What happens if the world that we thought was “Safe and Sound” becomes truly the face of horror and terror. “Terror at Home” takes you where other horror scripts dare to go, your home and shows you fear that you’ve never experienced before. What happens in those areas that we have never truly explored right behind our backyard and when those are disturbed nothing will ever be the same! Fear no longer has to be found away but is right at home. Are you up to exploring terror with me?

Robin Williams RIP – Mentally health can’t be ignored.

robin williams

The untimely and unnecessary passing of the talented Robin Williams proves again that mental health needs to be treated. What a shame that a great talent had suffered so much from this sickness that the only remedy he could seek was to end it all.  May his passing open the door and discussion of mental health so that someday all those who are troubled can get the treatment they need before it’s too late.

Acting for one.

artist singing for one

How do you know if you’re truly an artist? An artist can of course perform before a large audience but when that individual performs for only person how do they react?  If the artist is willing to put as much effort for that one person as they would have done for the crowd then we can determine that individual is truly an artist. For the art is truly what drives them not the fame and fortune. When you meet such an individual please make sure you give them a standing ovation even if you’re the only one standing a dollar wouldn’t hurt as well.

Are they worth 1 million an episode?

big bang theory

7 MILLION – That’s a “Big Bang”

It’s the number 1 comedy in America but would increase their salaries from 325,000 an episode to  1 million ? That really is a Big Bang!  If I was the management side I would consider introducing a new character at a bargain price (I’m available and cheap) and therefore cut my costs per episode. Maybe it’s time to write an episode where we actually where “Sheldon” goes home to see his family. In the end the characters might get their 1 million per episode but not be seen in all the episodes that occur reducing the overall costs of the production.

Devil’s Due- A great home movie

Devil's Due

ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING SCENES IN THE FILM

Some movies are great to watch on the big screen while others make their greatest appearance on the home screen. A good example of this is “Devil’s Due” which I truly enjoyed at home but would have hated it in the theater.  This movie would have irritated me  on the big screen because some scenes were a bit too long and the jumpy camera can really make you feel like jumping out of your seat but with the ability to fast forward some scenes and go back to others this film worked just right.  The story was a light version of “Rosemary’s Baby with a bit more action then expected.  The acting and story were fine but the special effects were amazing.  In short ‘Devil’s Due” it due your attention at home but not in theater.

Hillary hype

Hillary Clinton

I find it interesting how the media latches on to a person for no particular reason and makes them a star even though they have a record of failures. One of the clearest examples of this is “Hillary Clinton”. The media has continually pushed her up the channels of leadership even though she has failed in her previous roles (see below).  Why is that the media is in love with her and what it would take for them to change the page and more importantly when will they give those with true success the spotlight?

(1) Failed in her attempt as First Lady to get Health Care reform. A matter of fact was the main impetus for the Republican take over of the House.

(2) Hillary Clinton has no notable achievements as Senator of NY. There is no legislation accredited to her work.

(4)She lost the Democratic Presidential nomination to a political lightweight  (at that time) Barrack Obama although she had all the resources and media power to push her to the top.

(5) Mrs. Clinton has notable accomplishments as “Secretary of State”. We can see the results of her leadership in the world chaos today.

(6)”Hard Choices” has a had lackluster sales and her media blitz has seen many unforced errors.

South Park hits a home run…

South Park

I know it’s rude and can often be offensive but it’s still hysterical. In a TV world of bland comedies that try to please everyone “South Park” goes in a different direction and actual produces laughs.  No person or object is sacred on this show and therefore you never can predict where the humor is going to come from which continues to makes it refreshing after all these years.  “South Park” what comedies are supposed to be, funny.

Purge 2 – bad and good

Purge 2

I don’t believe I’m having an episode it’s just that this movie gave me so many reasons to hate but I still liked it at the end.  To be kind the acting was less then inspiring.  The typical Hollywood anti-religion and anti-wealth themes seeped through as well yet this didn’t distract as much as I expected mainly because the action scenes were well cut and the film moved at a rapid and engaging pace. There were also many twists and turns that I didn’t expect.  Purge Anarchy survives what could have been a deadly night because of these wonderful aspects.

Utopia … show

utopia 2

Imagine if you could build a society from the ground up. “Utopia” is the first “reality show” to attempt this endeavor.  Individuals will come together to build their “perfect society”  Yet in the end after they’re “year expert” they have to come back to reality and pay their income, sales and other taxes. They also don’t truly have the ability to enforce their laws with imprisonment or other means. Most importantly will they truly be fighting for their vision of a more perfect society or to be a bigger star on the boob tube?

I filled out an application to be on this show and left the information for you as well (below) but now that I found it’s up to a year commitment and I would be away from friends and family it might not be the Utopia I’m looking for.   It might appear to be “Utopia” or maybe it’s just another reality show it’s up to you to decide. If you get on the show just tell them Bud sent you.
