Philosophy

Part II of the boring debate continues as sleepy eye Ben Carson is going to endorse Donald Trump. Someone get me an Expresso! I think the Dr. might have prescribed Donald some medicine last night as he didn’t come out swinging but almost sleeping.  Seriously though the endorsement appears to make sense for Ben Carson and Donald Trump are outsiders, they both have said extreme Anti-Muslim remarks, and Ben has still not forgiven Cruz for taking him out of the campaign.  This endorsement couldn’t have come at a better time for Donald Trump steals the spotlight just when the spotlight might have moved to the other candidates.

I’ve been a supporter for Marco Rubio’s  run for the Presidency way before he even entered the race but even I have to admit I hear the fat lady singing (It might be too much Fox News) .  The point is should he stick a sock in that mouth or decide to listen before the Florida primary?  If he was to leave the race before Florida he would give 99 delegates to Donald Trump but if he stayed in he could still lose big to Donald in Florida and peel off votes for the other Anti-Trumpsters in  Ohio, North Carolina, and Illinois.  He also could shock the establishment and do better then anyone expected (Bernie in Michigan).  I can’t tell Marco Rubio what to do but if I was in his shoes this would be my strategy.

(1) Media campaign before the debates hinting about some “New Exciting Information” that I’ll announce at the CNN Debate.

(2) Debate night

A. New solutions (battling terrorism, drug abuse, mental health problems, etc) even if moderators aren’t going in that direction.

B. Ignore Trump and Cruz personal attacks and focus on positive messages. “I believe we have broken the 11th Commandment and don’t intend to continue to break it further!”

B. Get Personal about strengths and weaknesses– bring a tear or two to the viewers eyes

C. End with Political Shockwave– If on Sunday night at 8PM if three polls show that the solutions and the positive message I’m presenting isn’t resonating with the people of Florida and the nation (ex. down by 15 points) I will pull out of the race.  “I’m a public servant which means I serve at the public’s behalf and if they decide that this isn’t the time or place then I accept their decision.  I will work 24 hours for 3 days straight to make sure that they are given all the information I can provide to make an educated decision.

D. I’d live up to the words in this debate.

No matter who we want for President (except the face above) John Kasich is the obvious choice for V.P.  He is extremely popular in the key state of Ohio as their past Senator and Governor and has drawing power across the board with  “moderates” in either party.  Your heart might go to a different candidate for this position but your mind leads you back to Kasich. It is true that Kasich won’t be the vicious biting dog we usual expect from this part of the ticket but appear more “Presidential”,  yet this year it appears those roles have been reversed anyway.  So wherever you might stand in the Presidential race let us agree to V.P. Kasich is the one who can unite us.

The best way to defeat Donald Trump is that the 3 candidates who are still in the race battling the Trump work together instead of fighting themselves. By denying a win to the Donald for as long as possible they will hurt the Trumpster enough to change the projector y of the race. Here’s a sketch of how it work (below)?

(1) Kasich & Rubio would say that they are not actively seeking votes in the Michigan Primary.

(2) In return Rubio & Cruz would agree to back away from the Ohio race.

(3) Finally Cruz & Kasich would pull out their resources in Florida.

(4) The three candidates would continue on this path until one of them doesn’t win the  state that they expect to be most competitive in then that said candidate would pull out of the race.

By completing these simple steps it would make it more likely that there would either be a brokered convention or one of the three would emerge as  the dominant candidate.
