General Lee  nazi general

I shouldn’t have to put up both Generals on the same page for one defended a monster regime that tried to take over the world while the other defended a way of life that included the vile act of slavery yet their appears to be some debate occurring as it relates to statues that honor past leaders. Slavery was only one of the reasons that those in the south felt they needed to separate from the north and after their vote for independence it appeared they had no expansionist desires.  We of course find slavery to be repulsive but that evil was not brought on by these generals or even leader of the confederacy for it existed 100’s of year before and even had remnants in the north. The Nazi’s on the other hand formed the camps that not only enslaved those behind their bars but systematically murdered them as well.  The true motives of the confederacy and it’s long term goals can be debated even if we vehemently disagree with the institution of slavery but there is no argument about the completely evil motivates and goals of the Nazi’s.  Throughout history we uncover/accept evils of those that were heroes of our ancestors but there is no heroism in those that created such death and destruction on the innocent.   HOW DO YOU FEEL & WHY?
