Pacific Ono = Chicken

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

  =

Pacific Ono is chicken at least according to my taste buds and eyes as I devoured at Rosine’s Restaurant in Anaheim California last night. I’m telling you from the texture to the look (cooked with seasoning of course)  you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. The flavor had not a hint of the one swimming in the water.  In other words Pacific Ono at least cooked at this restaurant will make you believe that fish really have feathers and a beak.

Richard Nixon & Me

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Richard Nixon was a complex person who become even more so after visiting his library in Yorba Linda, California yesterday. His resignation was my first public experience of politics and although those around me had an exuberance upon hearing the news something inside made me very sad instead. I had just started reading my ABC’s but somehow understood that there was much more to this story. So here below are some of the positive and negative legacies that the 37th President left behind to me.

POSITIVE

  1. Clean Water and Air Act- This enables us all to drink and breathe in a much more safe environment.
  2. The EPA – It’s important that our environment stays safe.
  3.  Richard Nixon brought a certain warmth to the cold war through Detente and the ABM Treaty with Russia.
  4. Title IX – Prevented discrimination on the basis of sex on education and/or sports.
  5. Desegrated Public School In the South
  6.  Provided essential aid to Israel in the 6-day war with its enemies.
  7. Started The DEA-  Which provided necessary tools in our war against illegal drugs.
  8.  Opening the door with China
  9.  Ended the War in Vietnam

NEGATIVE

  1. Lost the War in Vietnam-  With a resounding and embarrassing defeat.
  2. The EPA- Initially a great organization but after several administrations now an intrusive and abusive one as  well
  3. Watergate- It was a silly break-end and cover-up that was worse than the crime.
  4.  Opened the Door W China a bit too wide.  Other administrations would later take out the door as a whole.
  5.  After Roe Vs Wade – Richard Nixon did nothing to stem the reckless abortion decision and the millions who were slaughtered because of it its wide-open use.

Just Wait

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Your clock is not always set to the right time. For, just because you opened your mouth, heart and soul doesn’t mean a higher authority will act right away. Maybe G-D is waiting to see whether one truly believes or maybe you’re expecting rather than truly requesting.  All I know is the water doesn’t stop exactly when you might want it to but eventually it will. For, in the end as good as you think your watch it’s honestly not working at truly the right time.

Lab Grown Meat -ALL IN

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Make my reservation for “Lab-Grown Meat” for once it hits the production line I’m all in.  For, this is the meat that appears “Kosher” at least on my list as no animal is slaughtered during its development so to me it’s like eating a vegetable grown in a lab though. As a matter of fact, with my environmental friends, it probably is much more so than the ones that flatulating across the great midwest.  Of course in the end taste and health concerns will also be added to this plate but if it’s somewhat like the original I’ll be on this butcher’s block.

Walk in a Toe

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Realistically, I can’t expect you to walk in my shoes but how about a toe or two? For, the path I take is so off your beaten path that even putting on the sock will appear too hard so all I ask is one toe hopefully the big one.   In other words, you may never understand the why but try and step into the feel even if it’s just one toe at a time.

Bud Rebel Film Festival

I propose formulating the “Bud Rebel Film Festival with the following parameters (below).  If it goes as G-D willing planned, it will be a festival featuring films that are 1st entertaining with a unique twist and in some way make you feel good like a Buddy.

  1. Date January 20th
  2. Location- Boca Raton, Florida
  3. Featuring- Shorts & Full-Length Films that are truly entertaining have a unique angle and make you feel somewhat good in some way.
  4. Panel Discussions, Food Tasting and surprises are additions I’d like to make
  5.  Audience Participation all the way
  6.  Portion of proceeds going to a worthy charity
  7.  Entertainment all around the festival must be the key.

Never Know – A True Story

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

It’s my drawing I just didn’t know how best to put my name on it. I guess because in those days we sorta went by grunts and ughs. Yet it took so long because all we actually had was animal bones not the high-tech pencils you have today.  I guess you just looking at my work brings some pride I just wish you knew it was M-E.

One Thing At A Time- One Thing…

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

One Thing At A Time is one thing more I will write about on my musical weekend. This song just couldn’t be left off the list of songs that helped make my weekend extra special. It’s great when a song takes you to a different place especially when it’s long tired ride you are on and “One Thing AT A Time” sure did that for me.  It’s a fun pick me up song that was meant to be at just the right time and at the right place. Sometimes a song just hits the moment and “One Thing At A Time” needs to be added to this list.

***- Great Song *** 1/2 – Add a half star if it’s the right time and place too.

My Son – A Story

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

I have to accept him no matter what right? The truth is I can be against his lifestyle without being against him, correct? It just seems so wrong but I guess they say it’s his genetic makeup so I shouldn’t judge him, but it’s against the values I was raised with.  G-D knows I didn’t raise him this way and you have to wonder in your head could it be some of the friends that he hung out with him, that lead him to this lifestyle? I have unconditional love for my son even though he is a vampire.

FOOTNOTE- This story is not true so don’t take out your crosses and garlic when you see my son although I wonder if my reaction would be?

Tilt… Museum?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

The “Tilt Museum” is a museum for the Instagram generation.  This is not a museum where one takes a deep appreciation of the world around them but makes a Tick Tock video for their own world.  I don’t even understand how the museum became part of it’s name it should have been the “Tilt Photo Gallery” instead.

  • – As a museum***- As a photography studio

FOOTNOTE-  After going to this museum. I think any place that lists themselves as such should have a cereal type of label with a warning of what really is in this box/building.
