Here is a site that might add a few chills to your back!
One Superhero that has not been portrayed well on the big or small screen is Superman. This is because his character is two dimensional and it’s hard to grasp because we in the audience want to see him flushed out. While Batman and Spiderman have life’s before they’ve gained their superpowers that is not true with Superman. Thereof we need to see Superman bound up. Here is how (below) I would change the story.
(1) Baby Superman is sent from his dying planet Kal-Ed with a bracelet attached to his wrist which holds back his super powers until he is mature.
(2) He is found in the woods and raised by various foster parents until he’s finally adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent. He is given the name Clark Kent after Jonathan’s WWII veteran, dying father.
(3) Clark Kent is picked on in school for his thick glasses, awkwardness and strange if not quirky remarks. When he gets very angry he gets some unusual strength and his bracelet cracks.
(4) Clarks family is in a sudden car crash and Clark utilizes his power to try and rescue them as his bracelet cracks in two. He is unsuccessful in saving Martha yet a strange vision is seen by Clark and Jonathan as they are taken to the hospital for observation. This vision reveals Clark’s true identity and the powers that he has.
(5) Jonathan and Clark will try to deal with these revelations as they also attempt to rebuild their family.
Wouldn’t it be great if there was an “Action Park” which was full of excitement from the time you entered to the time you finished? This park would not be concerned so much with rides but putting you in the action. Just like an action movie you would run through scenes battling all different forces (played by actors) and race to the finish before your competition did. There would be battles involving laser type weapons (laser tag) to firing weapons at certain targets, to jumping and climbing various objects all testing your endurance and abilities. Of course the entire time you would have your health monitored to insure it wasn’t too much a battle on that end. Is it time for us to get in the action or just watch it on T.V. it’s up to you to decide?
A maze is defined as being confused and truly not knowing which way to go. In life when things are going fine we can become complacent and not be willing to take the risks to move ahead but that also can occur when things are going poorly as artistically shown in “The Maze Runner” (review below) where fear of the unknown and the consequences they can bring truly stifles anyone to change. This movies helped me understand why those who are suffering would rather suffer then risk losing it all. Is it better to be eat corn in the dirt then be buried in it? Would you be willing to swim in the water even though it is getting hot or would you dare jump out and risk sudden death? For the first time I truly understood the dilemma of those who went through the Holocaust who probably thought it is better to survive the day then fight and die a useless battle. I wonder if push comes to shove who truly would be so brave?
*** 1/2 The Maze Runner is one of the exciting though provoking movies of the year. It deals with issues such leadership, risk aversion in a dramatic fashion. Their is fine acting and cinematographer although the screen gets a bit jumpy at parts. The only major flaw was the ending appeared rushed and needed more flushing out. I guess will discover more in the sequel which I’ll be waiting to see.
Two clouds pass in the night never knowing what each other brings to the world. They may never see each other again but still feel the cool breeze as they pass by. For just a moment they notice each other but just like the darkness in the sky it appears as if it was all just an illusion. How many clouds have you passed by?
Watching the show “Gotham” was not just watching an ordinary show but an entertaining experience. “Gotham” is quite an entertaining show in itself with plenty of twists and turns (see quick review below) yet it isn’t just a show that truly captured me but the marketing genius. The experience flows like a river down a stream
I DVR’s the show but to no avail as the commercials drew me in as well. They were sleek, action pact and truly knew the target market they were reaching. It became an experience that I couldn’t take a bathroom break in between. This is similar to the experience which many feel during the “Superbowl” where sometimes they ads can even be more entertaining then the action on the field (Superbowl blowouts). There is a certain art that is created when the Ad’s truly match the action on the screen and “Gotham” was able to create that art and in turn become my Monday night event.
Gotham tells the story of Batman and his world in his youth. It is truly interesting to see how these characters develop from their youth to the characters we know and love. The acting can be a bit overdramatic at times and the characters need a bit more flushing out but these problems are compensated by the action and twists and turns we witness on the screen. ***
It was a maze to get there but here are the top movies for the week of September 21st (below)
STILL MISS HIM
People that I’ve met claim that Lindsay Lohan is one of the most fun people to “hang with” is that why they have slowly let her hang herself? The truth is if we talked to friends and family members of those who have had a loved one who had a drug overdose most of them will tell you he/she was the life of the party. The person that everyone had a great time what could have gone wrong? This same story can be repeated with those that are serving time in prison, been involved in a fatal speeding crash, or even committed suicide.
There are plenty of “cool people” who never end up this way but there is a certain percentage that due and because they have “swagger” it’s hard to help them before it’s too late. We assume these individuals might just be going through a faze that they need to get out of, not realizing that these dangerous acts are truly becoming who they are. The initial high they received from the laugh or applause is being replaced by the excitement of living on the edge an edge that way to often pulls them off a cliff. Therefore if you truly love those individuals remove all the coolness and look into their heart. If it’s beating too fast it’s time for them to get the help they need before it becomes cold forever. Forced intervention can truly save us from losing some of those we truly cherish.
Did you ever imagine what wonderful food creations could be made with an individuals “Leftovers” ? “Leftovers” is a competitive cooking show where Chef’s going into unknown houses and have to make a delectable entry from the items and cooking utensils that are in these houses. This truly is a test of chef survival as they compete in the same place with the same ingredients and time to make the best dishes possible. Is “Leftovers” a show that you would want to create or give it to the dog.
