Organized Dump-A BUD REFLECTION

embarrassed

TRUST ME I EMPATHIZE

I still remember this event that occurred in 6th grade and let’s just say it’s a quite a  few years since I graduated college so you can imagine how traumatic it was.  Six grade was an extremely difficult time for me because I lacked any true self confidence, was a bit immature for my age and was extremely messy. This was demonstrated in front of my whole class when my teacher dumped out my entire desk on the floor. Please note this was the time when you kept everything in the desk I just kept a bit more.  While the class laughed at my humiliation I decided at that moment that I would never be this sloppy again. I can’t tell you there aren’t moments when papers and items don’t pile up but now a day’s I’ll be the one who does the dumping and it will be in my own private quarters.

Confidence- A BUD REFLECTION

basketball game

I stared at my missed shot while the ball kept bouncing. This was how I learned what true self confidence was for while I looked at my missed shot and felt the world was laughing at me a friend who had missed five shots before demanded the ball to take another shot.  Didn’t he realize that same world was laughing at him? I had missed only one shot (it was way off) but he missed five how could he demand another chance shouldn’t he be embarrassed like me?  The truth is those with self confidence truly know how to take a shot or two or three and get back up.  They will not concede defeating even if a chorus of fat ladies is singing to them. It might appear as arrogance to some but when it works their mistakes vanish in air. My friend made the sixth shot and I believe won the game or at least in his head he did.

One further note this occurred in my junior year in college

A call- BUD REFLECTION

waiting by phone

It started in the summer of 1988 where life was full of romance and dreams of finding that special innocent beautiful young lady were burning in my heart who knew that this discovery would be found in NYC. For on that date a beautiful young lady from Nebraska entered my life which would lead me to a journey know Jewish boy from NY had gone on before.  After that night we went our separate ways but continued to keep in contact through snail mail and the occasionally telephone call then on Valentines Day she sent me a special gift and I knew I had to see here again.

I spent my vacation break in Nebraska to discover the truth of where this journey would end. We had many a laugh, enjoyed great steaks and even sang a song or two but in the end there was a distance that couldn’t be covered in miles. I left Nebraska telling her that the next move was hers all it would take was that one call. It was a call I was never to received and though it hurt it was a pain I was meant to bear. For if that call had come who knows I’d be growing corn in Nebraska today without the faithful journey I’ve taken which includes a lovely family in NY, a film that bears my name, businesses that have flourished under my direction and a faith that has held true.  You might have your plans but I believe that G-D has the true blueprint.

Wall Street Journal Review-September 27th-With a little humor-in 60 minutes

Wall Street Journal

Today my challenge was to get through the Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition in 60 minutes and produce a blog that had a little humor . I initially tried  to complete it in 20 minutes but couldn’t get past the first page or so.  I put the posts in order of funniest lines….I hope.

(1) There is a competition between the head of the Extremist Islamic fashion’s between Mullah Omar and Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.  If I was an extremist I would side with Omar first of all his name is easier to pronounce and he’s that one eye thing that reminds of a pirate.

(2) Canada is making a new trade deal with Europe. We in the U.S will soon have to go to Europe to pick up our Maple Syrup and our “Eh”

(3) India wants 3 Billion dollars worth of Arms from the U.S.  In return we get some great tea and chicken curry.

(4) Many trucks in Texas are running on Natural Gas. Is that the odor I’ve been smelling over Dallas.

(5) Teachers allegedly helped students cheat on statewide exams which would have some impact on the salaries they received.  I would have loved to be in those classes in High School.

(6) Captain Juice is going to fly around telling the children about all the benefits of O.J.  His menaces isn’t Kryptonite but Coconut Water which has had him fall 45%.

(7) Writers who appear to smart for their audience aren’t aware of the intellectual ability of their audience or to put bluntly are just a bunch of snobs.

(8) Civilians and Rebels are protesting the U.S and it’s allies attacks in Syria against terrorist elements.  Nice to know your friends really care.

(9) Kathyrn Ruemmler and Donald Verrilli appear to be the two top choices to replaced Attorney General Holder.  It’s good to see the President is trying to find unbiased nominees (lol).

(10) Top college football team get to pick their opponents on some of their games which has lead to larger blowouts and of greater sale of pillows at games.

(11) Russia passed a bill limiting foreign ownership of it’s media to 20 %.  I’m sure they’ll make an exception to MSNBC who will be happy to help with their propaganda.

(12) Orman’s Independent run for the Senate in Kansas isn’t support from either side. Hello he’s supposed to be an Independent!

(13) Delays in putting the police force in Arizona schools has been set aside because some fear the police will be utilized to pick up illegal immigrants. They might also raid a cupcake sale

(14) Chris Christie and Andrew Cuomo get along well in public and private events.  Christie was thinking about running for President under what party?

