Sometimes a win after a loss can feel even better as demonstrated by the House victory dance today over the ObamaCare Replacement Act. For if they were victorious out of the gate this win wouldn’t have smelled so good.  This is just as true in sports, business as in politics because so many others will quit when victory falls from their hands.  There is a long battle to go before the country can dance to this new tune but the single they hit today is a great start after their initial strikeout and it feels really good.

Retail Stores will not be able to compete against Amazon/Internet with price but they can withLIVE ENTERTAINMENT!!  Imagine instead of having to shop you want to shop because entertaining acts are right around the corner. Whether it be a comedian in the Women’s Lingerie Department or a singer in the Men’s Department the entertainment will make the whole experience better then ever and with careful product placement you might even sell a few more items.   Of course the bigger department stores will have a chance to showcase the more famous acts but smaller stores will be able to pool their resources so that the action can be their turf as well.   Entertainment doesn’t have to be for the adults exclusively as parents will be happy to have their children entertained as they have time to enjoy their shopping experiences.  For the stores who have difficult finding that entertaining value customer service with an entertaining way of speaking will fill that void.  Entertainment is the key to this next generation if retail is to survive in the future.

I would like to offer a little prayer for this National Day(s) of Prayer(s).  ‘

May G-D grant our leaders the ability to do what is in the best interest of our nation no matter what the political stripes they wear. May you protect our Armed forces from any threat that comes their way today and everyday. G-D may it be your will to bring peace, prosperity, happiness, health and hope to the people of this great land. May Freedom and opportunity continue to reign for all it’s people. G-D may we as individuals and as part of this great land develop and utilize our talents to help ourselves be better citizens and make this place better in our own wonderful way.  Let America be that beacon of hope for all those who seek such ideals around the world and let their prayers be answered as well. Finally G-D let us realize that one prayer and one day isn’t enough to thank you for what you’ve done and continue to do for this great place we live in called the United States of America.  

Today appears to be the day the House will finally vote on a Health Care Reform bill and even if it gets through this phase it must be voted on by the Senate then finally get confirmed by both legislative bodies during a reconciliation.   The truth is the bill is far from perfect but if it the end it is able to fulfill the following goals (below) the American people should consider it a success no matter where their stripes may lie.

(1) Stabilize Premium prices from the escalations that are occurring.

(2) Give consumers more choice on the individual health care that is best for them and their family.

(3) Lower the Deductibles so insurance really covers you and your family.

(4) Provide help for those with preexisting conditions so they won’t be pulled out or cancelled from existing plans.

(5) Allow health care professionals  that might be dangerous yet life saving  without losing it all in malpractice lawsuits.

(6) Stabilize medicine and medical devices for those who have seen those rates continue to rise.

(7) Let pools of groups buy insurance that fits the need of their own community and financial resources.

(8) Enable the insurance to go with the person no matter where their vocation may turn out to be.

In a world where instant gratification is just a click away so is boredom.  For in the not to distant past we actually had to wait to listen or watch what stimulated our mind and body which enabled us to look forward to the next time that event would occur. Yet today you can have it all anytime and anyplace you want. The epidemic is that when many people get bored they can act out in ways that are bad for themselves or society as a whole. Whether it be using dangerous drugs , producing video’s which hurt others, violent demonstrations etc..  Maybe it’s time we teach our young people that sometimes the best things come to those that wait a bit longer and allow us to hold onto the excitement way past the boredom.
