Could this be the new big boy band? They have the looks and the $$’s behind them but do they have the talent? Although this initial song doesn’t grab me I’m not the audience that they’re marketing too so maybe I should allow a younger ear to listen. I just feel there needs a bit more edgyness to them to really hit the mark for they appear a bit too rehearsed. Only time tell whether “Hooked” hooks the next generation.
There are some songs you listen to for the beat and others for the tone but in the case of Chris Janson “Everybody” it is again his incredible lyrical voice. This artist has a way to say what we are all thinking but often don’t put into words at least this directly. His candor is refreshing in a musical world that is becoming way too bland. Please listen and tell me if you hear what I do.
It is just an inch away from light to darkness. Only a few steps that will make your path smooth or rough. Just as we notice that the name Balak and Balaam are so close together in the same bibilical story we can see how paths can collide. Balaam was initially only going to say what G-D put in his mouth/soul but after the temptation of Balak pulled him away he literally saddled his own horse to move in a different direction. Balaam soon released there is only one who will uplift or crush his dreams (as well as legs) before it was too late and decided to follow G-D’s plan after all. We all are led down a similar paths where maybe our signs are not as transparent as Balaak but they are there if we look a bit deeper. Or if we ignore them then the difference will feel as if it is just an inch away but instead are miles apart from the righteous path we should be following.
I’ve discoverd new life in me as if a different being that I thought was lost forever has come back to life. The heartbeat of a script which told a different part of my life has been discovered deep in the drive of an older computer. Yes, it’s still only felt by me but I know it’s alive and it’s heartbeat is beating on it’s own. G-D willing someday you will see it too and then we can see the beauty that was within. Yet even knowing today that it still lives has given me that as long as there is a beat there is L-I-F-E.
I want to reach out and help you get over the anger but you’d rather brew in it. I can’t help and that’s the way you want it to be. I could over a solution but that’s not what you want to hear from me just empathy. For you want me to “feel your pain” rather then find an escape to lessen it’s grip. It’s not easy for me to relate as a person who moves away from painful experiences and thoughts as fast as I can finding that ointment/escape from music, film or a good work out of the gym. Anger is something that I use to motivate me as well when I have control over it instead of it controlling me. Life is too short for me to feel anger and I’d rather enjoy the peaceful experience of just breathing in. Maybe you’re right though by accepting your angry thoughts it can lesson how you feel and as such be the excuse to get you where I want you to be, “happy”.
Charles Krauthammer had such ability that I never knew he had a disability until it was finally revealed many years later. His brilliance, good humor and confidence was something I would always emualate when having discussions with those who had a different viewpoint. We will miss the great man who showed how to live with confidence, pride and strength that many who are perfectly “healthy” could learn from.
If given something for free after awhile we won’t appreciate it and want MORE!!! If you don’t believe me when was the last time you appreciated that deep breath you took? You might say this is silly but if someone gave you a free cup of coffee everyday I guarantee after a year or two you’d expect a donut to dunk it into. Today we are giving free food, shelter and education to those who have entered our country illegally and still many complain that is not enough. When is a free lunch good enough when someone is just used to free air.
Koko the Gorilla (just in case you can’t tell) has passed into Gorilla Heaven and is signing his love back to us. Koko the one Gorilla who truly spoke to us with sign language will surely be missed by all with a bit more fur in their heart. When many said they wanted that Gorilla in the window it wasn’t Magilla but Koko and at the tender age of 46 it will now only be opened in Gorilla heaven. RIP Koko you beautiful beast.
Every chef knows when you put too many ingredients in one dish it never comes out right so why can’t our legislatives learn a cooking lesson? Why does the recipe have to include the kitchen sink? Just as any fine dinner break up the legislation in small chunks. The appetizer should be the core piece that you truly want to get passed but might be a bit more difficult let it get it bit warm then vote on it. If that dish doesn’t go over well then go to your main course which can have a bit more ingredients and try to serve that. Finally in the end have a dessert that most will have a difficult time resisting and that we can all agree taste great even if it’s just too sweet.
Just wondering is there any decency left? Are there things that we all can agree on that no matter how much you disagree with someones political view point you would never say in public and if so their would be hisses not a standing ovation? There was a time less then 4 years ago when there appeared to be such. When an attack on a political opponents children would be strictly off limits. A time when curse words would not be uttered about our leader on a public stage. We would never here comparisons to Nazi policy which we should never forget were much worse then anything even thought of today in the western hemphsphere. It wasn’t due to an blacklist but just plain decency. Yet those times seem so far away when I yearn for yesterday. Maybe I’m just dreaming but am I the only one.
