Touching the Shark

touch a shark

How many times have you fallen for a show that breaks your heart with the next episode? You haven’t  yet  “Jumped the Shark” but you started  “Touching the Shark”. This is occurring with the show “Gotham”  where one episode will draw me in while the other episode has me walking slowly out. There are episodes of sheer brilliance where the reading, acting and action hits their marks and other episodes (last night for example “A Soap Opera” ) where you’re wondering isn’t there a football game I should be watching? Next week’s concluding episode for the season will decide whether this show has me jumping or staying in the water till next year. I sure hope the water is hot and no other channels are biting.

This truly is a test of chef survival as they compete in the same place with the same ingredients and time to make the best dishes possible.  Is “Leftovers” a show that you would want to create or give it to the dog.

A Voice will miss

He was the voice that told us it was truly Saturday Night and time to laugh.  His voice introduced some of the biggest names in show business to the home screen while he kept his appearance off that screen.  RIP Don Pardo  your voice may not be alive today but the great memories it brings will last many a lifetime.

“Bad Teacher” is better

bad teacher

It’s like finding a Pearl in an Oyster, actually finding a show that makes you laugh but “Bad Teacher” fulfilled that mission at least last night. There are so many television comedies that are so bad that they make you cringe or cry but laughter is only found on the track. You can tell a comedy is going to be funny when they don’t have a laugh track telling you when it’s time to loosen the laugh muscle. “Bad Teacher” is funny because it’s willing to tell jokes in a way that is not found on television with political incorrect humor and timing that hits the mark. It knows when a joke has served it’s purpose and doesn’t try to strangle you with it. It also doesn’t hurt that Ashley Danielle is beautiful and the rest of the cast fits their roles to the key. “Bad Teacher” I’ll be watching you.

The return of the dead

#Resurrection, # Return of Dead

I was watching “Resurrection” last night through my DVR (only 45 minutes without ads) and realized that Hollywood has it all wrong. I understand that I missed some previous episodes but if your loved one came back from the grave wouldn’t you be ecstatic and get down on your knees to thank G-D? Would you question every little difference or would you just be grateful to have them back? I understand it’s a television show and that it would probably be boring watching everyone just be happy . It also would be difficult to rekindle the flame of the past but there should be some spark when a loved one returns. I also understand that this show will never dwell in the spiritual realm that the resurrection will occur by any other force Alien encounter or even Broccoli encounter (they see this vegetable works wonders) so why should it bother me? It’s because it’s so unrealistic, not the concept but the way people react to it.

In the Jewish faith when the Messiah comes those who are dead will return back to us and when that occurs (if I’m around or one of the returnees) you better be sure that I’ll be grateful with ever fiber of my body, mind and soul. I believe many of those who haven’t had the time to go to Church, Mosque or Shul will find the time to visit now. It will be a time of great happiness, love and peace around the world as we will  make every effort to seek the truth and try harder then ever to follow it.

Just a side note I will continue to watch “Resurrection” if only to find out what type of “Broccoli” did the trick.
