Faith must be seen in the light and in the darkness for it to be true. It is not what someone wears or eats that truly determines their observance but the paths they take their faith to, which marks such a person. For Joseph never doubted G-D’s mission for him even when his own brothers sold him into slavery and  as he was locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. He might not have understand why this path was needed for his mission but he continued to walk with his head held high. Knowing that G-D has such a path for you to get though even when the woods are dark is true faith and is something we all should battle to have in our hearts, minds and souls.  It is a true faith that once observed will have us see the promise land through the storm paths of our life.

Sunday 12/23/17- 18 Montebello Road-Montebello NY- YOU are invited to my D’var Torah on Joseph.  If you ask what is a D’var Torah you probably won’t want to attend but just in case it is a discussion of the Torah portion with one’s own reflection followed by a kiddish or free Jewish food.  Every year I try to find new insight on this story that holds a special place in my heart and soul which I hope will inspire others. I can’t guarantee this will occur but I can guarantee a better spread then normal.

As a person of faith I remember many a time where G-D spoke to me not in actual words but in actions that gave me direction and changed a path. Yet if someone actually said G-D spoke to them one on one I would like to know how? For with today’s technology it could be through a text or email message as easily as if it was verbally and probably have more of an impact.  Imagine if G-D became the 5001 Facebook friend (should probably be 1) you probably would have a lot more followers. Further note  if G-D was to use those means what font would he use would their be a new color or just black/white and how large would the letters be? Would such a message have a reply box to it as well and who would be able to respond? Could you share this message with others or would you be the only one to see the true meaning?  In truth maybe those messages have been coming our way in all different formats already but we have not been reading between the lines?

In the last few posts I might have dwelled a bit too far in pushing the teacher (see previous post). For although I made light of a situation that was a crime we have to think of  “the victim”.  It is not your normal victim who faces pain from such a crime but a young person who might be damaged for life in what their conception of a woman and relationship should be as well of course the proper relationship of a teacher and their pupil. Will they misconstrue a loving touch from an adult as a sexual advance, would they be able to draw the lines of safety we all except from those of the opposite sex? It took a walk down my faith to understand that maybe I made too much light of these situations for I was thinking more with my ID when a wrote this post then the Superego which was released after this  faith journey.

Moshe spends day in and day out studying the good book hoping to bring new insights in G-D’s design to himself and those around him; while Mark spends his days running his business which incorporates many and brings great opportunity to others the question is  who is more religious?  It’s not an easy answer for Moshe’s learning can inspire others in ways we may not know for generations to come while Mark’s impact is on the here and now.  Mark insures his family and loved ones are taken care of with the necessities of life while Moshe ensures that his family incorporates them into their soul.  One we leave wealth to those left behind after he departs while the other will leave knowledge. I’ve chosen to lead the life of Mark with sparks of Moshe coming through every so often and in the end I hope they both will open the gate for me.

Although we may have different ways and paths to express our faith understanding that there in only one G-D helps humanity as a whole.  One G-D who made all of us means that we can’t look to down on others or we are truly looking down on ourselves.  We may think that our path is closer to the truth but must understand that the one creator put us all here for various reasons. Therefore any person who looks to condemn a whole race, religion or path that doesn’t look to harm others is truly looking to hurt G-D as well.
