Economic Dominoes

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Political - Comments Off on Economic Dominoes

It appears that the Economy is like a group of Dominoes ready to fall.  All it will take for this to occur is if Federal Reserve Bernanke decides to stop pumping it up with government monies.  Once those monies start drying up interest rates will start creeping up, this in turn will result in inflation going up, which will greatly hurt consumer spending and finally stop economic growth as a whole.  I believe this mess could have been avoided in the first place if the government was not this deeply involved in the free marketplace. Dominoes G-D willing my predictions are wrong but in case I’m right it might be a good time to consider investments in Gold and other precious metals.

Never Again! Is that a hollow statement today?

Today a holocaust of the innocent is occurring in North Korea and the world ignores these atrocities. Innocent families are put in concentration camps as described in “Escape from Camp 14” yet the world ignores their pain.  The 6 concentration camps have lasted twice as long as the Soviet Gulags yet we hardly hear a word from the world community. How can we truly make a difference.

(1)  Get involved in the movement click  http://www.snkr.org/

(2) Advocate that world bodies such as the UN demand an end to this persecution.

(3) Organize a boycott of Chinese goods until the government agrees to put pressure on North Korea to close these camps. The Chinese government props up North Korea.

(4) Plan for joint military action to liberate these camps if all else failsescape 2

Mayor Bloomberg Strikes Again — and This Time He’s Trying to Regulate…Trash

Instead of just tossing your orange peels, coffee grinds, egg shells and table scraps into the garbage can, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg is proposing a plan that would require residents separate compostable food items from their regular refuse.

Health- The 4 Parameters

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Health - Comments Off on Health- The 4 Parameters

Health   I believe you can not achieve true health and happiness if you lack health in any of these key areas (below).

(1) PHYSICAL HEALTH- This is achieved by having a balanced diet, proper exercise, and the right amount of rest.  Having a balanced diet is more then eating the proper foods it also includes supplementing those foods with vitamins that truly become incorporated in your body. A liquid vitamin has the best chance to achieve these results.  Proper exercise means that you exercise on a regular basis and work on all your body parts. I’m working on the proper rest section.

(2) MENTAL HEALTH- Is achieved by challenging your mind either through deep discussions, writing, reading, and/or brain games such as seen on “Lumosity.com” . It also is achieved by getting counseling from friends, family, or professionals when events become too difficult.

(3) SPIRITUAL HEALTH- Is having a positive relationship with your maker. It is achieved by taking the time each day to thank G-D, apologize to G-D, and pray for our needs as well as for others . It also is achieved by taking a day of rest to contemplate the true meaning of life.

(4) FUN HEALTH-  It is important to take the time to have fun and enjoy some great entertainment. This can be achieved by laughing with friends, seeing a great movie or listening to some great music.

Censorship for your Children

Posted by Bruce - in arts and entertainment, Blog, Faith - Comments Off on Censorship for your Children

Do you censor what your children can watch or listen to? We all do to some degree but at what age does that censorship lesson or end? Does that censorship make the child more moral or more rebellious? What type of programs and/or music do your censor? These are difficult questions for any parent to deal with especially single parents that have to decide by themselves? Although I can’t answer this question fully for your family I hope these points help in your decision making.

(1) What is the intention of the graphic violence, sexual content and or profanity? Is it to titillate the audience or is there a deeper meaning? If there is a deeper meaning will your child understand it and/or will you be there to guide them?

(2) Is your child prone to model the behaviors they see in a movie or television show?

(3) Can your child have a profound discussion on what they’ve seen and what it truly means to them and also listen to others on this same subject?

(4) Websites like http://www.kids-in-mind.com/ can also help you in deciding if this film is right for your children

I personally have had a very liberal policy imposed on me as it relates to censorship  as a child in terms of what I could watch or hear and have passed this policy on to my children. There are times I regret this policy especially when they use profanity but in general I believe this policy has enabled my children to see the world in various colors and shapes. We then discuss these colors and shapes as a family. On the other hand I’ve witnessed many families shelter their children from certain types of media and have seen that have positive and negative effects on their children.  I hope this information is helpful.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - Comments Off on Happy Fathers Day!!

To all my fellow fathers I want to wish you a happy, healthy Fathers Day. The role of a father has never been more important yet society seems to discount them more everday. A father brings support, love, fun and forgiveness in a way that a mother can’t do. It is a beautiful team G-D has created and we should cherish each others role in truly making a society great by bringing in the next generation.Fathers day

On a personal note “Thank you Dad” for always being their for me in good and bad times. I can never thank you enough or show you the love for all you’ve done.

Freedom VS Fear

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Political - Comments Off on Freedom VS Fear

Every free society is challenged by the fear that  freedom can result in devastating consequences for them personally as well as their friends, family and associates. When fear is maximized freedoms are more restricted.  Our own neighbor might be a terrorist so we must listen to everyone’s conversation.  We fear the parents of today can’t properly raise their children so we must restrict how these parents can raise their children (64 oz sodas,  birth control at public schools etc)

How do we balance the challenge of having a free society and a safe society? How do we protect society from those individuals who take “unnecessary risks” that in the end costs us all? How do we insure that our citizens freedoms are protected against fear?  Below are a few ways we can accomplish these missions.

Freedom Security

(1) We should profile people not just on their background but also their behavior. Those that fit this criteria will be investigated as well as their contacts.  Their must be a clear timeline set for the closer scrutiny sanctioned by the judicial branch. If no evidence of wrong doing is shown by a certain period of time the surveillance of this individual must be stopped.

(2) Citizens should not be forced by the government to buy a product for themselves or their families if they deem that product not necessary. These individuals must be educated concerning the benefits of such a product and the consequences of not purchasing this product.  Yet  their must be a cost to the individual if their refusal to purchase such a product (ex health insurance) results in a cost for society as a whole.

(3) The government must not prohibit an individual from a buying a product that they desire unless that product causes immediate harm to the individuals and/or those near the individual. Governments job is to educate the individuals about the possible ramifications of their decisions not dictate to them. Government should have the right to put a sin tax on items that have been clearly identified to cause long term harm to said individual and therefore bear a burden to society.
