Missing

late 2 late

The choices we make today we’ll insure we miss other opportunities for fun and success along the way.  There maybe no turning back the clock so we can either live with that regret or learn from I choose to go back to school.  Even the choice of one channel vs an other can turn us from laughter to tears in less then five minutes (some shows are very sad while others are hilarious).  Learning from opportunities missed leads me to my next blog piece…. “Care for others… Lose Self or…”

Government or Us

big governmentHelping the poor

We can either expect the government to take care of us as it takes more from us or we could decide to take of each other better.  Either we in our personal life take a greater responsibility for ourselves  and those around us or they’ll be a demand for others to do it causing us lose more freedom and hard-earned monies along the way. Government should be there to fill in the cracks but not create new ones because we want more from the “Nanny State”. When we allow government to take up our responsibilities it is done in a less efficient and more costly way even with the best of intentions because of the bureaucracy needed to be created even  to address the problem in the first place let alone run it to existance.  It is up to us to decide  what type of society we want not just from the words we  use but the actions we  take and if we take the right steps we’ll truly help those on the ground without moving us closer to it as well.

New Hampshire Primary-Jeb Bush-Great but…

Jeb Bush

I met Jeb Bush in New Hampshire today and I really like him yet I don’t believe he gives the G.O.P. the best chance to get back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He’s got an incredible record of conservative accomplishment along with a successful business career too bad those accomplishments can’t be shown on one’s face. He also is a very warm, friendly, funny, and kind in person but for some reason those qualities don’t seep through well on the big screen especially when there are six other people  on the stage.   As sad as it may seem accomplishments don’t get you to the White House otherwise  John Mccain would surely have been sitting there now.  Charisma is key and the ability to want to have a beer with that person across the television screen.  Those are 2 qualities that Jeb doesn’t have although in person I would gladly share a Bud with him. Individuals with conservative values must be willing to jump out of their comfortable chair to go and have that beer as they check off the right spot, while those with opposite views must believe the opponent doesn’t “look” so bad so they might as well stay home or even give him/her a shot.  I don’t believe Jeb Bush has that quality.  Just like a fine actor some people have and some don’t it is that special “um factor” that can’t be taught or learned it just is.  I’m truly sorry to say that I don’t see it in Jeb because he would make an excellent President as well.

Live Free or Die… Really!!!

Live the Adventure

As I stepped into New  Hampshire I truly experienced  their motto “Live Free or Die”!  For as I was leaving the car my seat belt got stuck in the door and as a result a new freedom was experienced that I never expected.  It was the first time in many years that I drove a car with out a seatbelt on.  Come to think of it I’m not sure if it was complete freedom because I didn’t have a choice, my seat belt was  stuck.  The Die part of the motto ran through my head as well for if I was in an accident during that time being the appearance of a Scythe was clearer then ever.  Luckily this motto died quickly in my car as my seatbelt was pushed in it’s proper position (with help from friends) and my freedom to wear or not wear my seat belt was back in my hands and life.

Marco Rubio- Accusations?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy, Political - No Comments

Marco Rubio

Recently Governor Jeb Bush & Governor Chris Christie have made strong accusations against Marco Rubio in terms of his lack of accomplishments and of him repeating the same speech as if he was in a bubble. I was curious if there accusations were political spin or based on the  truth so I did a bit of research on my own.  In terms of political speech’s I’m sure that Marco has repeated the same lines at several formats  but as anyone in marketing will tell you that is to insure that emphasis is made on key points. I think Chris Christie (911 story) and Jeb Bush (I’m proud) as well as Donald Trump (make America Great) and Ted Cruz (Consistent Conservative) should look in the mirror before pointing it toward Marco on this point.

I believe it’s  important that a candidate be humble from where they come from and not just read his achievements in a boastful way yet the must have a record of successful. Here are a few of the achievements (below) that Marco Rubio has been successful in but doesn’t boast about it everyday, instead  looks to what he can achieve if he is blessed to live in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. In conclusion I believe that Governor Christie and Governor Bush should do a bit more research before they make such accusations and this lack of work on their part hinders their Presidential aspirations.

