While other bodily functions leave you with an ending that is fulfilling sleeping doesn’t. For example once you finish eating and drinking you might want a little nibble right away but you’re not going to eat another lunch.  After your visit to the room of rest you probably won’t have to revisit for at least a few hours. Yet sleep leaves you feeling tired after you get up and if you start thinking about it will put you back in it’s spot before you complete your sandwich. Scientist will say it’s a necessary aspect of life but philosophers might disagree for when do you truly feel rested?.”Sleep” is the drug of our insanity for even though we won’t feel fully rested this time will still be banging our head to go to sleep again and again.

If CNN fully understood the impact of it’s story (below) I’m not sure it would have reported it. For it proves that President Trump is right and extreme vetting is needed before we allow individuals from other countries access to come to our country. We want to be welcoming but knowing that there are others who would pay money to get fake passports in order to do us harm is enough to prove the threat is real and for the good of our citizens we must be extremely vigilant to it.  Venezuela is only one country that has been reported on but don’t be naive other countries who might be strapped for cash might do the same or some how look the other way as passports are produced in their name.  We can’t live in fear but we can’t live without as well so let’s be safe then worry about being sorry later.

Saturday 4/01/17 8:12AM- Just breaking now President Obama has admitted to wire tapping/surveillance on Donald Trump as he was being surveilled himself. It appears the former President was a bit intoxicated when the remarks were made but the damning evidence is something that Attorney General Sessions said he is seriously looking into.  President Obama revealed that he even knows the truth about President Trump’s hair and provided detailed evidence including the store… I mean barbershop that takes care off it. Further details coming soon.

Day 3 of the AIPAC convention was probable my most exhausting not only for the conference but the long trip home.  Here are just a few points from this day which I’m able to write with 3 hours or so sleep.

(1) SAUDI ARABIA & ISRAEL- Top experts discussed how Saudi Arabia & Israel are working together behind the scenes on military cooperation, security and even business projects.  It appears the old Saudi Arabia is not anything like the one we’ve grown up with.

(2) SUPPORT FOR LATINO AMERICANS- A discussion from various Latino American’s political persuasion (although fairly moderate) occurred where they discussed the power that is growing in this community and why it is so supportive of a strong Israeli/American Alliance.

(3) BENJAMIN NETANYAHU- (PRIME MINISTER OF ISRAEL) Appeared to be more optimistic with Israeli American relationships with the new administration in Washington D.C.

(4) ABC’s OF TERRORIST GROUPS- We learned about the various terrorist groups in the Middle East their “motivating forces” and how effective we’ve been in defeating them.  Al Qaeda appears to be our biggest threat after G-D willing the defeat of ISIS.

(5) LONG TRIP HOME -Although this wasn’t on the AIPAC schedule it was part of may day and night 3.

Here are some basic written notes on the AIPAC Convention 2017- Day 2.  These notes are unfiltered so be aware those that are political correct and those that are grammar experts. For those who want a bit more with a politically correct tilt please join me at Congregation Shaarey Israel-18 Montebello Road this Saturday April 1st at 11 ish AM where I will present more extensive notes without trying to offend too many.

(1) Prominent Attorney  & Liberal Activist Alan Dershowitz spoke about his concern that too many of those on his side of the aisle have taken a more “Anti-Israel” position recently and pledged to work harder to try to change this wave.

(2)  A group of the leading Young Republican & Young Democrats went together to a trip to Israel sponsored by AIPAC and survived not only the trip but became friends afterwards (or what appeared as friends)

(3) Perez Hospital in Judea Samaria/West Bank helps to save Palestinian children  where there health institutions fail them. One of the children and his parents attended the conference to thank AIPAC and the work that it does.

(4) Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is actively seeking peace and security for Israel as well as it’s neighbors. He believes now is the time to build on that common interest between new partnerships such as Israel & Saudi Arabia.  The Former Prime Minister believes if you can change the context you can make peace.

(5) Israel’s ability to survive and thrive after the Holocaust has inspired many including those in Rwanda after the horrible massacre of Tutsi’s. One young man told his brave story of such survival and how is bond to Israel helped him recover from such a traumatic event in his life. Further not the Rwanda Prime Minister spoke about a conference Israel is having with many African leaders in the coming months to build on a bond of trust, security, prosperity and peace.

(6) AIPAC Innovation Showcase demonstrated products such as Watergen which literally produced water from air and Qylar Intelligence  which was a new way to provide security used as the Olympics in Buenos Aires.

I have many more notes but have to get ready to go to the conference today.

COMING SOON-  Israel’s Contribution to American Security,  Syrian refugees and Israel & Vice President Pence’s Remarks to the Conference,

I’m attending my 3rd Annual AIPAC (American Israel Political Action Committee) conference in Washington D.C. and here are some of the hi-lights from the 1st night (below). My computer is being obnoxious and not letting me show you any pictures for now so you’ll have to believe what I write.

(1) 1000’s perform Havdalah Services together- Havdalah concludes the end of a traditional Shabbos observance and combines all 5 senses in this ritual. We missed the taste because hard to pass a glass of wine to thousands of people.

(3) IN OUR HANDS- Trailer/Interview- Gordon Robertson from CBN (Christian Broadcast Network) discussed the making of this fine film that tells the story of the war to liberate Jerusalem for all the world’s faiths from Jordanian control. In less then 12 hours a plan was made to launch this battle.  Many at this time describe this victory as a miracle not only to retain Jerusalem but also that Israel survived this war.

(3)  OZ PERLMAN- A world renowned mentalist performed his incredible feats that astonished all in attendance.

(4) METRO STATION- Was a bit slower then NYC subway. If I attend this conference in the future I think I’ll stay in DC.
