New Phone hits UK

Let’s face it — we can’t be sure Nokia’s Lumia 1020 is worth the hype until it’s taken a thousand shots of Big Ben and Westminster tube station. Fortunately for us, the PureView-toting handset is landing in the UK from today. We’ve managed to wrangle confirmation that Vodafone, Three and O2 will be selling the unit, but alas, EE currently has no plans to offer the handset to its million-strong LTE customer base. We suspect more than a few of you, disappointed at Cupertino’s latest imaging update, may be throwing your cash at the screen right now.

Sony Walkman- of the future

Sony's 3in1 Walkman WHseries can be headphones, MP3 player and loudspeaker

Sony’s just amped up its Walkman line with the WH series of headphones, though the term “headphone” fails to capture the essence of the new models. The company’s also stuffed a 16GB MP3 player into the high-end NWZ-WH505 and a 4GB unit into the NWZ-WH303, giving you up to 4,000 tracks without any other device. It’s also compatible with a Mac, PC and other playback devices via a supplied cable. To top it off, you can take the cans off and flip a switch to turn them into xLoud tech speakers with Virtualphone surround sound. The NWZ-WH505 will deliver 20 hours of 1000mW, 5-25,000Hz headphone playback (30-20,000Hz for the WH303) on a full charge and an hour’s worth with a three minute quick charge. As for the speakers, we’re not sure how well they’ll fill in for a dedicated unit, but it’s gotta be better than those on your smartphone, no? Sony’s still mum on pricing and availability, but you can hit the source for more info.

Does this happen to you?

Do you ever feel that you are either being ignored or you can’t get a moments rest? For example just when a moment of brilliance is about to revealed some person starts yapping away and you forget it. You don’t want to be rude and tell that person to shut the …. up but you know what I mean.  Or on the other hand when you are bored nobody has time to talk. You feel like a lonely pussy cat (above)

It’s a paradox in life that I  have found a way to conquer or at least live with. To get my moment of brilliance I wake up at the crack of dawn. In truth I might not actually be brilliant then but at least I have time to think.  On the other hand when nobody has time to talk I find that special voice from reading a book, listening to music, or watching a movie on a subject that others might find boring.

How do you deal with these situations? I’d love to know.

Man Tries to Show Wife Gun Isn’t Loaded, Ends Up Shooting Her Instead

From Gawker.com

An attempt to show his wife that a gun brought into their home by a friend wasn’t loaded went terribly awry for one Vermont man who ended up shooting his wife in the legs.

Authorities in Windsor say Matthew Coleman, 37, had brought the 9mm handgun into the couple’s bedroom for safekeeping out of concern that children in the house might play with it.

When his wife, Dorthea, asked him if the gun was loaded, Coleman assured her it wasn’t, and demonstrated by pulling the trigger.

The gun went off, and a bullet struck Dorthea in one leg and exited through the other.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and Dorthea was rushed to a nearby hospital. She was conscious and alert at the time.

Police officers subsequently arrested Coleman and charged him with simple assault with a deadly weapon.

The county’s Deputy State’s Attorney David Cahill said Coleman avoided a harsher charge of aggravated assault because he failed to demonstrate “extreme indifference to human life.”

“Simply put, the state has charged Mr. Coleman for making a tragic, easily avoidable mistake,” Cahill told reporters.

Coleman pleaded innocent just the same.

IPhone 5 – information

INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ENGADGET

Wait, Apple unveiled two completely different iPhones on the same day? In the same year? The answer is a resounding yes, though we have a feeling Tim Cook’s little surprise wasn’t the most well-kept secret in Cupertino. Known as the iPhone 5c, this is the less expensive (yet vibrant) sidekick to the 5s, and we’ve been playing with the device here at Apple HQ. The device will be available for pre-order starting September 13th, and can be picked up at stores a week later on September 20th. You can get your choice of five colors, and the 16GB version will be offered for $99 on contract, while the 32GB tacks on an extra $100 to the total; if contracts aren’t your thing, the off-contract costs are $549 and $649, respectively. We’ll be bringing you a full helping of pics, vids and our initial impressions as we go along, so keep your eyes peeled here!

It appears that the 5c ultimately keeps to the same spec list overall, with a 4-inch Retina Display, A6 processor, LTE, 8MP camera and more — a huge difference, however, is the actual build, which involves a full multitouch display on the front and a single hard-coated piece of polycarbonate strengthened by a frame of reinforced steel.
