Miracles in our time

israel 2

Joan Rivers told the story on how she was banned from the tonight show until she was invited back by Jimmy Fallon and how too many consequences occurred during her return that couldn’t have happened without some divine assistance. This same hand can be seen with Israel’s redemption.  A hand that can be seen if we only look deeper then the skin.

Never before has a people returned back from a land that they were kicked out and turned it from a  barren dessert to truly a land of milk and honey. We can’t ignore the hard work of the Israel people and generosity of the American people in achieving this goal but we also can’t ignore G-D’s continual assistance in seeing it truly work. Here are just a few examples (below) of Divine assistance with the state of Israel in our times.

(1) Never before has one nation had so many hostile nations against her from her initial rebirth and not only survive but strive.

(2) Israel has become an economic powerhouse while most of her neighbors with similar resources live in constant poverty.

(3) The recent missile attacks on Israel which would have been devastating to this land in the past have had a smaller impact then anyone ever could have expected not only because of the technology that suddenly became available but also because many of the missiles missed their expected mark. see  https://pro-labs.imdb.com/name/nm2568774/

(4) We can also site other specific miracles that occurred  during the recent hostilities with Hamas (see http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/08/05/the-two-miracles-of-nature-some-israelis-say-protected-them-during-the-gaza-fighting/ )

(4) This desert has not only become fruitful to the Israel people but the world as a whole as many of the technical devices we enjoy today come from Israel discoveries in computer chips that extend these devices to medical technology that extends life.

Society needs a spiritual awakening

PRAYER 3

There is a movement to pull people away from traditional faith observance when instead we need a spiritual awakening that pulls us in. Faith is the one ingredient that if righteous can truly inspire people to be the best they can be not just for themselves but to do those around them because they are judged by a higher authority.  Going to traditional services not only helps your soul but those around you as prayers to G-D truly do get answered and even the ones that appear to be unanswered have a way to hit you when you least expect it.  It’s also a place where people of little faith can build on that as they find true friends who understand and respect an individuals path to the truth.  Finally the movement toward traditional observance keeps the mind away from temptations that aren’t only bad for the heart and mind but the soul that binds it all together.

Leaving a bite.

hungry

I believe it’s important to leave a bite from every dish that you eat. It’s not because I’m not hungry for that extra bit but because I realize that every bit comes from G-D above including the ability to eat it. It’s important to me that I not forget that at the beginning of each meal and the end thereof. Therefore I ask you not to be offended if you make a dish for me and I don’t join the clean plate club.

My hat

hats

I wear a hat on most occasions and it’s not because I have something growing on my head (I think) but it’s because of my faith in G-D.  In the Bible/Torah there is a section called the Shema which is extremely holy to the Jewish faith.  The first paragraph reads.

Hear, O Israel, the L-rd is our G-d, the L-rd is One

You shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you today shall be upon your heart. You shall teach them thoroughly to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for a reminder between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates

By wearing a hat I’m able to look and see the rim of my hat. This is my sign that is between my eyes that I love G-D and that G-D is present all the time.  I only wear a yamaka/skull cap when I go to Shul because of tradition or in places that don’t allow me to wear a hat. The reason I won’t wear a Yamaka all the time because I don’t follow all the “traditional/Talmudic” rules that others who wear this item would and therefore don’t want to appear hypocritical or even sacrilegious to the more traditional Jewish or Gentile person.

3rd Temple

holy temple 2

Last night while I was looking through Facebook post I thought I saw a post on rebuilding the Holy Temple but when I looked later I couldn’t find it. There are four explanation that I could think of; first it was deleted, second I’m seeing things (pink elephants etc), third I’m too lazy to look further or fourth it was a sign. I’m going with the fourth for this blog.

The Holy Temple in Jerusalem was a place put together with donations from many nations and where the world came together to pray to G-D.  This Temple permitted many to bring sacrifices for forgiveness or offer sacrifices to  thank G-D for all the bounty that they have received.  In today’s world where we see such division would the building of such a temple unite us or would jealousy of who controls it destroy it before it was even built? Would walls of separation come down between people’s or would new walls come up? Maybe it’s worth considering taking those first baby steps and see where it leads us to. If G-D wants it soon his helping hand will see that it is built if not then G-D will know at least we tried. What do you believe and why?

A True Holy War

annihaliate

In the Torah/Bible it talks about annihilating the enemy but the enemy can be found not only around us but within us.  Today those enemies around us are those only bent on the destruction of the innocent to get what they want. Groups like “Hamas” and “Al Quaida” which use their own population as human shields and target the innocent are such  organizations and like the Nazi’s must be completely wiped off the map  for us to have peace around us.