The faith of the non beliver.

Those that claim they don’t have any formal religious beliefs can truly be the most ridged with their own beliefs. This can be shown by the environmentalist, football fanatic or any strong secular pursuit.  These individuals will spend a great deal of time, money and energy to see their visions come true. They will even miss work on their “holidays” whether it be “Earth Day” or “Opening Day”. Nirvana will occur when their team wins the ultimate trophy or when the world rides horses again.  They preach their beliefs to the point of ad nausea either through protests and demonstrations or on ESPN. The difference between those with Secular faiths and those with Spiritual Faiths is that after the game and/or rally is over those with spiritual faiths have a greater place to go  and that this cause is much greater then anything then exists here.

A simple faith.

light through

People say they’re not “religious” but not having faith means that you are missing some key ingredients in your life.

F = Forgiveness- If G-D can forgive us for everything under the sun surely we can forgive others who ask for that act either through word or deed.

A= Attitude – G-D who is the king of all kings still guides and protects all his children. Who are we then to have “attitude” with his other children.

I= Integrity- If we truly want G-D to honestly provide us to the path of happiness. We must have that integrity with others around us.

T= Togetherness- Understanding that we all come from one loving G-D who are we to separate and divide those of “true faith” no matter are differences.

H= Happiness- Faith enables those who carry it the happiness to understand that they’re is a meaning to their lives and that G-D provides us the tools to enjoy it.

The more you clean the more you…

cleaner

The more you clean, the more you clean until there is truly nothing left.  The truth as you clean you find messes that are hidden under the clean spot you’ve just made and it can truly drive you clean crazy. For example I knew a young man who would spend hours cleaning his car only to see those clean spots destroyed once it got on the road. It’s very important to be clean but like any obsession it can drive you to the the state of insanity where cleaning isn’t just a daily activity but the only activity. Therefore it’s best to have a limit of how much time and how clean you need to be within a daily time frame so you can still enjoy the messes that you create.

Voices of liberalism.

civil rights 4

I never fully understood the blind allegiance many in the African American community had to the liberal movement until I starting reading “Voices of Freedom An Oral History of the Civil Rights Movement from the 1950’s through the 1980’s”.   My previous thoughts were based  on the  hear and now not on the painful history that occurred during the civil rights battle.  I realized now that during the horrible days of segregation it was those “progressives” who fought the hardest and  sometimes with their lives to assure basic human rights and dignity in the south. The memories of the struggles these groups and individuals went through to gain those basic rights are imprinted on many of the people who lived in those days and passed down to the next generation. Yet if we in the Conservative movement follow certain steps (below) we will be welcoming new member that will only make our movement stronger.

(1) Acknowledge the sacrifice that those from different political viewpoints made to bring freedom and basic human dignity to so many.

(2) Inform many that the movement also consisted of  those from traditional religious communities and “Conservative Republicans” in Congress that fought to pass legislation to insure such freedoms and human dignity in the future.

(3) Not only reach out to the communities but continue to support fine representatives of the community such as Congressman Allen West, Senator Tim Scott, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

(4) We must truly connect to the communities not with a telephone poll but through love and understanding. This includes getting involved in local charitable events, walking and listening to those on the street and debating those at the local radio shows.

(5) Finally we have to demonstrate that the “Conservative Movement” is a civil rights movement itself. As it seeks to enable the individual to pursue their highest goals and protects the least among us (the unborn).

When worse is better

LAST PLACE

There are times in life when it’s better to have it worse then a little better. These are the moments when the worse allows you to break free from the “what if effect”.  Here are a few examples (below).

(1) It is better to lose the lottery by more numbers then by only one.

(2) Losing a competitive effect by a fraction of a second or an ounce more of an effort can be more painful then coming in last place.

(3) Escaping a really bad relationship is a lot easier then a relationship that has a few bumps along the way.

Rules For Parents

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Uncategorized - No Comments

child and dad

There appears to be a clear set of definitive rules for any occupation or sport that you might occupy but when it comes to being a parent those rules are hard to find. Let’s be a bit more clear the rules on being a bad abusive parent are fairly clear but to be a good parent that’ s an entirely new ballgame.  How generous should you be without spoiling your child? Is it more important to let your child struggle out of that situation or do they need a helping hand and foot?

The funny thing is even thought there is no clear rule book we can clearly see when a parent has hit that home run. Whether it be the parent that stays up endless hours helping their child recover from a bad cold, or a parent who will act with enthusiasm as they take their child to a movie they find annoying ; good parenting is as clear as a pane of glass. I guess they tried out a rule book in the past but replaced with love and caring instead. The great thing about being a parent is that although you might fail a quiz every once in awhile it’s a class (G-D willing) you get to take over and over again and like a good wine only gets better over time.
