Great Art … A Story

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, cars - No Comments

I arrived late for my art class as I saw individuals already working on pieces that would attach to large collage, when suddenly the teacher called on me.  He told me to think of the 1st thing that comes to mind that I’m passionate about. I responded without much depth dogs. He then asked me why I believed dogs held such a powerful image in my head? I responded because they are loyal and always make you feel like a star.  He then proceeded to tell the class that is what great art should be.  Great art is that extra deep inhale or that sharp exhale. It takes the viewer/listener into the artists emotions with enough space that the viewers can feel it in their own breath as well. Never becoming a lecture just touching  the emotions and letting the viewer create their own story around it.

FOOTNOTE- This story is a true story that occurred in my head during a dream sequence with some additions later on.

I SAW IT!

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

I saw this creature not in a zoo or some wild forest area but walking my neighborhood street.  Let me be honest I didn’t get this close for if so I wonder who would be eating what for dinner but close enough to say “I saw it”!  A Red Fox is beautiful when it is seen anyone but in your neighborhood it adds a bit more awe and honestly fear.  For if it is out there then what else might be creeping along in the neighborhood as well that might be looking at man’s best friend as an appetizer.

Without Prejudice

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

I was planning to write this post on music and how we should listen to songs based on whether they are good as a whole without any prejudice to genre and/or artist but after what occurred with Christopher Paul Hasson & Jussie Smollett I decided this post needed to be expanded.  Let us be clear that what Christopher Hasson is accused of wanting to do is vile and behind any real comparison with Jussie Smollett except that they are both based on prejudice. Pre-judging certain individuals based on race or religion and/or political philosophy is wrong!  Just as it is important to listen to a song with an open mind we should listen to others without deciding what they are going to say or do before they actually speak. We have every right to disagree vehemently with another individual position yet still find things we love about them.  Let us refrain from pre-judging and instead open our minds to those we have too often closed before.

WHAT?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Everyday it’s as if I sent you a  bouquet of flowers yet it’s just grass, rocks and who knows what else, so tell me what am I missing? I know I should take time to smell the roses but the grass and rocks really smells that good that we have to continue to smell the same spot? Yes, your nose is better equipped then mine for this “enjoyment” yet it’s still just grass and rocks what could really be out there that causes such exhilaration! Is there some secret dog code that is behind the human thought process? Maybe just maybe they have found a secret tunnel that reveals everything!!!  Someday I might fully understand and say “I should have taken the time to smell the grass and rocks” but for now it’s just WHAT?

HERO CARDS

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Business - No Comments

Unlike the standard cards which showcase excellence on what does on the court HERO CARDS will celebrate what individuals do above and behind. Whether they be that firefighter who went in when everyone believed all was lost or that Seal Team members who fought against all odds. These cards will celebrate those who take a brave stance against unbelievable odds such as MLK to those who went where others refused to go to help the sick such as Mother Theresa. They will feature all the basic stats of such individual with a website that contains even more pertinent information.   HERO CARDS may not be the most popular card in one’s deck but the most valuable in one’s heart and soul.

FOOTNOTE– This probably wouldn’t be a great business venture unless we are able to change society to who is really important.

Adult Stem Cells Promise or Hype?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

This cell above may change medical health and cures forever…. but we aren’t there yet…I think?  For adult stem cells are taken out of one’s own body so there is no ethical or rejection issue. Stem cells can transform into tissue or even organs where there is a weakness in one’s body to save limbs and some say lives as well. Yet here are the concerns that stop me from being a client or endorsing others as such.

(1) MUTATION- Since we are putting these cells in areas that they weren’t normally meant to be could they then later on mutate into cells that cause damage or even death such as Cancer cells?

(2) CONFUSED-Is it possible that a stem cell put into one part of body may not know how best to function and transfer into something it wasn’t meant to be (ex bone cell instead of skin cell)

(3) CONTAMINATION- Even in the best conditions contamination can occur so if the cells aren’t preserved correctly they can release germs instead of solutions into one’s system.

SOLUTION- Adult Stem Cell Bank where one can put aside there cells until the research has been perfected and allow them to harvest/grow in the meantime. This should be performed in a facility  that is well regulated and controlled.

Ears Deceiving

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

My ears continue to deceive me every time  I hear this song and translate into thinking it’s a Smashing Pumpkin song.  How many songs from other artists do this to you? Where it sounds like one “artist” and continues to sound that way even after be drawn by another again and again.  Let’s face it many a performer will copy parts of an art form of another especially when it’s popular. Confusing the listener but allowing their copies to be sold at a a quicker pace.  The truth is this song by the Smashing Pumpkins … oops I mean Silversun Pickups is still worth listening to even if my ears get it wrong.

Blackkklansman- Hidden

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Not to deep beneath the story of Blackkklansman is a message of hate! This movie had many a brilliant scene that turned into a hate fest for those who hold a different political viewpoint then Spike Lee.  Where he slowly starts stereotyping those who belief in the Republican principles as having a hidden KKK agenda. It’s a vile message that undermines all the good works this film could have done in building relationships not based on race or religion but what is in one’s heart. Another form of deception is the glorious picture it paints of the Black Panthers who spilled many blue blood (police officers) in real life.  Yet one wonders if the Oscar nominations wouldn’t have come out if this message of defaming the President and his supporters wasn’t so prevalent.  The KKK is a reprehensible organization that has to hide it’s vile content while this form of political bigotry is awarded many an award. Furthermore it appears Mr. Lee needs an update in his education as those who have been hiding under hoods and black faces come from the Democratic network in Virginia.

** 1/2 – Blackklansman-  The concept and drawing were brilliant too bad the various colors weren’t added.

Tough Love Is….

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

Tough love is not fun.  For when one has to resort to this tactic they feel much of the 5 letter word and little of the 4 except in ways that I won’t write in this post.  Sometimes being so tough leaves you with another 5 letter word A-L-O-N-E while others want to go back to love at all costs.  Tough love shouldn’t be so tough but if that’s what it takes to make a difference in loved one then I guess the love will have to wait.

Jessie Smollett- THROW THE BOOKS

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

If the facts stand out then Jessie Smollett’s should be tried for bringing false accusations and if found guilty let all the books be thrown out him.  Jessie (if true) this isn’t some script you can remake but a sick desire to gain fame through lies that waste valuable police time and destroy the basic trust we need for society to function.  Those who perpetrate such hoaxes should not be given a slap on the wrist for then many wrists will come out for slapping but hard time. I have personally felt the pain and embarrassment that these lies have caused and it’s time said individuals feel it behind bars.  Hard time will make it harder for scripts like this to be written in the future again.
