Faith & Faith

faith over fear

I believe many people are afraid of faith and that fear prevents them from finding the truth. They fear that if they gain faith that they will have to give up the material and “fun times” they have because this faith will be restrictive.

The truth is faith does have it’s restriction but it has more freedoms. The freedom to know that it’s okay to fail G-D still loves you. Faith gives you the  freedom from embarrassment or worrying about keeping up with the Joneses because all you have to truly worry about is what G-D thinks. Most importantly faith gives you the love of your true maker who is there with you in good and bad times. HAPPY PESACH AND EASTER.

Who to tell….Who not to

TRUST ME HE’S BRILLIANT

When you have a brilliant or not so brilliant idea it’s best to share this with only a close circle of friends that are honest but also truly understand you.  Of course sharing the idea with the wrong person will enable them to steal the idea and get all the credit but that is only half the problem. The other problem is that an individual might discourage or create such a fuzz that you decide it’s not worth pursuing your idea even though deep down inside you know you should.  How do you find that right person who will tell you the truth but not totally discourage you? In this case I believe it takes 2 individuals for this conquest.

(1) First have one cheerleader in your corner that seems to always love your ideas.

(2) Find a friend or family member that believes in new ideas but also can read between the lines, so that you will fully understand the hurdles you will face along the way.  This is the type of individual who will not only explain the hurdles but give you a way you might jump over them.

How good a friend.

TWO GUYS

YOU PROBABLY DON’T WANT TO SHARE

Can a single friend be trusted if you had a beautiful girlfriend?  How about if that girlfriend was friendly and maybe a bit flirtatious? Maybe the solution is to only see your friend when your girlfriend is not around.  It could be  fixing your friend up and going on a double date.  I understand that friendships can be strong but hormones can be even stronger so what ever you decide to do  make sure you are ready for the consequences that might result and the damage friendship or relationship that could occur.  PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

A DIFFERENT TAKE

If I was labeled mentally slow I don’t think I would want to be in the “Special Olympics”.  Just because my mental abilities weren’t up to those who might compete in a physical activity doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t compete with them on a physical activity.  It would be great to be able to prove to the world that I could compete in any physical activities even with my ‘limited mental capacity”. Why should these individuals be segmented to only compete in the “Special Olympics” ?  PLEASE COMMENT

If you found this section offensive then maybe you shouldn’t read this section below.

I just found out yesterday that the word “Retarded” is political incorrect.  The word “retard” means slow and is used in the building material industry to describe a product that slows down the drying time. I’m confused why this word is offensive against if it is used in a derogatory basis on those that aren’t slow or said in an offensive tone.  PLEASE EXPLAIN

Safe Act Registration

unsafe act

Let it be known that I’ve completed an act that I believe goes against the 2nd Amendment just because I don’t want the government that represents me to deem me a  criminal. This act was to fulfill the registration for a gun that I purchased legal and now the government wants to know about it.  Please note that this is the same government power that totalitarian regimes have used to insure their power over the people. I fear the consequences of acts like this not for me but the land that I love.

Managing Free Time

free time

What do you do when you have a spare hour or even day on your calender?  If you can be productive with those moments then I believe you can truly move ahead. Moving ahead doesn’t necessarily mean having a bigger house or an extra car but it can be enjoying your life at it’s fullest.  I personally spend most of my free time with my creative pursuits of reading and writing and occasionally I’ll just go out and enjoy nature.  If I still have a few minutes to kill I might indulgence in a little boob tube action or socialize with a friend or two among other activities.  This makes speaking with my friends or watching a television show more of a privilege and therefore more enjoyable.  It also enables me different world through creativity and challenge the world which I live in.

I HATE THIS TOWN!

MY INNER FACE GROWING UP

I remember hating the area that I grew up in. I couldn’t wait to get away from the people that resided there and from the pain of those earlier years. Whether it was the local bully or the young lady with way to much attitude I new, or at least I thought I knew this place was horrible.  Yet what is it with “a place”?

We can hate a location because there aren’t any real opportunities, or it lacks the aesthetics that we want, or maybe there is extreme pollution or dirt but  I would guess in most cases it’s the people we meet there.  We don’t usually hate a location because of a tree or squirrel that gets in our way but the people that do. It’s ironic because sometimes if we walk just one block away the buildings might be the same but the friend on the block changes everything. So the next time you say “I hate this town” I suggest you look and see if you can’t find a good person that will make this town beautiful again.

Not Listening!

angry

ADVISE IGNORED.  Isn’t annoying when you give advise and others don’t follow it. Advise that is truly nothing more then common sense but it creates so much drama between you and the person you’re trying to help. It is truly frustrating watching that person continually fall when they could be as strong as a rock if only they would have listened. How angry does that make you feel?
Now imagine that to the billionth degree. That is what G-D must feel like when we ignore what has been written. What is amazing is the compassion and love G-D still has for us even as we continue to fall. If only we could find 1 % of such compassion in our own hearts maybe the world would be a better place.

When to change?

climbing mountain

First a brief story- There once was a man who would climb a mountain but every time he would get near the top he would fall two steps down. This would occur even when he took a different path. It finally occurred to him that he should stop putting wax on his feet.

The truth is change maybe more obvious then we think but because we are not looking at what is obvious we keep on falling.  Change is extremely difficult because even if we are not as happy as “we could be” it’s a dependable type of feeling and who knows when we change we make crash at the bottom and never be able to get up. Yet if we truly want to get to the top of the mountain we need to look and see what is truly holding us back even if means taking the wax off our feet.

stuck in box

A CREATIVE PERSON BEING IGNORED MAKES THEM FEEL TRAPPED IN A BOX

How many passionate people are brought down by systems and structures that destroy their creativity? How many solutions have dissolved before they were even looked out because “the wrong person” suggested it or suggested in the “wrong way”? I’m sure great solutions were destroyed just because they are solutions and that creates anxiety to those used to the old ways.  How many companies today are struggling unnecessarily because they don’t listen to their most important resource, their employees?

When a creative mind is stopped because of  the reasons above they can just decide to go along with the flow even when they know the flow will soon be a drought. They can escape from their normal pursuits into a different world whether that be through the arts or other endeavors.  Yet one thing we can be sure of their talents have been wasted.  Here are a few ways you can make sure you don’t step on that creative spirit.

(1) Give the individual the chance to test their proposal on a smaller scale. Let this individual have the time, budget, timetable and measurements to make sure their plan works.

(2) Not only have a suggestions box but look at it on a regular basis. Reward those who have come up with suggestions that you adopt. Allow them the power to put those changes in effect.

(3) If you decide it’s not in the companies best interest to pursue this creative objective tell the individual clearly why and explain how it might work even on a much smaller scale. Make sure you thank them for their dedication and support.
