The riot in Charlotte North Carolina and in Baltimore Maryland are just examples of why cities need” Protest Zones”. These would be areas where those that have a beef/complaint against some group or even support said group can voice there 1st amendment rights without violating other people’s rights of commerce and peace. Those seeking to utilize such space would just simply reserve a spot (1st come basis) and give authorities an estimate of the size of their expected group. Protest zones would be open to all views even those that are completely repugnant. Those that protest or rally outside these area’s in which their grievance isn’t directly related to this specific area, would immediately be subject to arrest and prosecution. Freedom of speech must be protected but not freedom to riot and create chao’s. Protest Zones will enable both rights to exist in harmony and peace.
