I cheer for all our medal winners in the Winter Olympics but let’s face it the United States enjoys playing in the warmth much better.  Can we really blame our fellow citizens it’s cold in the winter and who really says then this is the best time to enjoy some outdoor activities? Yes I guess a game of hockey or skiing can be fun once in awhile but it’s still really cold.   Let’s take the medals we win and congratulate the champions with a nice log on the fireplace and some hot chocolate for most athletic endeavors are meant to appear when the snow disappears.

WARNING THIS BLOG POST IS UGLY

There was a time when models had something worthy to show the world now it appears to be in fashion to be ugly.  

Where the best view is truly from behind.  I don’t understand this fashion trend as I still probably don’t understand fashion. For don’t we want a look to aspire to rather then put on in a closet.  I understand that good looks come in all different sizes but ugly is ugly and that’s not a look I want to see in the mirror or down the street. It is true we are all not blessed with model looks and beauty is in the eye of the beholder but when I see a model can’t they at least be beautiful for all those that have eyes to see.

What do I pass on to the world when/if  (rules could change) G-D decides it’s time to come home? Here are a few that would occur if the moments were in days not years.

(1) MY IDEAS- This blog has most traveling around the world wide web- G-D willing some will fall onto your desk and make your life’s a bit better.

(2)MY SCRIPTS- Many have not seen the big or small screen and are in the hands of talent who could bring them to life after the credits.

(3) LOVED ONES, LIKED ONES, & THOSE THAT DIDN’T HATE ME- Hopefully my life story that we shared together will be shared by others and bring a smile or hope to others. Maybe even a creative way toward a solution or just a new way to laugh.

(4) PRODUCTS- The Bud Rebel name is on several products that maybe someday travel to places I’ve never seen and make this world a bit cleaner (right now they’re cleaning supplies)

(5) TOUCH- In someway I hope that I have touched people and four legged friends so that they can feel how special they are to me.

(6) TRIED- Even those that maybe didn’t know my name we’ll some how associate me with that little old ant who thought he could move a Rubber Tree plant (Frank Sinatra Song)

(7) ASU- Yes life is a bit Screwed Up but would it be any fun if it was all one straight path. Maybe a walk sideways isn’t so bad after all.

for I know I needed to go but without your influence I probably would have stayed inside. I didn’t literally have to go (don’t worry that’s done in a different location) but I had to enjoy the beauty of the day and early evening.  My life was not depended on but I think my soul needed an extra work out to realize the beauty that is right around me. So thank you for the walk and let’s plan on you taking me for walks for G-D willing many, many, many years to come.

President Trump showed the nation that it’s time to listen and maybe we just might. Instead of calling each other names let’s listen to ideas to stop school violence from all sides and base our decisions not on right or left but what will realistic work within the constrains of Constitutional liberty and justice.  I’d like to see this occur but I already received a strongly worded letter from one side and an angry response from the other. Now it’s time for those in power to listen to common sense and seek solutions based on that principal.

FOOTNOTE –   Some suggestions that I believe deserve extra consideration at this listening forum.

(1) Allowing trained armed teachers and coaches in school

(2) Having less entrance points to a school.

(3) Instructing teachers in the ability to spot and deal with troubled youth more effectively.

(4) Giving greater access to those with mental health issues.

(5) Stronger background checks

17 Police Officers have already been killed in 2018 and it’s only the first month of the year.  Justin Billa from Alabama was the latest officer to give his life on duty and that is way too many. What is bizarre is this currently less then last year where 20 officers died in the same period.  We need to develop better protocols between officers and suspects as well as to insure they are more protected against those that would do them harm. Whether it means arming these officers when they are involved in a shootout with military style equipment or waiting even longer to lesson harm to them and others new steps must be taken.  One Police Officer’s death is too many and 17 should be the wake up call that something needs to change immediately.

You’ve made your dish (figuratively and literally) and now you have to eat it that is unless you decide to go back to the kitchen and try again. For it is true this time our dish might not be as elaborate as the 1st time but it could bring better results then our first try.  So maybe take a bite of the 1st dish but if it doesn’t taste right go ahead and give it another try for we all can learn from our mistakes instead of just cry in them.

No rational person wants someone who is not being treated for a mental health issue possessing guns but a simple ban might do more harm then then good for everyone. For example  will a person refuse treatment for a slight problem  before it becomes deadly serious because they fear they will be deprived of their 2nd amendment rights? Could those in power claim others are “mentally ill” to claim additional power grabs?  With such concerns here are solutions that I believe could work instead.

(1) WORK WITH PATIENTS– Let psychiatrist/psychologist/therapist discuss with patients the possession of guns to convince them of their safety concerns if need be.  If a danger persists in this case professionals should have special exceptions to alert those in law enforcement who can seek immediate court action to remove those weapons until threat is controlled.

(2) LOVED ONES ALERT– Individuals can alert law enforcement officials if they believe a loved one doesn’t have the ability to safely own these weapons. This individual will then have two psychiatric reviews if the court believes there is enough evidence to order such a review.  If it is determined that the individual is not competent to possess such weapons they will be confiscated until proper treatment is obtained.

(3) ALERT GUN STORES-  Notify gun stores of individuals that appear to be on the borderline of mental health and train them to spot signs that these individuals might not be best equipped to possess such arms. Gun Owners may not have the ability to deny such ownership but will automatically alert an NRA Liaison Officer and Law Enforcement to conduct a more thorough investigation.
