As we look for a new leader to run the free world it sometimes is helpful to reflect on leaders in the past to find the characteristics that last. Imagine if during one of these “heated arguments” one of the candidates plainly stated the other was right and he/she was wrong? That actually occurred in a publicly more then a few years back when Moses publicly rebuked Aaron for not taking an action but when he heard Aaron’s reason Moses publicly stated Aaron was right and he therefore was wrong. There was no excuse made just a simple statement that the other person was right and he was wrong. If that occurred in our public discourse today, with our leaders wouldn’t we all be better for it?
The Big Short- A Perfect Title
“The Big Short” is a movie that truly lives up to it’s title. Not only does it describe how shorting in the “real estate bubble” caused several people to become very wealthy while the rest of the nation suffered but it leaves out the politics that caused this to occur in the first place. There is no mention of the prime cause, which is that the Federal Government put pressure on all banks to give mortgages to individuals who’s credit was warranted for such loans because of past wrongs some banks practiced in discriminatory actions. That the Presidency under Democratic and Republican administration continued this policy because it looked good that the housing market was growing and nobody wanted to be accused of discriminatory practices. The banks had a fiduciary responsibility to protect their own companies and therefore found instruments to hide such poor investments by bundling them together but of course this wouldn’t fit with the “liberal agenda Hollywood is glued too”. Of course many in Wall Street acted in a malicious, unethical and vicious way but the government created the shark in the first place and once it was created it kept building it’s kill. “The Big Short” is a fine movie that kept you interested in a topic that could have you reaching for the remote but a bit more balance would have made an excellent movie instead.

St. Patty’s Day Parade-becomes accept me parade
St Patty’s Day is a joyous occasion where even those who aren’t Irish or Catholic celebrate with a glass of Guinness Beer and/or a Corned Beef Sandwich but we should understand the roots of the holiday deal with a Saint who brought Christianity to Ireland. Although the holiday has expanded to taking pride in feeling a bit of Irish in all of us the organizers of the St. Patty’s Day Parade had for years considered it’s Catholic roots which strongly condemn the act of Homosexuality. Those who were gay could easily participate in the parade without pushing their sexuality view on everyone who attended. I thought this parade was to celebrate Ireland not sexuality? I also thought being gay was just another characteristic of a person not how that individual should be viewed entirely? Homosexuality isn’t a race, religion, or even a culture according to those who broadcast it to the community so why should a sign be necessary to show that? Maybe next year they could have a group for Oral sex lovers as well. Yet the St. Patty’s Day Parade has become another symbol of the gay movement forcing us not to tolerate their lifestyle choice but instead accept it or face the legal and if necessary violent consequences. I hope someday we can move away from the agenda and just be who we are as a whole instead of being labeled with a giant sign above our head.
Merrick Garland Supreme Court Justice Deal
The Republican’s should move very, very slowly in considering Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court all the way to the end of the Obama Administration but have a fast lever if certain events occur during such a period . They both would appear to be secret except for the starred** one below that would some how be leaked to the White House.
(1) G-D forbid Hillary Clinton is elected on November 3rd then Merrick would be approved before the inauguration period because she would pick a more liberal candidate then this individual. This would be rushed even faster if in addition the G.O.P loses seats in the Senate
**(2) If somehow the Obama Administration allows justice to occur as it relates to the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton then the G.O.P could move this justice along.
(3) The President moves on a piece of legislation that he wouldn’t have considered in the past such as totally revamping Obamacare or eliminating the Income Tax. Hey it’s nice to dream.
Why Marco Rubio lost?
I never wanted to write this blog piece and is it is often said it’s easy to be a Monday Morning quarterback but I saw this occurring on Saturday while I closed my eyes. For Marco Rubio was nearly the perfect quarterback who was not informed on where and even if he should have thrown the ball. Here are just a few ways (below) that would have helped Marco win this political game.
