Pizza Rev = Subway/Chipotle comes to to Pizza

Pizza Rev  Pizza Rev 2

Pizza Rev has taken the pie and brought it to Subway/Chipotle concept where what you eat is what you decide.  This food concept is absolutely brilliant because any complaints or complements are left to the chef … you.  For you decide what you want on your pizza from the dough all the way to the Garlic and Cilantro. This food concept reminds me of the leave Brexit campaign where the people want a grassroot pizza vote on what goes on their own food instead of leave it to some unelected official in an office somewhere else. Yesterday was my decision and the pie was the best I’ve ever eaten well maybe a bit less Jalapeno’s. Pizza Rev the food revolution continues.

Favorite Restaurant list

Old World Food Market 2

I  think I found my favorite restaurant  or one to put on the top 10 and I’m not sure you could call it a restaurant but a foodie’s paradise instead. The Old World Market in Nyack NY has an incredible variety of dishes at it’s deli that can be eaten right out of the oven or in it’s more natural state. Items that are made just right and come from all areas of the globe. They have your newest health food trend and you can  gobble it down with your Coconut something water.  The truth is if you don’t enjoy the food it’s all your fault (or mostly) because with the 100’s if not 1000’s of choices you can make, there’s got to be that hits all your taste buds. Great parking and seating is also readily available. Old World Food Market not your average restaurant for those who don’t want average food.

Lose weight while EATING

Celery Sticks  garlic sticks

Celery,  might be the only food known that you actually lose weight when you eat but if you taste it alone you can understand why. Some creative chip company needs to find a way to add a bit more flavor without increasing calories do this delightful vegetable and may I suggest a little garlic to the mix.  Of course Curry might work as well along with a salt and vinegar type. Once you get just the almost right flavor  you’ll have  the perfect snack to keep you going without gaining the pounds to prove it.  I will begin the experiment with several flavors this weekend and would appreciate any suggestions along the way.

Simply Good & Healthy

Banana Pancakes

It’s easy to make, taste delicious, is Kosher (even for Passover) and can I say is good for you. It’s the lovable “Banana Pancake made with only two ingredients Banana’s and Eggs. Of course adding other ingredients adds to this  delicious dish including Raspberries & Blackberries. I also enjoy putting some honey on top when it’s done. Unlike Pancakes you don’t feel as if you ate a brick after just 3 yet to be honest there lightness makes them difficult to flip. Regular pancakes also contain other non- healthy ingredients including white flour and  sugar.   The “Banana Pancake” for those who love Pancakes and still want to live with themselves after the morning.

Wacky Loaf

Unusal bread    ususal bread 2

If your bread has become a bit “stale” with the usual taste it’s time for a “WACKY LOAF” where ever slice has (or two) has a unique flavor that stands our among your taste buds. There would  be flavors such  “Banana Cinnamon Raisin” and ” Fearfully Spicy to the Core”  that would leave the other loafs white with fear.   Of course your “WACKY LOAF” would be sold at a premium price but this loaf would be well worth it taste in bread.

Blue Smoke- Best Fried Chicken

Blue Smoke 1 Blue Smoke Fried Chicken

Who would think a restaurant with “NY Values” would produce the best Southern Fried chicken in the country?  The flavor was intense and the chicken was as moist as butter with just enough crispness to scream y’all tasting this Chicken. What was really remarkable was there wasn’t an ounce of grease on or near my plate   In other words it was “outrageous”! The Brisket and Biscuits deserve there own accolades as well but I’m still dreaming of the Chicken that proved “NY Values” work at least when it comes to food.

Health Food-Live Forever

health food 3

Sometimes we want to believe a conspiracy so that we gain new hope and I’m afraid that is occurring in the “health food” market,  where claims of conspiracy by doctors, pharmaceutical companies and the media against us are rampant. I believe that eating a healthy diet full of natural vitamins found in these products and organic food can help ward of sickness and even extend life but let’s face it, this is not the Fountain of Youth. Even our Cavemen/Cave woman who ate only natural organic items (some they shouldn’t have) died of sicknesses other then being attacked by a Dinosaur.  I’ve gone to many a health food store and haven’t found that 200 year old man/woman yet.    There is no reason we shouldn’t search and explore natural products such as B-17(found in Organic Blackberries)  to help kill Cancer Cells  but let us not put our full faith in trust in them. Let’s face it no matter how many green products we might put in front and back of us when G-D wants us home we’re returning, so let’s just enjoy the ride while we’re here and make sure it lasts as long and an organic couldn’t hurt apple along that way.

Taco Bell- Brilliant

Taco Bell

Taco Bell has turned the lights on with an incredible marketing campaign that shut out it’s competition.  It is offering a new surprise item that will be revealed on Superbowl Sunday but to make the marketing even more brilliant you can pre-order this item and taste it 2 days before the big event.  This marketing ploy will build suspense better then most horror movies could do today and with the pre-order (see link) it will build sales before it’s even launched (not to mention prestige for the first bites). The Superbowl might be big but Taco Bell’s marketing campaign has truly scored the winning touchdown.

Crossed my line

Guittardline in sand

It was a line in the sand that I wasn’t supposed to cross but blame it on Guittard. I had committed myself not to enjoy Chocolate with less then 72% cocoa but there was this bar with it’s Pink Paper and Anise and it was a temptation I couldn’t resist.  Now that line has been washed away/Obamed away and I feel that I must have another bite. For the flavor although not as rich as the 80% bars is so smooth with the slight taste of dried red fruit notes and Anise that it’s taken my Chocolate breath away. It might be a blessing in disguise for it is missing and just like a quick fling maybe the memory is all that I need to hold onto.  Another bar at 72 % or above surely will come along and the memory of Guittard will fade away … I hope.

It’s possible!!!

Hu Kitchen Crunchy Banana

It was an impossible combination to get right although when it’s fresh it’s just perfect. To combine Chocolate & Banana in a bar just wasn’t going to work it would either be too much Chocolate or too much weird Banana taste and therefore be just wrong, that is until Hu Kitchen perfected this art.  This bar has just the right amount of Chocolate and an authentic taste of banana that makes it stand out on it’s own.  Hu Kitchen taken human skills to a whole new level and for that me and my taste bends are truly grateful.
