SPECIAL OLYMPICS

A DIFFERENT TAKE

If I was labeled mentally slow I don’t think I would want to be in the “Special Olympics”.  Just because my mental abilities weren’t up to those who might compete in a physical activity doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t compete with them on a physical activity.  It would be great to be able to prove to the world that I could compete in any physical activities even with my ‘limited mental capacity”. Why should these individuals be segmented to only compete in the “Special Olympics” ?  PLEASE COMMENT

If you found this section offensive then maybe you shouldn’t read this section below.

I just found out yesterday that the word “Retarded” is political incorrect.  The word “retard” means slow and is used in the building material industry to describe a product that slows down the drying time. I’m confused why this word is offensive against if it is used in a derogatory basis on those that aren’t slow or said in an offensive tone.  PLEASE EXPLAIN

Safe Act Registration

unsafe act

Let it be known that I’ve completed an act that I believe goes against the 2nd Amendment just because I don’t want the government that represents me to deem me a  criminal. This act was to fulfill the registration for a gun that I purchased legal and now the government wants to know about it.  Please note that this is the same government power that totalitarian regimes have used to insure their power over the people. I fear the consequences of acts like this not for me but the land that I love.

Happy Pesach/Passover

Happy Passover

Happy Passover to all my fellow Jewish brothers and sisters. Let us not forget how G-D freed us from slavery and not forget those who are still in the bondage of tyranny from Africa to Iran let G-D bring freedom to all his children.  May the opportunities of freedom and peace spread throughout the lands as prosperity, hope and justice are the way of the world.  May your Matzoh go well with your system and may your families and friends enjoy the Seder together.

Managing Free Time

free time

What do you do when you have a spare hour or even day on your calender?  If you can be productive with those moments then I believe you can truly move ahead. Moving ahead doesn’t necessarily mean having a bigger house or an extra car but it can be enjoying your life at it’s fullest.  I personally spend most of my free time with my creative pursuits of reading and writing and occasionally I’ll just go out and enjoy nature.  If I still have a few minutes to kill I might indulgence in a little boob tube action or socialize with a friend or two among other activities.  This makes speaking with my friends or watching a television show more of a privilege and therefore more enjoyable.  It also enables me different world through creativity and challenge the world which I live in.

I HATE THIS TOWN!

MY INNER FACE GROWING UP

I remember hating the area that I grew up in. I couldn’t wait to get away from the people that resided there and from the pain of those earlier years. Whether it was the local bully or the young lady with way to much attitude I new, or at least I thought I knew this place was horrible.  Yet what is it with “a place”?

We can hate a location because there aren’t any real opportunities, or it lacks the aesthetics that we want, or maybe there is extreme pollution or dirt but  I would guess in most cases it’s the people we meet there.  We don’t usually hate a location because of a tree or squirrel that gets in our way but the people that do. It’s ironic because sometimes if we walk just one block away the buildings might be the same but the friend on the block changes everything. So the next time you say “I hate this town” I suggest you look and see if you can’t find a good person that will make this town beautiful again.