Yet if we want true peace we must annihilate the enemy within and this is much more difficult. It is a battle that for most goes on for a lifetime. Evil impulses push us to hurt loved ones and strangers when we should be showing compassion and love. Those impulses can also cause us unnecessary pain in our life as we go down a path of doubt, jealousy, and perversion.  Our challenge is to take those evil impulses and some how turn them to good instead of evil.  We can either start a fire to burn down a house or create light and heat for our family. G-D gives us these impulses and power but he also gives us the directions where to go with them if only we truly listen. It’s up to us to annihilate the enemy within so we can truly have peace with ourselves and G-D.

Journey’s

    journey 2

Life takes us on many journey’s and along the way there are stops that can lead us to complacency or down a different path toward the dark side. It’s important that we forgo those stops, eliminate the evil in our way and continue to move forward. For if we stop or G-D forbid go down the wrong path our journey might end way to soon and the greatness we could have achieved will be stopped like a period in a sentence.

We can be inspired by the long journey that G-D lead the Jews until they reached the promised land.  There were many temptations along the path and some choose them instead and therefore missed the glory of seeing the holy land. Today the Israelite’s continue their journey for true peace in the future and as such must eliminate those forces along the path that seek their destruction. May G-D continue to provide shelter and strength for those Israelite’s and all good people’s who try to follow in the path of truth and justice.

Amalekites Today

israel move

Hash-m commanded the Israelite s to totally eliminate the Amelekites because they would be a thorn that would continually threaten the Jewish people and the innocent of the world. The Israelite’s didn’t fulfill the mission and today elements of Amalekites can still be seen. One of the key ways to determine if someone is such a despicable individual is to see that they target the innocent from behind.

Today Amalekite has shown it’s ugly face as demonstrated by the shooting down of a passenger plane without any regrets over the Ukraine, the indiscriminate firing of rockets to civilians in Tel Aviv, the killing of three innocent Yeshiva boys in Israel, and the imprisonment, torture and molestation of 3 young woman by Ariel Castro.  Showing sympathy for such individuals is like showing sympathy for a Cancer Cell. These elements must be completed eliminated with precision so their destruction doesn’t hurt the body as  a whole yet there existence must be no more. Hash-m commands no less and although it might appear painful because these individuals know how to hide among the innocent, we must believe the task is valiant and done for the good of all of us.

Why him/her… why?

desperate prayer

When bad things happen to good people we often ask why? We wish it would happen to someone else instead like a murderer, rapist, someone who robs the elderly or in firmed but not our loved one. The truth is we can’t see why a benevolent G-D would act in such a way. Here are some reasons this action might occur yet I can understand why this blog wouldn’t help those who are suffering today. May G-D bless you and those you are praying for.

(1) IT CAUSES US TO ACT! Whether that action be through prayer, bringing the family together or donating blood to the sick; we act.

(2) IT BRINGS US TO OUR KNEES- We are willing to plead for mercy when bad things happen but often neglect praising the good things.

(3) UNITES A COMMUNITY- Those that were so distant become one in love and kindness to those that are hurt or sick.

(4) CAN RENEW A FAITH- This can occur when our prayers are unanswered or when those prayers result in an unforeseen benefits to us and our community.

Maybe if we perform these acts more often less of why him/her will occur in the future and even if it doesn’t we will better off as a whole.

Fasting and Faith

fasting

FASTING & FAITH- As the month of Ramadan occurs my Muslim brothers and sisters will be fasting from Sunrise to Sunset for a month and I thought Yom Kippur was hard. Fasting is an important part of the Christian faith although it appears less rigid on how it is performed as compared do the Jewish and Islamic faith. Fasting is found is most faiths but what are the similarities we can discover?

(1) HUMBLING- A fast reminds you that life and all it’s wonders can’t be taken for granted. We must thank G-D for the bounty we have and not forget those less fortunate.

(2) SIGN OF CLEMENCY- We ask that G-D accept our fast as a sign that we are committed to be better people and therefore ask for forgiveness.

(3) STRENGTH OF CHARACTER- As a person finishes the fast they feel not only cleansed but realize that they have the ability to survive and grow with G-D’s help.

In conclusion I pray that my Muslim brothers and sisters have an easy, spiritual fast during this month of Ramadan. Let us all find that spiritual gift during our fast that brings us true understanding and friendship between all G-D’s children.
