Out of something

Here is a song that I thought I had discovered, only to find 6 million or so people landed there before. I guess I’m no Christopher Columbus but maybe to a different generation or some people from the Amazon rain forest.  Well at least it’s new to me and maybe the other billions that have not heard yet…. I think.

“The Arrival” -Great Concept told by a snail

the arrival

“The Arrival” is a great concept so slow that a snail would fall asleep before it’s over. I’m sure there is a powerful message but I was so bored by the story telling that I forgot what it is.  I have no clue why this was even nominated for best movie of the year except that those in the nominating process must have had good dreams while they were watching this film.  Yes it’s artistic but watching paint dry is artistic as well. “The Arrival” should be a place you shouldn’t go to because it’s better to be lost.

Success breeds Success?

michael jackson & children michael Jordan and his children Steve jobs and his children

If success breeds success then why aren’t Steve Jobs, Michael Jordan & Michael Jackson children names that we heard of? Wouldn’t Madonna insure that her children had the best singing coach and Michael Jordan make sure his child knew what a lay up was before laying down?  It is fascinating to see how many children of the stars don’t walk in their families footsteps.  While at the same time those who’s parents seem to walk in the opposite direction can have children walk up the stairs of success and fame. With all the advantages those of privilege have (top coaches, instructors, networks, etc) many must be missing the one ingredient that truly made their parents a success the killing drive. Maybe they figure it’s too difficult to come even come to the success of their parent(s) so why even try while those that have nothing have very little to lose or even prove.  Success breeds success only if those in the breeding are willing to die to have it!

RINGS

It was the first horror movie in years that got me to jump if only for a moment and now I wonder if its remake will make me flinch. Maybe it was the originality of the first film that got to me or could it be the quality of the film that did it therefore can it’s remake have some of that same impact.  The trailer opens that possibility but the lack of reviews now makes you think that this film is not worth putting on any of your fingers.

The Wall NBC show- Good Fluff

The Wall 1 The Wall 2

I rarely watch game shows especially at night but for some reason last night I was drawn to “The Wall” and I couldn’t get over it.  Maybe it was the pace of the action or the excitement of the contestants but whatever it was it had me glued to it as if I was about to win the $$’s.   Here was a wall that we all good agree on… as being loads of light hearted fun.

*** “The Wall” – A good break from reality.

Movie Election

voting 2 movie theatre

In the future what occurs on the screen might depend on your vote or non vote. Where the viewer will be able to decide what is to occur next through a voting sequence right at their seat. The “Subway Effect” where you the viewer (with a few hundred others) will determine what’s on the sandwich screen is coming to a theater near you. You will decide who falls in love, who lives or dies … on the screen. The viewer decides could become controversial as recounts might be asked for and even sleepy viewers might even be included in this election.  Would you take on your movie responsibility or would you sit out on this entertainment election?
