Alone ACT

eating alone  movie theatre alone

Recently a friend went to a baseball game all by his lonesome self. I make this statement a bit more dramatic because that’s probably how I would feel, if I was to choose the one man team in this arena. Yet eating alone is something I actually enjoy for it gives me time to read a book and catch up with social media without being rude to those who would join me. Of course if it was Saturday night I’d probably make sure reservations were in my house.  Let’s face it there are some activities best enjoyed by yourself and other’s that bring on that lonely feeling.  I have gone to a movie by myself and felt great once the lights went off and a bit insecure when the lights came back on. Theater would be more difficult because I’d feel the need to speak to someone after the big expensive performance and try to understand why it’s worth it.  Here are the activities I truly enjoy by myself ? How about U?

(1) Writing– I don’t want anyone looking over my shoulder and correcting the grammar. That’s probably obvious by now.

(2) Reading– It’s hard to feel comfortable reading when you feel you’re ignoring another.

(3) Kayaking– The peace and quiet is best enjoyed when I don’t feel I have to worry about entertaining another.

(4)  Listening to music– Of course this would involve singing as well and I’m not ready to go on a talent show yet.
