A Different Path

a different path

I’m charting a different path then I’ve walked in the past. For today I’m looking to invest in a business start-up that carefully and respectfully listens to my voice among others. This way I can bring my fingerprints into a unique project but my body can still work on other projects that take up a bit more time. I realize that life is short and  therefore want to be able to help those who have a vision with my funds and mind.  If you know of a start-up or current business that wants a different path to go on please contact me.

Ebola and State’s Rights

   ebola

If the Federal Government won’t take the necessary precautions to prevent Ebola from infecting it’s citizens then the State Governor’s must act.  The passengers that are coming from either Sierra Leona or Liberia must be thoroughly screened and even quarantined (for the 2 week incubation period) if necessary by the Governors before being able to enter that state. I’m sure there are other ways that this virus might spread but at least the most obvious way will be avoided.

A simple social security solution.

social security

Today we should offer those who would delay receiving social security  larger monthly payments depending on what age they decide they would need them past 65 years old. We should also allow those with higher incomes to invest a larger portion of their monies tax deductible for retirement in return for receiving a nominal portion of their social security benefits upon retirement.  This way we could leave more money in the system for those who have already retired and at the same time allow the system to have additional monies for the future.

If you were President?

oval office

How do you think you would handle the responsibilities of the Presidency if it was suddenly handed to you?  “THE PRESIDENT” puts your but in the hot seat and let’s you decide what is best for the country. You will also experience the feel of being in a simulated version of the “Beast” and “Air Force One”. This amusement ride is fun because it’s not real but the experience will last a life time especially if you decide to try to move to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

King for a day…hour

kings chair

Wouldn’t it be great if you could be treated like a King for the day?  If you were truly pampered as if you were part of the royalty. “King for a Day” enables a “regular person” to receive the elite treatment only reserved for the few. For those who lack the means can become royalty for a shorter period of time.  We keep the cost down by locating “King For A Day” in locations that have lower employment costs and have the resources to create this great effect.  Now you don’t have to imagine creating the next king because it’s you.

Wall Street Journal (1)- Weekend Edition October 4th

wall street Journal      T

oday I only had a moment to look at the Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition because it was Yom Kippur and I was worried about reading about food (Jewish Joke). Therefore I’m only listing the top story (below)that stands out in this head that was  fasting for over 25 hours or so. WHAT WAS THE TOP STORY THAT STOOD OUT IN YOUR HEAD?

(1) The opinion piece of Mr. Jimmy Lai a Billionaire who is actively involved in supporting the Pro-Democracy movement in Hong Kong against the oppressive Chinese regime. Here is a man who is putting his mouth and monies to support Freedom in his home country.

So fast yet so slow.

climbing

It’s like I’m driving a Lamborghini and a red-light suddenly appears out of nothing. The engine is ready to take off but the light doesn’t appear to change. That is my life I’m running up the hill only to trip as it appears I’m getting to the top. I’ll get back up but then a different path suddenly emerges and that top looks easier to reach until a giant rattlesnake stands in that path.  The truth is I’ve seen the top (with my binoculars) but I’m not sure that I’ll get there and it’s okay because the climb is worth if only for the new dreams it opens.

Ingrained Prolife-A BUD PROFILE

unborn

There are many things I would consider changing but my Pro-life stance is not one of them and it’s for reasons you’d never expect.  The most important reason is I believe that we can never truly determine when a life begins so how could we risk taking someone’s else’s life. If there is a time when science can prove conclusively that at a certain time an unborn baby is  plant or other creature then I might reconsider it. There are 3 personal experiences (below) that have kept me on this path.

(1) One day I decided to embark on creating a plaque with all my awards and certificates enclosed. When it was finished right in the center was my NRL card. The strange thing is that I had no intention for this card to ever be in this plaque and don’t remember including it as such.

(2) I was moving up the political ladder when I started seriously considering hiding my Pro-Life stands that day turned out to be one of the worst days of my life.

(3) When my girlfriend was pregnant we heard many comment from friends and family that we should terminate/eliminate that pregnancy. Thank G-D me and my wife didn’t listen to those comments as my son has continued to bring us and the world miles of joy and happiness.

Continually pushed

head in sand

THIS IS ONE SOLUTION BUT IT’S HARD TO BREATHE

We are continually pushed throughout our lives and how we push back determines if we are truly successful. It can start with simple peer pressure to do something that you know is wrong to the family pressure to do what you know is right (but don’t want to do). We can be pushed to prove we’re a man, pushed to act like a woman, to perform as a boss, or to have the respect of an employee. Those pressures continue to boil throughout our life and sometimes it feels like that lid is about to explode. Here’s a few ways (below) you can let some of that steam leak out in a peaceful way.

(1) Determine if you give into the pressure if it will help you only in the short term vs the long term.

(2) Insure that giving into the pressure won’t hurt the reputation, faith and values that you hold dear.

(3) Say a simple prayer before making the decision and be willing to listen to the signs afterwards.

(4) Develop an escape route before so that you can let the pressure dissipate in the air (a good joke, different discusion etc)

(5) Get the support of friends, family, clergy and others with the decision that you’ve made.

The Fast

A NEW YEAR- START’S A BLANK PAGE

On Yom Kippur those of the Jewish faith from various walks of life and backgrounds will come together and fast. The fast is our final act to ask that we be forgiven individually, as a people and as people’s from around the world. This is also a sacrifice so that we can truly realize how we are blessed by Hash-m. How often we take for granted the food that we eat and the steps that we have taken not fully accepting how fragile these resources truly are. For there are many in the world today where finding food and substance is a daily battle and we must not only thank G-D that we aren’t in this situation but also fight that this suffering will end as well. We must take the take during the fast to reflect on our lives and how we can truly be a better person. I want to wish my fellow Jews an easy fast and Gmar Hatima Tova= May you be inscribed in the book of life for good and may this blessing be upon all good people’s around the world.
