) TED CRUZ– Strong, articulate, rebellious and someone who has a clear strong message.

(3) MARCO RUBIO– Best appearance of the bunch in looks and in style (don’t forget those boots) who clearly shows the diversity of the party.

(4) CARLY FIORINO– Powerful story that is spoken in a way that shows intellectual prowess and missing a Y can be very beneficial in this case.
