Stop Male Voting

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Thank G-D the Supreme Court has put a stop to the Trump Administration to stop male voting. Can you believe it this administration would fight so hard to stop those who are the biggest supporters from voting ! It’s if they couldn’t see the writing on the wall if the allowed this to occur. I never thought I’d change my vote but this has crossed my line.

FOOTNOTE-  Yes, this is a joke but some people will probably mail in a different vote because of the spelling.

I Survived

Posted by Bruce - in Uncategorized - No Comments

I survived 3 weeks + in the plunge. It was something I don’t believe any therapist could withstand as they go for sessions in the cold but mine went on for many weeks. Here (below) was my technique. G-D willing this technique will continue to work as I know the plunge is still present in my life.

(1) I found the smallest of warm spots and held onto them a bit longer then in the past.

(2) Distraction were a key because even though I laid in it the cold wasn’t all that surrounded my other senses.

(3) Cold became a challenge not just a burden to conquer.

(4) Fairness isn’t what I focused on but the bigger picture outside the tub.

Joseph -D’Var Torah-2027- Patience

Posted by Bruce - in Uncategorized - No Comments

Today, more than ever, we all need a bit more “patience”.  In a world where instant gratification is literally at your fingertips, we should take the time to think about how long it truly takes to win. Joseph foreshadowed that Rome wasn’t built overnight and held onto a dream that began many, many moons ago.   He faced so many setbacks along the way that they only made him stronger as he moved toward his promised path. From slavery to imprisonment to being forgotten, his mind was built for that age, not the one we live in today. It’s ironic that in a time when we are “generally” living longer, we expect results much faster than people in the past, who walked less than half the distance we do. They might have accomplished less bold visions than we see today, but I bet we don’t have time to look at the whole drawing. We think we are so advanced, yet patience appears to be slipping away.  I’m speaking about my mirror as well. Thank G-D, Shabbos was created to slow us down and patiently find a path of peace, happiness, and patience.

Patience

Today, more than ever, we all need a bit more “patience”.  In a world where instant gratification is literally at your fingertips, we should take the time to think about how long it truly takes to win.  Years go by before one truly graduates from anything, while wars are not won overnight.  Many a setback or loss leads to a greater opportunity we couldn’t see if we hadn’t patiently walked through it. It’s ironic that in a time when we are “generally” living longer, we expect results much faster than people in the past, who walked less than half the distance we do. They might have accomplished less but appreciated it a whole lot more.  Patience, something we can all use a bit more of in our lives, expectations, and even in a song.

FOOTNOTE: Guns N Roses’ song “Patience” is over five minutes long; do you have the patience to hear it till the end?

Controlled

They have often dropped my strength by the control that they have possessed over M-E.  I was a puppet to follow and fit exactly into their structure until I started to cut away into freedom.  Yet I still fear their influence and negative feedback continues to pull me in. It is a weave that has taken a lifetime to see in my own mirror just as Truman was a show he didn’t want to be in.  I have to listen to advise just not allow it to possess my being. Thank G-D the mirror is brighter and I can see a whole new future even if some strings still remain.

Ralph Lauren- My Designer

I’m never been much into fashion design but “Ralph Lauren” is one I’m making an extra effort to wear. For this designer supports beauty from all over no matter the “political vibe” of the day.  While others might decide which look is right based on race, religion or culture Ralph Lauren looks to a higher source. Ralph Lauren for fashion is beautiful in all the worlds forms.

Rosh Hashanah- Personal Message To G-D

Posted by Bruce - in Uncategorized - No Comments

G-D, I’m sorry and will try to do better. With reflection, I know I understand I could have said, done, or been more.  Whether in my relationships, work, or faith observance.  As you know, I’m a work in progress, and Your willingness will allow me to keep the 9-to-5 and over time. Please forgive and do not hold the past transgressions against M-E and those of my loved ones, as I pray my sins are wiped from every slate.

FOOTNOTE-  If there are acts/words that I apologize for that don’t need it, please add them to those that are seeking but not discovering.

I Won – I’m…

It’s done; the mic has dropped, as I said: “I’m sorry.”   Yes, you can still have the last word, but mine ends the debate with just these two words.  You can either accept them, keep them in reserve based on my actions, or not allow them in, but at least I made a sincere effort to be empathetic with how you feel, and that’s all I can write. So I’m sorry, and I’m moving on, with or without your acceptance.

Forgive M-E Please

Posted by Bruce - in Uncategorized - No Comments

Rosh Hashanah is a tough holiday as I’m forced to stare at my own mirror which has gathered small cracks and smears from the previous year. Yes, G-D might have allowed many of my errors/mistakes to fade away but I pray the years before of trying and not fully getting there won’t be used against me today.  Does it add even if it appears to be wiped away or in other words does forgiveness lead to some forgetfulness with a higher authority?  G-D willing our slates are fully cleaned not only for today but the years that came before.  So to start I pray that Y-O-U personally will forgive M-E for the sins, errors and omissions whether inadvertent or more apparent.  May you wipe my slate clean as I ask the one above to do the same. May G-D bless all his children with a year of health, wisdom,  happiness, success, peace and extra slice of F-U-N in the upcoming year.

When

When did it occur?  Yesterday, my eyesight was perfect now I open with a blur. It wasn’t long ago that my skin appeared is smooth as a grape now prune lines are everywhere. When did “what did you say” become part of my everyday conversation? Getting older doesn’t happen overnight it’s actually so gradual that the calendar before is so difficult to find. Yet, with all the extra lines occurring it doesn’t really effect you as long as you’re willing to put on the shirt and don’t worry so much about ironing just about living instead.