(1) Added important additions to the  VA bill which Bernie Sanders opposed that woul allow top VA Managers to be fired for not doing their job.

(2) Fought for legislation to  sanction foreign banks that support Hezbollah (a terrorist organizations)

(3) Led an effort to put sanctions on the Venezuelan regime that has suppressed political opposition and basic human freedom.

(4) Fought to stop taxpayers monies going to fund insurer’s companies loss of income do to Obamacare.

(5) As Florida Speaker of the House met with the citizens and listened to their ideas for a better Florida which led to a 100 innovative ideas for Florida’s Future. Over 50 of these proposals became law.

Peace = Faith

Freedom

When someone has true faith they are not shackled with trying to conquer the world alone but realize they are in an eternal partnership with the one being who truly decides everything. For even the most detail plans can go adrift with  a snow storm or even being unable to take in the breath of life. Therefore those of faith will try their best for a higher calling and leave it up to G-D to answer the line.  People of faith live in peace with an understanding that as much as it’s up to them to act the result is up to G-D now and in the future.

Health Hotel

Hotel

For those that aren’t sick enough to go to the hospital but not well enough to stay at home the HEALTH HOTEL would be just the right spot. These special places would be close enough to hospitals should conditions warrant it but far enough away to make you feel that you’re on a little vacation.  They would have the equipment to monitor your improvement without keeping you strapped up to machines. These special places would also help to make sure those who have been treated with mental health conditions and addictions were ready to face the real world with the tools needed to be a success.   HEALTH HOTELS primary concern will be to get the guest better to arrive at their permanent residency in top notch health and have a little fun along the way.

Julian Assange – Wimp

Julian Assange

Julian Assange stop being such a wimp and face the music. If you did nothing wrong then stop hiding behind the Ecuadorean Embassy and face your accuser in a court of law. Sexual harassment has nothing to do with any political justice and if you’re innocent of that crime you’ll be set free.     I’m sure either way you’ll get the best lawyer possible for pro-bona and you’ll probably walk away like O.J so why not allow justice to work.  President Obama will probably pardon you  even if you’re found guilty of giving of national security leaks because those leaks helped him politically.   Everyone deserves their day in court especially those accused of crimes.

For those that are Kosher this blog post is not for you but for those that are Jewish this might be the one you’re hungry for.  “Basic Judaism”  believes that those who follow strict Kashrut rules are on the right path but that there are other paths that are right as well even if they might be a bit bumpy.  Here is one path I’ve taken (below) that is based on the bible/Torah yet doesn’t dot the Kashrut rules.  I hope it helps with your soul search and your hunger.

(1) I don’t eat Pork or Shellfish- Sorry it’s forbidden by the Bible/Torah. I’ve even extended that to “Swordfish” which is on the line.

(2) Lamb with Milk is also not on the table for the same reason above and I have generally extended that too other animals that milk their young including beef.

(3)New rule – I try to say a simple prayer thanking G-D before eating any meat products and cut a small cut into the meat before eating it to symbolically remove any blood.

(4) Beef is also ordered well done to make sure blood is released from the animal.

(5) Friday nights I try to eat Kosher food to support this industry and will eat Kosher food out of the house on many other occasions (especially if it’s as good as non-kosher).

(6) Once a month or so I have my vegetarian day where no meat is consumed.

(7) When going to non-kosher restaurants  I generally don’t order beef products but are tending to eat more fish and chicken.

(8)I’ve cut back on my red meat as a whole mainly for health reasons but if it helps me to climb a few steps in the right direction then why not.

(9) A small portion of my food is left over before and after eating to symbolically give it back to G-D who has created everything.

Live the Adventure!!!

Live the Adventure

We can get set in our sedimentary ways once that pattern appears to occur day after day that’s why it’s important to break free once in awhile and “LIVE THE ADVENTURE”.  Go on a trip where  you’re really not exactly sure what you’re going to see or even do. Try something brand new just to shake it up as long as it doesn’t shake your soul down.   Life is too short not to live the moments in between, even if it kills you at least you were alive during those moments.  Live the adventure for life is about living and sometimes it takes a step to the extreme to experience it.
