I believe society has made it too comfortable that many people are unwilling to take the risks they need to truly succeed. They become dependent on the fragile life they need rather then break free to true independence. It’s best for many too truly have nothing to lose to be able to fully put their energies and efforts into success.
How many people afflicted with addictions are kept in their sickness because “kind people” give them the means to keep destroying themselves? This also occurs with welfare and “other poverty programs” that make the individual dependent on them and fearful of taking a chance for the better life. Finally how many great entrepreneurs are held back because they are worried about losing the benefits of a job that they truly don’t like? If these individuals were hungry they would take these risks which would make them more successful and make us a better society as a whole. To conclude sometimes the best medicine is no medicine at all but instead the strength we gain from the battle.
