The Democrats might have moved the wrong pawn when it comes to the government shutdown and border protection. Initially the believed they would be crowned King but it appears the President knows this chess board better. Here (below) is why the Democrats have to be concerned.
(1) INCIDENT – If G-D forbid there is an incident with an illegal alien and a naturalized citizens during this shutdown even the lame media will not be able to ignore it.
(2) WHAT SHUTDOWN- The government shutdown is having very minimal effect on the American people to the point where they might see how much big goverment is a big waste.
(3) BASE- President Trump is playing to his base with this shutdown and keeping them home. On the other hand while initially resistance might be effective once the Democratic base realize they’ve accomplished little winning the house they might decide to resist the voting booth in 2020.
(4) EXTREME- President Trump has modified his position in calling it a fence instead of a wall and appears to be willing to consider less money for “border protection” on the other hand many of the same Democrats who originally voted for said funding are now suddenly against it.
(5) MICROPHONE- A President no matter what the media might want to do has the microphone and if the President can formulate a strategy to make the American people believe this all about border security (visit the border, speaking to individuals hurt by illegal immigration etc) he will be crowned the victor of this game.