(1) ATTACK THE MEDIA– When the media was portraying him as almost guaranteed to lose he needed to take the offense and get on as many of these channels as possible to change this narrative as well as bring up an “exciting new proposal”.
(2) ADMIT MISTAKE 1ST– As soon as a mistake occurred in the campaign don’t wait for the media to take the ball but he should have grabbed it instead and make a self deprecating joke if possible to lesson the impact.
(3) SIMPLE STUPID/DONALD SPEAK- Have an easy simple log line that people can easily grasp and make sure it’s repeated at nausea as if it was a Coke Commercial- “It’s the real thing”.
(4) THROW THE BOMB– When it appears your message isn’t getting through the market go outside the normal market (ex Howard Stern Show)
Annoying People- Truly Help
We can learn more from an annoying person then we would want to admit. For this annoying person tells us like they see and loud enough for us to hear it. In between their annoying comments is a truth that we can improve on that others have been kind enough to let pass. If we filter the annoyance out we can utilize their comments to improve on our traits and therefore become a better person. I’m definitely seeing the cup 3/4 full but what other choice do we have for the annoying person(s) aren’t going away anytime soon.
Florida Republican Primary Results “Rubio Squeaks out Florida Upset”
I guess my fingers didn’t reach G-D’s ear’s. What a great concession speech a sad day for Marco Rubio but a sad day for America as well.
[youtube_sc url=”https://youtu.be/RFNU84MTwJQ”]
Marco Rubio has shocked the political pundits with an incredible come from behind victory against Donald Trump in what was a squeaker of a race. Marco Rubio victory couldn’t have been closer as he eked a victory over Donald Trump by 1 % . Not one of the political pundits thought this was possible but the Rubio machine was able to utilize all it’s resources to pull out voters in communities that the Donald has appeared to offend. This comes after the media elites had egg on their face from Bernie Sanders shocking victory over Hillary Clinton even though he was down double digits in all the polls as well. With Donald losing in Ohio and Ted Cruz winning in Illinois the Republican race appears to be in full force well into the convention.
From my fingertips to G-D’s ear.
Jealous
It’s hard not to crack when it appears that someone has it made and you feel it should have been you. You could have been the one swimming in the bigger pond but feel trapped in that little bowl. You’re the one with the talent why didn’t the world see that? It could have been breaks that came their way but more likely it was doors that you were afraid or “had better” things to do then open. They achieved success because they were in the right place at the right time but also worked hard to make sure they knew where that place was. So the next time you feel jealousy growing within let it motivate you outside to make the change needed so that someone else will have that same feeling about you before you know it.
Florida/Ohio 2016 Presidential Primary- Waiting Period
This might be the longest waiting period in John Kasich & Marco Rubio’s Presidential run. For although the polls might swing up and down during this period nothing really happens until that fateful Tuesday morning. This is their one chance to prove that they still deserve to be in the main ring and the tension couldn’t be heavier then if it was a soda can shook up for days on end, ready to explode. I can only imagine the pressure building day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute until they finally are relieved on Tuesday whatever the outcome may bring. There will be many political analysis reviewing what occurred during and after the result but only two men who will have their stomach’s and bodies tied into knots until that moment actual occurs.
Trump cancels rally in Chicago or silence wins battle but not war
I’m not the biggest supporter of Donald Trump but what occurred in Chicago makes me stand firmly on his side. For silencing those you disagree with is something you see in Cuba not in our country. If you don’t agree with a candidates position you should peacefully protest outside such a venue but it’s wrong to silence those who have come to listen by disrupting such an event. Political discourse must be maintained with civility for a democracy to truly be Democratic. I will be attending an event that Hillary Clinton will be speaking at and although I strongly disagree with her words and actions I will be respectful while she speaks. Those who believe by silencing such an event through rude and near violent protest have instead added timber to a fire that will only spread Donald Trump’s message to areas not usually ignited by his words. They may have done more to unite people behind Donald Trump then any speaking engagement would have done. As someone who has supported those running against Donald Trump thanks for nothing
